  • Do you want to improve? Or are you coaching the next generation of stars? Then this is for YOU! ⭐️
These funny eye-to-hand exercises will help you and your players improve quickly.
Eye-to-hand coordination is crucial for table tennis players for several reasons:
Precise Ball Tracking: Players need to accurately track the fast-moving ball to time their shots correctly. Good eye-to-hand coordination ensures they can follow the ball's trajectory and position themselves to respond effectively.
Timing and Accuracy: Proper coordination helps players hit the ball at the right moment with the correct part of the racket, improving shot accuracy and control. This is essential for executing various spins, smashes, and defensive moves.
Quick Reflexes: Table tennis is a fast-paced game requiring quick reflexes. Eye-to-hand coordination allows players to quickly react to their opponent's shots, adjusting their hand and body position almost instantaneously.
Consistent Performance: Consistent eye-to-hand coordination helps players maintain a steady performance level. It reduces errors and enhances the ability to return difficult shots, leading to a more reliable game.
Strategic Play: Advanced players use their coordination to execute strategic plays, such as placing the ball in difficult spots for the opponent. This requires precise control over the ball's direction and speed, directly linked to how well their eyes and hands work together.
Overall, strong eye-to-hand coordination is essential for mastering the technical and strategic aspects of table tennis, contributing to a player's overall skill and effectiveness in the game.

My favourite female player is Park Mi Young from Korea. I particularly admire players who specialize in defensive play, like legendary Jacques Secretin. They are rare, they are like preciios gems. And Park Mi Young - to me - has everything it takes. She is a genius of defensive play, her chops "defy" the laws of physics, watching her play is like watching magic. She is my role model, as I am a female and a defensive player, too.

As far as male players go, I like Vladimir Samsonov very much. And Timo Boll, too 🙂

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Having a role model is very important for a table tennis player's development. Park Mi Young is a very good player with an interesting style of play. Simply a fantastic role model :-)
