14:30 Haha, I'm glad you crawled around the fence for those items, because I really doubt you'd want to do that at the end if you were missing them. 9:13 You got lucky that none of the barons/knights blocked you in this fight. That was a really tight space! Still a really cool mapset.
Welcome to the cities in the clouds! I love the ambience of this map, it reminds me of Bhujerba (Final Fantasy 12) if it was more steampunk-y and less magical. That said, I have an issue with this map, and it's not a small one. Those civilians you see loitering around the footpaths? They can be killed (they're S1 shootable linedefs), and if you do shoot one by accident, a flock of 60+ Lost Souls teleports in and makes your life and ammo reserves miserable as a result. I would have less of a problem with the idea if only LunchLunch wasn't the only mapper in the whole DBP to use this mechanic, and especially if they couldn't actually be "killed" when it's not even your fault. What I mean by this is, look at the red-haired bloke hanging around by the crate at 1:47. In the ZDoom+ family of ports, if the zombieman up and behind him shoots or the imp throws a fireball over his head (projectiles can activate S1 and SR lines in ZDoom+), he dies - his "hitbox" linedef gets triggered. It is incredibly annoying. A _good_ design decision, on the other hand, was those damaging liquid leaks on the corners of the last two fights. They stop you from camping in a too-safe spot and force you to be aggressive. Although I wonder just in what in God's name kind of peppermint grog the people of New St. Icarus were brewing that would hurt just from standing on puddles of it... On a lighter note, you didn't even notice, but the "pardon me" guy by the area map secret was taking a leak 🤣 *P.S.:* Nice job spotting the glut of bonuses at the start of the map. I edited my health and armor bonuses to not count as items and not be collectable if you're at 200%, so those extra stashes fly by me like bats in the night.
40oz cheekily added it as a mechanic after I finished the map and sent that version to me just as a goof but then we both thought it was funny so I greenlit the inclusion. But we both should have thought out the system a little more thoroughly since people have found it frustratingly unclear why the lost souls spawn in.
@@lunchlunchYT Yea, on paper I'm not against it, but you lads could have cooked juuuust a bit more 🤏 Maybe some form of forewarning, as well as moving the Irish dude I mentioned in particular since he is so susceptible to linedef-triggering chicaneries. Oh well, it is what it is. We all make mistakes.
This is such a good levelset, the levels remind me so much of the atmosphere of Eternal's VooDoo Guns, two level mapset that I really recommend! With that being said, the levels in this mapset are so incredibly good, it really is a fun mapset, especially after I beat God Machine UV Max having a short break in the form of a levelset like this was needed.
Oh yeah, most DBPs are a relatively easy and very fun jaunt. Perfect for newcomers, weary hard map enthusiasts, and bored Doomers looking for different themes.
Gorgeous freaking map with some pretty tight encounters (especially the one with HKs and an arch-vile in a small arena). Surprised you didn't 'kill' any of the NPCs. I guess LunchLunch wanted to make up for the abscence of NPC dialogue with this gimmick.
What you ended up doing in the megasphere room actually seemed like a good strategy. Navigating the room with the hell nobles proved pretty difficult for me with the archies. Took me a few tries.

Cat stays quiet for blind runs, and cat acts up on practice runs!

Yeah, I didn't figure this out till the end, which made the map insanely difficult.
I think Vytaan should play through it again, making a point to shoot every civilian on the map for an extra challenge.

@@lunchlunchYTWell it's a masterpiece. The whole WAD is.

The steam effect on the monster teleporter is a nice touch.
Putting the "steam" back in "gaslamp fantasy"...
It's that extra touch of steampunk that I absolutely love.
Lunch Lunch maps are always good, but the environmental detail in this one is mind blowing!
I’m curious to see how challenging this mod will get!❤😮
Not to spoil it much, but the last leg is no joke.
@@DinnerForkTongue I second this, the last level in particular is hard as nails.
There are some hairy fights in the last stretch, it's definitely harder than Auger Zenith.

Yeah, you have options on that bit. That's always good.
Cat cam is the best cam
Second-best cam! Vytaan cam is best cam 😍
But Cataan cam is awesome cam for sure. 😻
This map looks gorgeous Woah!
Another glorious map. Also, if you shoot any of the NPC’s, it summons a shed load of lost souls.
I can't believe that this didn't happen... :D
Not even during the secret hunting. Truly amazing he avoided hitting any NPCs. :)
Yeah. I had accidentally done it during my first run, and it had brought it to an end. XD
Bad news for GZDoom players: an imp throwing a fireball way over the top of an NPC in this map kills the NPC.
@@DinnerForkTongue I played this in GZDoom, and it didn't happen.
shoutouts to lordlunch. the set dressing outside the map is gorgeous.
Father Comstock is doing his damnedest to thwart Doomguy's mission!
Nice work.
On May 28, it's 4:00 PM New York time and you haven't uploaded yet today. You're disrupting my schedule, friend! lol
Hehe, I've been having some scheduling/time issues - it should come later today though! Today's Capybara was very tough

#OrangeCatClan is STRONG on this one 💪 😊 🐈 😻
I had to unlike this again because liking it made the number not nice. So here's a replacement engagement signal!
Don't worry, you can like it again since the niceness has been ruined beyond your ability to repair.
