    So Putler thinks NATO is currently NOT involved in the war. What is the range of a long range missile by the way? i.e. how many miles/km is defined as long range? If Ukrainians and others were smart, the language would change to might include "longer / extended range", not "long range". In fact why even advertise the range to the enemy ??? Seems a tad silly. Perhaps keep it somewhat ambiguous, so red lines become grey and slightly blurry. Using the term permission is a big mistake. The west seems to have created a rod for its own back, by talking about permission. The whole concept of permission shouldn't even be on the table of public speculation. Arguably it shouldn't even be a private discussion. You give them the tools to do the military job as they see fit. As long as the focus is military defence, there should be no restrictions on forward leaning defensive measures.

    • @Ollies2CentsWardill
      @Ollies2CentsWardill หลายเดือนก่อน

      What escalation exactly? War crimes? It isn't as if they haven't been doing that all along. The fact is that he has no means to really threaten the West without being crushed. He doesn't have the forces to supply both the Eastern front and his own borders. How exactly can he escalate. He can mobilise, if he is prepared to take the political risk, but it'll mean he runs out of Soviet weapons faster and any land he takes will eventually be taken back.

  • @JoeyBlogs007
    @JoeyBlogs007 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Ukraine's actions are an attempt at levelization, not escalation. An escalation would be a ramped up Russian response above its current extreme level. Not every move in conflict necessarily leads to escalation, but could be viewed as a necessary adjustment to match the situation. The term escalation implies a significant increase in conflict intensity, whereas leveling actions could be necessary for maintaining a balanced defense or ensuring parity. This applies both to active and passive defensive postures.

  • @JoeyBlogs007

    “struggling” to hold their ground in Ukraine🤣

  • @robertfrancis7767
    @robertfrancis7767 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In what way is he struggling his rate of territorial gains recently have been accelerating not slowing and not blitzkreig but it is basically relentless in 2024.
    Where is the good news for Ukraine apart from longer range missiles. Germany for example tank donation 88 tanks in 2023 and 77 in 2024 and aid to Ukraine to be 50% lower in 2025.
    Russia may struggle in 2025 bit so far the 2014 Southern frozen front continues to instead advance slowly westwards.
    I feel sorry for Ukraine news wise it is not so good at the moment but this war is simply not a sprint or a marathon but more of a longer term event.
    Kursk was too big and involved too much of best equipment and better combat units. I think the war has turned in Russia's favour long term and so Kursk is going as predicted as is the South but new missiles may buy time.

    • @Ollies2CentsWardill
      @Ollies2CentsWardill หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it is a marathon and Russia has been living off inherited equipment. They've been losing resources at an unsustainable rate for those small gains. Russia's economy looks like going off a cliff soon as well. If the West starts getting serious about supplying Ukraine then Russia's longer term prospects are bleak.

    • @robertfrancis7767
      @robertfrancis7767 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Ollies2CentsWardill No facts then to just nail some ol lies about this conflict.
      1/ World largest stockpile of armour Russia
      2/ Biggest manufacting country for Armour in Europe Russia
      3/ Battle damaged vehicles can be repaired and used for spares.
      4/ Russia additionally gets loads of spares from India
      5/Russia "losses" are basically guesses as both sides share equipment models.
      6/ both sides lie about losses, but Russia can afford losses Ukraine cannot.
      7/ Ukraine produces absolutely no tanks
      8/ Ukraine supply of tanks from overseas goes down year on year.
      9/ Putin wants escalation excuse in order to out mobilise Ukraine.
      10/ Russian troop reserves are larger and often battle hardened not raw recruits with little training.
      11/ Ukraine is financially wrecked by war and to some extent structurally and with weak economic growth. Russia is economically strong and has healthy growth .
      12/ Putin will not start a direct war with NATO , but may cut utility networks and black sea trade via Ukraine.
      I could go on but Russia at present us not noticeably struggling in any area of note and also is currently advancing on all fronts. Think about Zelenskyy"s offer of fighting pause in some areas, that is the suggestion of someone usually "struggling" to hold the front together. Putin wants Novo Rossiya again and a negotiated peace based on that territorial fait accompli. I do not want Russia to win but facts are facts and fanciful notions do no one any good it is a long war frankly ending 2026 is optimistic for Ukraine but on limited Novo Rossiya area maybe possible at some point for Russia. Not a long term good outcome for stability globally a bad precedent.

    Russia has reduced Ukraine's power grid to seventy percent of capacity. Any time Russia wants to reduce Ukraine's power grid to zero, it can do so. Russia has powerful and highly accurate missiles that Ukraine cannot defend against. Ukraine is losing ground all along the line of contact in the east. It is also being routed in Kursk. Ukraine wants to hit Russia with long range missiles because it is losing because it is desperate. It is NOT Russia that is having difficulty "holding its ground. " It is Ukraine. How can you call that a win Russia was supposed to take Ukraine in three days . Two and a half years later it only occupies 18% of Ukraine at a cost of over 600.000 maimed and killed Russians and billions in equipment destroyed. If that’s a win for Russia I’d hate to what a loss looks like.

      At what cost? And for what benefit? One of the top armies in the world invading what appears to be mostly farmland. Before Putin invaded Ukraine the west could have cared less. Now hundreds of thousands are dead. Even if Russia could finally take and hold Ukraine their economy will take years if not decades to recover. All for Putin's desire to be the glorious Czar of Russia

      @@desmondgroves6998 Russia never wanted to take Ukraine, much less in three days. It is fighting to retain control of mineral-rich Donbass which has been invested in by Russia and worked with Russian labour for hundreds of years.
