Ever find a game where your natural instinct turns out to also be the best move? That's this game for me. But unfortunately it went over rather tepidly with the rest of the group.
Oh yes, those games are often the best for me. It means I don't have to spend a tonne of time puzzling out how best to do things within the arbitrary restrictions of the rules. You can do what "feels" right, and still have success. The best times are when the game mechanisms so closely match the theme/setting, that I can ask "If I was actually in this situation, what would I do?" and the result would make sense.
Sorry I wasn't clear! I was referring to Auf Achse, which to me is the quintessential pick-up-and-deliver game. Not a very famous game any more, though it did win the SdJ way back when. Still a great game today (f you can accept a bit of roll-and-move).
