Ever since the 144 hours Free visa policy, coming to China has been a heat option. But for the many TH-camr couples traveling in China recently, this couple really showcases their genuinity and kindness, as well as their respect and love for this land and its people, not pretentious politeness and fake smiles. Things like this u can't fake it or lie about it. The audience can always tell
out of all youtubers came to China recently, I have several favortie ones: Luke and Naomi feel very warm, especially Naomi's smile, I mean she has a foreigner face, but somehow her smile always make me feel she is neigbour from my home 😅. @yoingen my friend, since you type in Chinese... you might need to get out and see the world a bit before hating on your own kind. Here in the States, you don't get to buy an ice cream bar at any supermarket for 1 buck 50, let alone in the middle of nowhere. At least this lady is trying to run an honest business. She does not beg on the street or shoplift any stores. Have a bit of sympathy and respect for hardworking people. Just saying...
I had an exact same hiking 24 years ago. It's a Chinese new year eve. I had a wonderful night with my girlfriend in a wooden carbine beside the cliff and had dinner with the owner's family, which was of Yi nationallity. All the guests didn't need to pay for the hearty dinner that night because of the local custom. What kind people they are! It's one of the most unforgettable night in my life!
I would never be able to finish this trail, looks extremely dangerous for me to hike this mountain😂. Hope you can shoot more videos all around China for us.👍
To be honest, I have watched a lot of videos about foreigners traveling in China, only this couple with basic respect for China, . This is very good, foreigners do not need to love this country, as long as they break the prejudice, harvest a wonderful journey, and will share with their family and friends to introduce China, it is enough.
Yes so far I like this couple very much too...another couple Josie n mark I unsubed I think behind those smiley politeness and her replies they are not "genuine" From Malaysia 🇲🇾
Every TH-camr can travel to China. From big cities to Xinjang to Tibet are easily accessible, but it takes mad skill to be able to go where you two did. Thanks for capturing such breathtaking natural beauty of China and showing it to the world.❤ It's amazing to think about the merchants and the horses that used to travel on this road.
Man, so glad you guys made it safe and sound to the motel. I was holding my breath and praying for you the whole time through the trekking. Have a good rest and march on, troopers.😊❤
This is amazing to see, thanks for sharing. I’ve been to Lijiang before when i was a kid, but never visited Tiger Leaping Gorge. My dream is to do the Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal one day.
@@bclzfd You have to carry an insulated container for those ice creams to that spot. That's a lot of labor for an old lady. Think of that you might feel 20 RMB is well worth it.
I've been waiting for this episode! The opening remark about Biden really cracked me up! 12:35 The woman said, "Thank you. I haven't had the first sale of the day." FYI, the first sale of the day is a very important event for all businesses in China. Business owners view it as very inauspicious and upsetting if the first customer ends up not buying anything. The woman was very grateful that you bought the ice-cream.
Congratulations on completing such a wonderful wilderness hike. I believe this is just the beginning. China has countless world-class natural scenery waiting for you to explore.
Thank you to LUKE and NAOMI for their willingness to support the economy of remote areas. I believe that as professional travelers, they have rich experience in shopping. If they are willing to spend money, it proves that they find the price acceptable under current circumstances. Those who think the price is expensive only see the cost but fail to recognize the inconvenience of transportation... the unstable number of tourists...
How cute that Naomi is carrying the bamboo basket, looks so good on you. You two are such well mannered and kind persons. Please show us more about the wonderful journeys you two going through, perhaps some museums in China as well ? There are lots of amazing national treasures of Chinese culture worth you both to see and show us 😊 Have fun !!!
The Chinese people have been spoiled by the low prices planned by the government and cannot understand how difficult it is to make money in remote mountainous areas. Therefore, the comment sections are all about complaining that ice cream or other food is much more expensive, without taking into account that there are not many customers in a day, and transportation and storage How high the cost must be. Reasonable prices are necessary to ensure social development. Instead of blindly pursuing low prices, a business without profit cannot last long.
