2015 for me. Lost my mother, my job and benefits, accidentally killed my own cat of 15 years, had to move and then became homeless. Things are mostly better now though.
Most of the Covid year was great for me. Because of doing school online I had a lot of time to go places and just have fun. Didn't have to worry about missing school. It only got bad at the end when everything just felt depressing
For me, 2021 was worse because whilst 2020 felt novel continued lockdown and taking my GCSEs made me depressed for a while in 2021. So glad I am out of it now.
2020 till now has been awesome! Had a year where I didn’t have to deal with people, had time to think and sort out my mental health, and business has been booming since. A repeat would be awesome!
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger seems to apply to these situations. Technically people would die, but death in this situation would mean wiping out of all humans, which doesn't happen. Therefore we tend to come out even stronger than before and better prepared than before. Just look arounds us today, so many of the technologies that we use today were either invented or accelerated due to the world wars. It's just amazing what we are capable of when survival instincts takes the front seat.
If it happened again most would rush to Facebook to complain about or TikTok only a very few would put pen to paper so ironically in the future there still maybe more information about 536CE then about any future catastrophe.
2020 was a treat looking back. Sure it was a scary time but it was peaceful... No war, no inflation...people actually realised whats important. And now it's like it never happened and people have changed for the worse imo, which may not be directlt their fault as the saying goes a hungry man is an angry man.
I mean, sure it sucked, but there are probably dozens if not hundreds of other points in our history which were far worse. Being thrust in the Great Wars wouldn't have been fun, nor would the period of the Black Plague, Spanish Inquisition, being born a slave in any point in history, being a victim of a Viking Raid, etc. We live in relatively peaceful times with advanced technology compared to how violent it was in the past and how limited our knowledge was compared to now, though unfortunately problems and difficult times will always exist. The outcome of 2020 might have been comparable to the Spanish Flu if it had happened a hundred years ago. Technology has advanced a lot. But in the end, it depends where you live. For the people in Ukraine and Gaza, the last two years and six months respectively have been the worst they've experienced in a long time in terms of a time to be alive. People in Haiti are going through a particularly rough patch as well. So it depends where you live and when.
I fully agree, but he did say at the beginning that everyone's experience is different, and he was just talking about when was the objective worst time to be born on the planet Earth
@@Smethells2023 Maybe, but hopefully not. Humans have certainly made a mess of things, but the earth will heal in time. Humans are also quite resilient. But it remains to be seen if our planet will continue to be habitable in the distant future.
Ever since 2020 every year that I've experienced has been better than the last I mean here in Southeast Missouri there was no lockdown and nothing particularly was changed other than Walmart's weren't open 24/7 anymore so things are absolutely great
I found the covid times to be surreal more than anything. Fortunately i had just started a job in a hospital lab. Driving there was weird. Empty streets, silence.... Just odd.
im willing to bet if something similar ever happened scientific priority number 1 would be getting the dust out of the sky and we could get it mostly fixed in less than a lifetime
I don't have time to watch right now, but I will. However, I wanna point out some silly BS: According to the Chinese zodiac, I'm a dragon. The year of the dragon comes every 12 years. 2024 is the year of the dragon. That means 2012 was also yotd. So was 2000. Did a quick search now, guess what, 536 also year of the dragon. Apparently, the world keeps fkn ending in the year of the dragon. Funny?
To be born is to suffer. No being has consciously chosen to be "here" we are all forced to be wherever we appear ro be now in time and space. THIS is the trajectory of Totality. We have been pulled into ITS story without fully knowimg why. The story is never fully revealed to ITSELF." Hello infinite self in another form". Everything is the ONE appearing as the many. The only action upon realisation of this within ITSELF is surrender to what is.
Well it's likely that it hasn't been in any of our lifetimes. Thing is people today have grown up in a pretty tame world relative to what it could be and has been. So they dont have a real perspective of how bad bad can get. Its like hearing about Normandy, whatever idea we think we can muster about what it felt like to be there, you can not scratch the surface of what it really felt like. Only way to truly know something is to experience it, n without it your perspective can never be sufficiently indicative of that things true nature.

LOL, no. Try 536 AD - Volcanic eruption on Iceland brought about a volcanic winter that lasted nearly 15 years, blotting out the sun for 1.5 years of that to the point that you had snow storms and frost in summer, sunshine no longer than 3 - 4 hours a day, massive famines due to crop failures, and humankind weakened to the point that the Justinian Plague tore through Eurasia killing up to 100 million people, not to mention brutal wars of conquest for resources and their very survival by various European, Asian and Middle Eastern empires that only exasperated human suffering and death in the 150 years that followed 536 AD. So fuck 2020! 🤣 It surely isn't even near the top 50! There are enough years in the 14th, 17th, 19th and 20th centuries that deserve a spot.
