China is too big, still have Hunan provinces, Guilin in the South that is in the Yangshao province, Sometimes things might not happen just the way we plan in travels but am sure glad you guys are safely down from the mountain. In fact, the northwest region of Yunnan (Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La) is divided into rainy season and dry season. The best time to travel is winter, which is the dry season. There are not so many clouds and rain, and it is easy to see the whole picture of each majestic peak and canyon. But in any case, safety is the most important thing. I wish you a happy trip.

I am afraid to your safety on the way of Tiger Leaping gorge because there is a proverb in hiking world,”Walk without looking at the scene, look at the scene without walking” Next time, Attach the camera to your head or chest,and use trekking poles which are not used for older people and are your third or fourth legs. The best time to hike Tiger Leaping gorge is in winter.

There is more rain in summer, so there will be some natural disasters in the mountains areas. Leaving regret now is to be able to play better in the future. In summer, you can go to the north of China, especially the Northeast China and Xinjiang, where the climate is very comfortable.

The recent holiday will be Sep 15-17 for Mid-Autumn Festival, and Oct 1-7 for National Day, and you can schedule your trip to avoid the crowd, or maybe find a rural place to have a peaceful time.
If you ever come back, you can continue this hike, and travel to Baishuitai (white water terraces) and Shangri-la. Both are crazy beautiful places that are so out of this world. Must-do!

When you stand right in front of the huge mountain rigs that fade into the clouds and are surrounded by this endless wall of pure natural massiveness. You cannot help but wonder how trivial humans are to the Mother Nature. Such sublimity makes us feel awe of nature and hopefully leads us all to respect this planet more. Be humble is the philosophical takeaway I’m getting from seeing this. I can’t imagine how much awe I’d be in if I ever go there and see all this in person.
There are many local markets in Heilongjiang Province and Jilin Province in Northeast China. Among them, the morning market is very famous. You can go shopping. You two definitely like it very much.

I come from Chengdu, and summer in mountains in Yunnan and Sichuan is very dangerous! The rain in summer causes debris flow which kills people every year. You made a very wise decision and I suggest not going to mountains in the two provinces in summer in the future. Please stay safe!

Dear L&N, u made a right decision. There we're two young man dead in the tiger leaping gorge, because of the landslide on July 25.The southern China is always raining in the summer, there are a lot of nature disasters in the mountain of this area. Like: SiChuan province, Yunnan province, Guizhou Province ect.

Traditional Chinese people have a habit that when they have an appointment to handle important things, they always start to leave much earlier, and 99% of them will arrive early. For example, if they need to take a flight at 7 pm, they may leave home for the airport at 7 am, and it may only take two hours from their home to the airport. Although this is a bit of a waste of time, it also ensures that they will not miss the flight.

There we're two young man dead in the tiger leaping gorge, because of the landslide on July 25.The southern China is always raining in the summer, there are a lot of nature disasters in the mountain of this area. Like: SiChuan province, Yunnan province, Guizhou Province ect.
