I see both points of view here. I love their harmonies, and I think they were beautifully done. However... This is a love song, right? "I give you all of me, you give me all of you..." and they're sitting around a table in front of a window, singing. The words and the visuals call for simplicity and restraint and emotion, while the harmonies are anything but simplistic. It creates a disconnect. At least for me. Like I said, I love these kinds of harmonies, but not necessarily in *every* song. If the song were about something sad, for example, these harmonies would be perfect. But this song isn't... is it? I can't even tell.
Katerine459 in my opinion there's not one way to enjoy this song. When I listen to the original by john legend, i have to think about my husband. He's my life, that makes me happy. When i listen to the version of the filharmonic, i think about my parents. I lost them very early and thats sad. But even then its a lovesong. I feel good, it reminds me how much we loved each other, and i still do. So it fits perfect, there's not only black and white. Lovesongs are made of emotions, and every person feels different
