    "God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him." The words of Friedrich Nietzche have echoed through generations. Although many know and even quote the statement, only a few people truly understand its meaning. Because just like much of Nietzche's work, there's more there than meets the eye. This is the story of Nietzche, the man who killed God.

    Got an exam on Nietzsche this Friday, he's quite an interesting man, "If God were real, and died, would you still treat others with the same values that he promotes?, or do our values come from an outside force? Are the values we promote really ours if we require a God to actually act upon them?"

      @MegaBeeYT หลายเดือนก่อน +27

      @@matthewboire6843 Technically mine, but it's more an adaptation of Nietzsche's actual problem with God as a concept,, he saw Gods as problematic because people lived for the values of God or Gods, when instead he believed that each person should search for their own value in life, and that stripping that away from a person was inherently wrong. He also mocked the profoundly religious people in saying that if God is the only reason that they don't do bad things, then they're still bad people, because a good person doesn't need a God to tell them what's right and wrong, a good person wouldn't need anyone to tell them because they themselves would already know

      @@twa9995 imagine you're on a train. This train is heading somewhere unknown, and to tell you the truth, you're wondering if it's even going anywhere at all. On this train are various things, like other people and activities, more or less good. No matter how many times you ask people where the train is going, they'll either tell you they don't know, or they'll tell you a story about why we're on this train. But these stories often differ from person to person, so you don't really know who to believe. In the end, nobody seems to really know, and you might be sad about that, because this train could very well be going nowhere. In the end, however absurd it may seem, it doesn't really matter that there's no direction. Maybe the path the train takes is what justifies its journey. The goal would seem to be no more than an excuse to undertake the journey. That's why we say "In a journey it's not the destination that counts but always the path taken, and the detours especially."

    I have started reading “thus spoke Zarathustra” lately, I feel strange empathy to him. His metaphor of zarathustra overcoming what he has created- the virtues or morality- so humanity can reach true freedom and stop our despise for the world.
    He saw the shallow basis of new beliefs and even new religions believers. We weren’t the same, so we should change. He had the huge effect on philosophy.

      Unfortunately, it's not that easy to understand the world. There's only so much we can know, so theories are born. The existence of God is just as much a theory as his non-existence. I don't think we can really conclude whether He exists or not. To do so, in my opinion, would be to become entangled in a beautiful illusion. Only believing is beautiful, but knowing is sublime. Maybe we can only know that we don't know. The sublime isn't necessarily beautiful, it's often even frightening. It's up to you what you choose. Sometimes illusion is better.

      That's often the idea. But the absurdity of the universe makes everything absurd, even your happiness or your thoughts. Order would only be a part of chaos in this sense. It's not easy to accept the absurd; you'd have to be crazy, to be aware of it, to be happy about it. For me, it's close to a mental gymnastics that I think is important to do. It's a line of reasoning that can only be understood with experience. Madness is innate, but wisdom is not. The greatest of the wise is only the master of fools. Happiness must be accompanied by naivety, they say.

    • @MegaBeeYT

      @@not_NEKO It's said that with knowledge also comes pain, because the more you know, the more you're aware of your own insignificance and the grandiose nature of the universe, which is inherently absurd. I gotta admit that I'm not without my downs, however my beliefs don't waiver in light of this truth, instead they're reaffirmed, because whenever I am pained, it's a reminder that I get to choose how to react to that pain, and ultimately, the way I react is what truly determines the life I get to live, and I'm the protagonist of my own life, just as you're the protagonist of your own life. Really, I like to think of my life like a tale, a book, a show, or a piece of art, and that one day, once I'm older or on my death bed, I'll get to show someone a couple pages, episodes, verses, and even if they don't know the scope of the project, they can still indulge in how beautiful it ends up being

      We've been working on this video for months and the voiceover was finished on the 15th of April, nearly 3 weeks before Historically's video was published. I think plagiarism is a very serious issue here on TH-cam and it's not something I would ever do or condone. Also, considering how long these videos take to make, it's literally impossible for me to have copied historically in just a couple of days. This is just a really wild coincidence, fate? Determinism? Who knows? But certainly not plagiarism. - Aperture

      There are dozens if not hundreds of monotheistic religions, and while many of them _claim_ to worship the same god they disagree on the nature of god so you can’t say there is only one. And a few of these, such as Pastafarianism, don’t even claim it’s the same god at all. (R'amen)

      Was looking for this comment. Nietzsche did not “kill god” and was not advocating the abandonment of religion per se, but rather observed that the transformation to a more secular society has already begun, and is a collective circumstance which we now face (i.e. if society no longer believes in religion, then what?)

    God was a concept invented by our ancestors in order to make sense of the natural world, to comfort oneself. Concept of God includes few moral and ethical rules which one must follow in order to live in order to be accepted by peers (society) which eventually determine ones survival.
    God isnt a person. I dont beleive in imporsonating God but the values and principles one must have as a human being,the most intelligent and santient species. I strongly feel and beleive that we are loosing this trait. We are becoming wild animals or even worse zombies. I have so much to say, i wish i could make others have my perspective. I am failling, and i am loosing myself. Everyday I feel more disconnected and distanced from the world. The thought of not belonging to this world tightening its grip even furthur. Sadly Money and power that comes with owning money is the only GOD that is left here. We have become wild animals who not literally but figuratively scavenge on each others mental peace. I am the person who no longer wish to play this game if capitalism. I am 30 years old and have seen this transformation in the society. The next generation will find current sick lifestyle as normal. This isnt normal,this is sick. Whoever read this in near future, just remember we were much better in the past. Capitalism has ruined us.our ignorance and incapabilty to contemplate our existence on cosmic scale has wasted this beautiful opportunity to experience human life. Please think for yourself, ask questions, have curiosity. Dont just be a rat in this pointless rat race. RIP all in advance. MAY DEATH MAKE YOU HUMBLE.

      It seems like you are a deep reflector, my advice would to consider the rational and logic arguments of whether the universe required a design due to its fine tuned nature, and also whether the universe required a first mover i.e. a caused uncause which could create the universe outside the universe.
