I’m in Saudi now, I was born and raised in NYC, I’ve been here on and off for a year now, got married here and I’m currently in Abha. Saudi is definitely a better place to live than the USA ESPECIALLY if you are Muslim. I would encourage those that can work remotely and/or can find an opportunity here to try an extended stay, visit Jeddah, Riyadh, Abha, Taif, and other cities if you can and get a real feel for the country

I went to Saudi last year and I had greatest experience, Madina was amazing and the people were very generous may Allah protect Saudi, it’s people and the entire Muslim ummah

I agree. I've been living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia full time for the last three years and was here for four years prior. It's safer than my hometown of Orlando, FL by quite a bit. I live on a Western compound with a large swimming pool, restaurant, and other facilities. The driving is changing with more rules, more cameras, and with the police occasionally pulling you over for following to closely or passing on the shoulder. If someone has a chance to work here, for good money, I would recommend it.

I'm Saudi and have been living in the Lone Star State, Texas, for the past six years. I love both places; however, Saudi is by far a safer place. Thankfully, nothing scary has happened to me here, but the idea that 9 out of 10 cars on the street have guns makes me shiver. Add to that the recent shooting at Allen Outlet, a place where I usually shop and meet friends. I really wish major action will be taken in regard to this issue. Anyway, welcome to Saudi David. Hopefully one day you will get a chance to bring your son to Saudi.
Thank you and inshallah one day I will bring him to visit and experience the culture here. He needs to learn at a young age about everything to help shape his future
Best action you can do is buy a gun so you can protect yourself and your family from criminals. Unfortunately US law is very nice to criminals whereas in Saudi justice is quick and strong. I was shocked when I went to Saudi and found people left their doors and cars unlocked with the windows down and their stuff inside. I asked why people do that and what about thieves they said "who will lose a hand for a phone?"
@@hajjdawood That doesn't sound true at all. While Saudi certainly feels very safe from serious violent crime, the theft is out there. I know people who had their actual cars stolen and used for drifting in the desert, where they found it crashed and rusted. It was the 2000s so maybe that's harder now with the ubiquitous street cameras.

I go to KSA for work several times a year, and I love it. It is an amazing country, and very safe to visit. I definitely enjoy their affinity for coffee!

When renting apartments, start the contract with six months only. Months made friends with the people, and then they will tell you if you have been deceived, so you change the apartment or not, as for clothing, you can wear whatever you want, provided that it is below the knee for the sake of public morals, the Saudis are friendly and welcoming people and love to help others, there is no need to worry about this Side, welcome back

The driving is crazy. Make sure to look both ways because they will drive the wrong way… even on highways lol. Kids sitting in the window while the car is moving or standing in the sunroof while dad is driving… You can see someone driving with a newborn in their arms, no car seat and to them it’s no problem but it’s them being naive, they truly don’t know as they don’t have the same laws and upbringing as we’ve had in the states. Im a native New Yorker and been living in KSA since 2012 and one of the first things I noticed was the driving. I remember saying to my husband how much Allaah is protecting these people and how it’s amazing that there aren’t MORE accidents. 11 years later I still feel the same. As for the people and the safety though… it can’t be beat. I have no problem sending one of my sons out to the store in the middle of the night. No gangs, no drunks on the corner, no heroine addicts about to fall over, no drunk driving, no thugs milling about looking for a fight. I’ll never get used to the driving or the 115 degree weather but I couldn’t imagine my 5 kids living in the U.S. All the school shooting, drugs and pronouns… they can keep it.
I appreciate your honesty mam, and I think its about time you get used to our driving "condition" and discover the Saudi driver inside you , you may even start your drifting and racing hobby. Go get'm girl! hhhhhh kidding😜