@@TwoMadExplorers Happy to see that you've updated your video. As for that 20 yuan ice cream, you were definitely ripped off. In China, these two ice creams are among the lowest-priced and low-quality products. If they weren't sold in tourist areas, they would be worth at most 1 yuan. Even if you bought them in a tourist area, they wouldn't be that ridiculously overpriced. The elderly vendor was trying to take advantage of you because you are foreigners. Please keep in mind that there are good people and bad ones everywhere. The seller of walnuts in the previous video was a clear example of an honest person who wouldn't overcharge. However, the ice cream vendor had malicious intentions. We Chinese people have also been fighting against such behavior, as it seriously disrupts the market order.
You guys are awesome, making such a difficult and challenging trip to the little motel. A very different vlog not just seeing the modern but the remote. Thumbs up to you both! Continue on your wonderful expedition in China safely and joyfully.
Ten years ago, my students and I came to the Tiger leaping Gorge,Stunned by the precipitous sight here. I took my students through an adventure that I would never forget. 😅
Yesterday, my friends and I also met the aunt who sold sweet potatoes and snickers bars in the last video when we were hiking in Tiger Leaping Gorge. I chatted with her and asked her if she met a couple of foreigners to buy sweet potatoes last month. She said yes, and she also read the comments under the video, lol😆😆😆
So good to see you made it in the first half of the hike. I just can't image how exhuasted you were after the hiking. The old lady in red jacket said she haven't sold anything yet at that day so she was so grateful for your purchase. The white ice cream Naomi ate is called 老冰棍(Old style ice), which is basically made from water and sugar. It is very popular in China around 20 years ago. And the one Luke ate is 绿色心情(Green Mood for trade name), which is made from mung beans and cream (the real ice 'cream' in these two Haha). They are both cheap in the nomal market like 1.5~2.5 yuan each now. So it can be a good choice for the hot summer in China after you back to the city.
One important trait i found in Naomi and Luke’s video is that they DO notice some specific cultural points of the place they are visiting, not only the introduction of tombs 10:46 , but also, as far as i could remember, Naomi scan-translated a monument/wall in Kunming’ Temple to see what exactly those Chinese poetry written means.
Luke and Naomi, don't miss Baishuitai. It's very close to where the trail ends. Pure natural beauty. Would strongly recommend as a nice bonus for this hike.
I LOVE YOU GUYS. Your awesome humanity for supporting the remote villagers is so admirable. It’s as if I’m taking these epic journeys in China right there next to Luke & Naomi. I’m forever grateful for you two 🎉🎉🎉
I am sure Luke and Naomi are aware they have been overcharged for the ice cream. They just want to help the lady! 👏 You can hear Luke’s view on helping the vendors , around 18:30 onwards

Great China vlog as always. A small suggestion: to viewers unfamiliar to that part of China, it's helpful to mention that Tiger Leaping Gorge is the place where the river running through it eventually becomes Yangtze River, one of the main "bloodstreams" of China, connecting cities like Chongqing, Wuhan, Nanjing and Shanghai.
@@TwoMadExplorers I was watching it and and I feel like I was there with you. I even tried to put my head out through you video to see more of the view 😂

I am Chinese. If you love the beautiful scenery of nature, I suggest you go to Meili Snow Mountain and Yubeng Village in Yunnan. Yubeng Village is at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain. It has very magnificent scenery and is not far from Shangri-La. You can ask the hostess of the hotel you are staying at what you need to prepare and how to get there.
Just a reminder, outdoor activities carry risks. The intensity of hiking in Tiger Leaping Gorge is actually very high, with a distance of 28 kilometers taking more than ten hours. And this is the edge of the plate, where mountain building continues to compress the mountain. In addition, due to the extremely small watershed area and rapid erosion of the Jinsha River (Yangtze River), the geological stability of the mountains on both sides is extremely unstable. Luke's filming of the giant rocks rolling down the valley proves this point. Witnessing magnificent canyons with one's own eyes is an unforgettable experience, but if one finds it difficult to complete the hike or encounters geological events or disasters such as rolling stones, it is important to evacuate in a timely manner. While admiring human courage, we should also respect nature.
