    Had the stage II Torque cam installed on 107 Road Glide to enhance stage 1 with SE Ventilator, Basani 2 to 1 & VH Fuelpak. Stage II was significant gain & starts to pour on early at 2,200 RPM; also increased redline, no longer hit limiter like stock. Worth the $ & noticeable. V&H was able to send custom tune at no charge.
    My buddies on 103 Street Glide & Indian 111 (both stage I only) can’t keep up.

    • @mopar21
      @mopar21 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fuelpak killed your powertrain warranty.

    • @THEelduderino
      @THEelduderino 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Actually, warranty is in place. The FuelPak was the choice of the HD Service Manager for its ability to flexible adapt to upgrades and ability to revert back to stock tune if needed; it is also not a permanent fixture on bike, I preferred a Zippers tuner but he recommended against as it is a full CPU replacement. HD service installed it & they’ve had good experience.
      You are correct that several HD dealers will tell you anything not HD or Screamin Eagle will void warranty so you need to find a reputable dealer to work with. It doesn’t matter if it’s a tuner or simple replacing full pipes. The reality is that is not how warranty’s work per Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Essentially claims are denied much like insurance actuarial scales meaning they choose to deny as most do not have the money & time to fight the claim. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act defines that the manufacturer must have reasonable proof that whatever after market item they reference is proven to be the cause of the failure. That’s why it’s important to have a dealer relationship as there is a tremendous amount of subjectivity & some dealers will fight you. It’s difficult for the dealer to argue you performed faulty work when they installed it & their parts counter sold it.
      I’ve purchased several new Harleys all with tuners & full pipes & have never had an issue.

    • @mopar21
      @mopar21 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@THEelduderino guarantee if you call the Harley Davidson customer service number, give them your vin, and tell them you did a tune other than their tuner or stage 1 download, they will void your powertrain warranty. They may revert back to stock when they plug into your bike for recalls to avoid this essentially hiding it from the MOCO, nice of the dealer to do that, but if the factory found out, warranty would be gone.

    • @THEelduderino
      @THEelduderino 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't tread on me, agreed. That’s why you have the dealer service, they do the work, and they contact HD. There is a trigger in how warranty claims are denied that I won’t get in to on this thread & I have had warranty work on other bikes in the past with no issue. You have to have some common sense, in your analogy Ford would do the same thing if you called the factory saying your F150 was tuned & now you have a problem. In full disclosure I help write warranty contracts & reporting requirements so I understand the burden of proof & recourse options. HD would pick apart the more obvious items like Bassani or V&H pipes prior to the tuner anyway. Several other dealers openly say even non HD slip ones void the warranty. I’ve heard this for years & I go out of my way to not purchase & service at those dealers given at least they are transparent with the proactive refusal.
      All for not however, the bike is running strong and after 2 bikes with FP & 1 with Zippers they work great, cause no problems & I ride my bikes hard. My warranty ended last month.
      A good side point however in given all the warranty concerns w/ HD, never buy the extended warranty. Too many things to fight & actuary model shows if you just saved the extra $ to self ensure it works in your favor.

    • @alanwhiteside410
      @alanwhiteside410 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why does everyone worry about the Warranty it’s only good for two years anyway. Do your upgrades after the warranty expires unless you got the extension.

    I have a 2021 Street Glide, initially did the mufflers (Cobra Neighbor Haters) and air cleaner (Screamin Eagle Ventilator) with a tune, there was some noticeable power improvements; however, when i changed out my stock header for the Cobra True Duals header and had it retuned the bike really came alive and i love the improvement, so smooth and throttle response is awesome.
    Now i have a friend that did a stage 2 (SE 447 Cams, SE Tappets/Lifters & SE Adjustable Pushrods) and decided he wanted to go with a stage 4 kit and gave me the cams, tappets/lifters & adjustable pushrods, going to have them installed soon, never planned on doing a stage 2 but hard to say no to free, just need to pay for labour. not sure what to expect but i guess we will find out soon