I pay 40% in taxes so to put it this way if I made 100k sar a year. I bring home 60k sar a year. And I would still have to pay different state taxes. Tax on my house…. Medical insurance …. Retirement …… just so your informed. An American citizen has to stay out of country for 322 days of the year to get a tax break. Anything made more than 118k will be taxed for making more than that.
There is nothing you could miss in America, really. They all live in secularism and people accepting anything that has to do with mental illness and embrace it instead of helping them to stay away from it. Great to hear that you live in a right place, brother
IMO, the guy is a bro, a macho, and it's easier for him to be himself and not be judged in any country that is not "woke". in this day and age in America, Canada, and almost all Western European countries, there's a lot being shoved down your throat as a conservative that you can't reject or resist without expecting consequences. in a way, for a conservative, it's liberating, you have a space to express your opinion without any worry about being marginalized or oppressed. You have to pray for the LGBTQ idols, you can't say that men and women are different, and in the US, as a white male, he has the disadvantage of being white to top all that. So to raise a child and teach him/her what's intuitively right or wrong can be scary, you'll be walking on thin ice, thinner in some states than others. California, Sweden, and Canada, those are even worse than what he's basing his opinion on in Texas. Plus the safety concern gap between Saudi and the US, especially in Texas, it's not even a fair comparison anymore!
I'm from Texas and I love my state so much but yes, gun violence here is awful statistically speaking. Everyone's strapped at parties and if some dummy wants to get in his feelings, a gun is the fastest way to handle grievances. It's horrible.

@@violamarcos4665 Based on islamic laws, a Muslim (man) is allowed to marry a non Muslim woman, whereas the opposite is NOT allowed. The biggest reason could be that men (mostly) have more effect on women regarding convincing them to reasoning about some matters in daily life when (some) women need guidance. Besides that, sane women will definitely follow their men whenever they sense facts and reality about certain things.

The driving is crazy. Make sure to look both ways because they will drive the wrong way… even on highways lol. Kids sitting in the window while the car is moving or standing in the sunroof while dad is driving… You can see someone driving with a newborn in their arms, no car seat and to them it’s no problem but it’s them being naive, they truly don’t know as they don’t have the same laws and upbringing as we’ve had in the states.
Im a native New Yorker and been living in KSA since 2012 and one of the first things I noticed was the driving. I remember saying to my husband how much Allaah is protecting these people and how it’s amazing that there aren’t MORE accidents. 11 years later I still feel the same. As for the people and the safety though… it can’t be beat. I have no problem sending one of my sons out to the store in the middle of the night. No gangs, no drunks on the corner, no heroine addicts about to fall over, no drunk driving, no thugs milling about looking for a fight. I’ll never get used to the driving or the 115 degree weather but I couldn’t imagine my 5 kids living in the U.S. All the school shooting, drugs and pronouns… they can keep it.
I appreciate your honesty mam, and I think its about time you get used to our driving "condition" and discover the Saudi driver inside you , you may even start your drifting and racing hobby. Go get'm girl! hhhhhh kidding😜

I pay 40% in taxes so to put it this way if I made 100k sar a year. I bring home 60k sar a year. And I would still have to pay different state taxes. Tax on my house…. Medical insurance …. Retirement …… just so your informed. An American citizen has to stay out of country for 322 days of the year to get a tax break. Anything made more than 118k will be taxed for making more than that.
There is nothing you could miss in America, really. They all live in secularism and people accepting anything that has to do with mental illness and embrace it instead of helping them to stay away from it. Great to hear that you live in a right place, brother

IMO, the guy is a bro, a macho, and it's easier for him to be himself and not be judged in any country that is not "woke". in this day and age in America, Canada, and almost all Western European countries, there's a lot being shoved down your throat as a conservative that you can't reject or resist without expecting consequences. in a way, for a conservative, it's liberating, you have a space to express your opinion without any worry about being marginalized or oppressed. You have to pray for the LGBTQ idols, you can't say that men and women are different, and in the US, as a white male, he has the disadvantage of being white to top all that. So to raise a child and teach him/her what's intuitively right or wrong can be scary, you'll be walking on thin ice, thinner in some states than others. California, Sweden, and Canada, those are even worse than what he's basing his opinion on in Texas.
Plus the safety concern gap between Saudi and the US, especially in Texas, it's not even a fair comparison anymore!
I'm from Texas and I love my state so much but yes, gun violence here is awful statistically speaking. Everyone's strapped at parties and if some dummy wants to get in his feelings, a gun is the fastest way to handle grievances. It's horrible.

Based on islamic laws, a Muslim (man) is allowed to marry a non Muslim woman, whereas the opposite is NOT allowed.
The biggest reason could be that men (mostly) have more effect on women regarding convincing them to reasoning about some matters in daily life when (some) women need guidance. Besides that, sane women will definitely follow their men whenever they sense facts and reality about certain things.