Seeing the places I have personally experienced appear in your videos and playing from your perspective, it feels very touching and unique. Wishing you all a happy time in China, and hoping that you can enjoy the unique scenery of different regions and cities in China.
I visited Chichén Itzá Mexico this year, one small Popsicle was $5, Chichén Itzá is in city flat land, it is not like this high mountain area, so 20 Chinese dollar ($2.5) for two popsicle is reasonable price!
The scenery was spectacular, but the weather was not very good that day. It would be more beautiful if it was sunny. Thank you for sharing the beauty of the journey. Luke and Naomi are always so kind.🤣🤣🤣
It is not pea but Mung Bean the one that you see them in Chinese restaurant as Bean Sprouts!! I like the ones with RED BEANS not the green beans!!! I visited the Tiger Leap Gorge 1998 and there were no huts around and just narrow dirt trails!! There was a ladder of welded rebars to scale up a 3-story high cliff!! Along the trail, only one snack stand by the “ROCK”!!!Have FUN!!

13:51 😢Please don't get me wrong, these mountain road aunties selling you ice cream, water are definitely not scammers . They also work very hard, and they have to go up and down the mountain every day, and because of the mountains, the cost of transporting materials will be higher. I hope you don't mind that two ice creams cost $20, which is double the normal price.😅❤❤❤
Seen the countryside enjoying the food " as you both do" and not being afraid of trying new routes and meals as a chef you would be my favorite tasters couple 😂

Seeing the places I have personally experienced appear in your videos and playing from your perspective, it feels very touching and unique. Wishing you all a happy time in China, and hoping that you can enjoy the unique scenery of different regions and cities in China.
❤
I visited Chichén Itzá Mexico this year, one small Popsicle was $5, Chichén Itzá is in city flat land, it is not like this high mountain area, so 20 Chinese dollar ($2.5) for two popsicle is reasonable price!
If you are in city it's only about 1-10cny but in mountain, you need consider transportation costs
@@张枝洁 蒙牛绿豆的那个,在城市里面是3元,老冰棒是2元。出门旅游就别计较那么多了。上海迪士尼30多块钱的冰淇淋也是这个蒙牛的。就没有人嫌贵。
The scenery was spectacular, but the weather was not very good that day. It would be more beautiful if it was sunny. Thank you for sharing the beauty of the journey. Luke and Naomi are always so kind.🤣🤣🤣
Be safe,great view!
Can’t wait to watch the next episode❤
🫶🏼
Rains when your hike is about to end is a really nice surprise🤣
this is a very nice trip, is nice to see all this with your eyes
Can't believe you go hiking 6 hours, well done❤
❤️
从你们刚到中国的第一期视频我开始关注的,每天都来TH-cam看看你们什么时候更新,很多地方我还没有去过,在你们的视频里我能感受到这些景色有多美,看完后我也想去旅游了❤❤I began to pay attention to the first video when you just arrived in China. I came to TH-cam every day to see when you updated it. I haven't been to many places yet. I can feel how beautiful these scenery are in your videos. After watching it, I also want to travel.❤❤
13:51 😢Please don't get me wrong, these mountain road aunties selling you ice cream, water are definitely not scammers . They also work very hard, and they have to go up and down the mountain every day, and because of the mountains, the cost of transporting materials will be higher. I hope you don't mind that two ice creams cost $20, which is double the normal price.😅❤❤❤
thanks for sharing!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍
Seen the countryside enjoying the food " as you both do" and not being afraid of trying new routes and meals as a chef you would be my favorite tasters couple 😂
I can feel it on my thigh, shin and calf muscles like I was hiking with you guys in this video.
All my respect to u ,for your kind and generous
I have been watching your channel. I am from China. I have never been to the beautiful Yunnan, Dali, Lijiang and hiking Tiger Leaping Gorge you showed. Next time I go back to China, I must go to Yunnan to see the unique style and culture. Thank you for your videos that bring me different feelings from your perspective💯😀🌹🌹
Two Amazing Travelers.
Love from the other side