      @@tyroneshoelace4872 the cam helps give it a deeper bark harley sound, but so do they header pipes n slip ons doing a stage 1 but doing the stage 2 you get a bit lots better sound and more of a difference in performance , i went with the higher cam those bikes have enough torQue to suit me from a stop and I just want to jump on the 4 lane at times and make time pull away from traffic or pass with authority on the freeway speeds thats where the 462 shines with horsepower, if you want to race your friends or accelerate faster stop light to stop light or faster getting on a freeway ramp then torque is better to begin with, but if you want long legs to out run most on freeway n pull away go with horsepower cam, they both going to do better for you just depends on where u want to be happier twsiting the throttle at for faster response going at slow speeds to mid riange go torque, faster throttle response on the over 50 mph zone go with horsepower, torque gets you out the gate faster n horsepower then keep on going faster than the torque can keep up with once doing freeway speeds, your friends with torque can leave you at a light or bottom of the ramp, but once your horsepower band kicks in you catch them then run off n leave them at highway speeds or they are pushing higher rpms at highway speed than u to keep up.

    8 months later, I am considering a 131 Stage IV kit instead of a 135 Crate Engine replacement.
    Is a 131 now cheaper since the 135 is being produced?
    The wait for my area in Pennsylvania for a 135 is likely up to December or later when it is officially released for here compared to scheduling a 131 kit upgrade next week.
    I am just trying to weigh my options. Looking for any comments, thoughts, or suggestions for this upgrade.

    Harley-Davidson should have Softails that come from factory with the Stage 1 or Stage 2 (with torque cam) I would buy one an others would two. How much Harley shake is on Stage 1 an Stage 2? • @cwsspot
      @cwsspot 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Harley does have softails that come with stage 1. My anniversary Breakout came with the ventilator on it. No point in exhaust mods cause that's a preference and would cost more just to be changed out. And when you have the option of torque or horsepower in a cam, again it's a preference. Mine got the torque cam. Not much shaking or rattling on the M8s. Which is good, if I wanted to shake I'd drive a Freightshaker/Freightliner. The 114 doesn't need a cam really. Did just fine without it.

    • @THEelduderino
      @THEelduderino 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Difficult to answer as there is a ton of variation in "stage 1" cost 1st. Stage II two only, is about $400 for kit & then labor, so $1,100 to $1,200 is good estimate for stage II only. However, you need air in, air out & tuner to open up performance with significant pricing diff. If you went cheap, lower perf, slip ons only, SE tuner (not a very adjustable tuner) & filter only change parts are roughly $900-$1,000 depending on brands. Other extreme, better perf, full ECM Zipper type ECU replacement, full headers & mufflers with high flow air cleaner replacement you could easily get over $2K for parts only.
      For my 107", I went stage 1 with SE Ventilator, Basani road rage 2 to 1 full exhaust & VH FP3 tuner. Parts were around $1,500, I installed myself & VH FP3 tuner allowed for dynamic remaps once HD later put in cams for stage II, & new map from VH. All upgrades, with stage II torque cam, running 111ft# & 93 HP, great power through the rev range, no downshifting required, starts losing power at 5,200 RPM.

    • @duke9173
      @duke9173 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      TH MK8 HDMC is going to give crank numbers. I’ve done the stage IV kit with the torque cam and had mine dyno’d. I asked to pull back a bit on the tune as I wanted more reliable for the long haul. I’ve heard of numbers past 125 at the rear wheel but can say mine is 115hp & 115tq at the rear wheel. With a conservative 10% powertrain loss that’s 50% better than stock. After logging a few thousand miles my only fear is one day I’m going to whiskey throttle it and I’ll be in serious trouble. Hindsight from what I’ve read and seen the stage II is the best bang for the buck and 3&4 are a lot more $ for smaller gains. Not a professional just a rider and my two cents.

I predict this company will be bankrupt inside of 5 years from now..... We have access to company balance sheets, showing the company way over extended on existing loans and credit to the tune of almost 500 million dollars. This motor company not have that kind of cash to pay back..........Is only a matter of time now, before banks start calling these notes back over-due for payment............

It costs the same to build an engine with the correct camshaft as it does to do it with one that has degraded performance. No wonder HD is having trouble with its image and its reputation.
