    I was born into a Mennonite Brethern family who made it to Canada from Ukraine in 1926. My grandfather Abram A Wiens worked with MCC and began the first clothing and MCC thrift stores in Yarrow BC. He helped many German Mennonites after WWIi with Canadian citizenship and all their paperwork. Many had also been in Paraguay for some years because the Canadian government would not let families with any medical problems enter Canada anymore. There were other reasons as well, perhaps they had filled their quota and Mennonites also had to promise they would be farmers, and some like my family still are. It’s great my grandson by name of Archambeault, who loves the Lord wants to take over soon. 😊( grandpa would be astounded by a non Mennonite name)My grandfather must have known this story but never talked about it.
    He was in the white army in Ukraine and lived in Tiege, Sagradovka right close to where Chernobyl sits. One night the reds ambushed his group of Mennonite soldiers,who were serving in the Selbststutz (Mennonite villages protection). One by one the men were taken out of the cell according to the alphabet and shot. It gave Grampa time to think and while he messed up his new boots(so the Reds wouldn’t steal them) he found a Bible tract and accepted Christ as Savior. When they called his name he wouldn’t confirm who he was and because they kept a record they just drank the night away and got bored. Eventually someone said “ah this one has some courage. Let’s let him go” When he got home he found his mother had been up all night praying!!!! Praise God.
    I’m so grateful I found this story. What a lesson it holds. I will make sure to pass it on to all my family. It’s so Important.
    Where can I get this book? Please would someone let me know or where I can get more of this man’s information. THANKYOU for sharing this.
    From our farm near Fort St. John B.C. Canada. ✝️🙏🏻❤️

    Because I was born into and grew up in an Old Order (horse and buggy) Mennonite community in Berks Co., Pa. this video got my attention. I was unaware that some of the Mennonites had joined with Germany's politics of the day, i.e. "purification efforts/agenda". I thought we were the victims, and "they" could come after us at any moment - even present day. (Btw, as a child my solution was to assimilate and stop with the weird dress code and lifestyle. That way THEY wouldn't be able to pick us out, and slaughter us too.) I remember being taught (based on the Martyr's Mirror) the early Christians were persecuted, thrown to the lions, and escaped to the Catacombs, etc.. I remember that perusing the Martyr's Mirror as a child was the source of nightmares. It occurred to me this morning that because of the "God and we" belief ALL Mennonites are now being saddled with guilt for what some Mennonites did hundreds of years ago. Stop that! I personally refuse to download and carry guilt for the decisions made/consequent actions of people several hundred years ago. IN THEIR SHOES we would have done the same. That said, while I'm grateful to become aware of this aspect of history, it reaffirms for me that human nature is human nature - Anabaptists included. Also, Chester Weaver generalizes way too much. One example, saying "most Jews are atheist". Simply untrue. My suggestion for anyone sincerely interested in this history do your own unbiased (if you can!) research. Identifying as Mennonite/Anabaptist is in itself a huge bias. God/Love is omni-present...everywhere present. Always was, always will be.

    • @fredericklmeade2947
      @fredericklmeade2947 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If not most, then very close. Roughly half of those who identify as Jewish are atheists. With the growing popularity of secularism it will indeed be most soon, if it is not already.
      This is borne out in my personal experience. I know know several Jewish people. None of them is religiously observant and most of them are indeed atheists.

    I have a few comments. Nazi is an abbreviation for National Socialist German workers party aka National Socialism. In hindsight there were several obvious lines crossed such as agreeing to stop sending aid to fellow Christians in the USSR, and the pastor's agreeing to support the earthly socialist regime. An obvious contradiction is the German mennonites not sending aid to their USSR brethren, but then hating those of Jewish ancestry for oppressing their USSR brethren with communism. Also most importantly, terms such as racial purity/impurity are based on Darwin's belief that some humans are more evolved and better than other humans. Mr. Weaver used that term several times in historical context, but did not have time to specifically address the issue. The Christian view is there is one race, the human race, with different ethnicities. Every person is created in God's image and equally valuable. This is a good reminder of the danger of the idolatry of elevating allegiance to earthly governments or leaders above God.

      haha the irony of trying to blame racial purity and racism on darwin and evolution and there appears a literal bloody fascist /nazi ranting about japhetic white people, evoking the bible-based racist theory that jewish and colored people are inferior because they are the cursed descendants of ham and the discarded descendants of sham, showing in practice that many racists /nazis had their racism rooted in interpretation of the bible, and not darwin or evolution.

    • @eric-jr2nf
      @eric-jr2nf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zelenisok No, this is an American and colonialist thing. They just used the Bible to explain their false theory of color/continent groups. (But I agree that racism doesn't come from Darwinianism).
      But nowhere does the Bible define Japhethites as this thing called "white people" (whatever that means).
      Also, the Bible deals with lineages patrilineally, so if a Swedish MAN has a son with a Nigerian socalled "hamitic" woman the child is of the lineage of Japheth according to this system, but not according to the commenter above and racialists in general.
      Also, Japheth's lineage produced Persians and Afghans, yet these are often excluded from these white identitarians. In America also, "white people" never excluded Jews.
      Also, what destroys this idea of the 3 sons of Noah being 3 "races" is that Ham produced both Egyptians, Ethiopians AND Canaanites (located in the Middle East and not Africa). Are they willing to say the powerful Egyptian empire was a "black" civilization? They have to, to keep up this doctrine. Also, Canaanites are never described by skin color or really any other phenotypes. In fact there are very few descriptions of the physical features of all these nations described. Also, the 3 sons of Noah were never described as forming any super-alliance of races. The Jews, Edomites, Midianites, Arabs and more were never described as one "Shemitic race". Such an identity meant nothing to the various SEPARATE nations.
      Also, in fact the lineages of the 3 sons of Noah were each DIVIDED by God at the tower of Babel to PREVENT them from uniting. That includes dividing "whites" from "whites" then, and sure enough, the Dutch, French, English, Danish, Polish etc. have different languages and are thus divided from each other. This would mean God does NOT want them to feel like one group, like these color identitarians want.
      Also, it is not at all clear that Japheth is Indo-Europe and Shem the Middle East and Ham is Africa. In the Middle Ages there were different ideas on who Shemites are and Japheth. Some said Japheth was Asia! And some today say Japheth produced nations in BOTH Europe and Asia.
      Also, if Japheth=Europe, Ham=Africa and Shem=Asia, that would mean the Chinese are the same race as Jews and Arabs, haha! You quickly see how ridiculous it is to read 17th century race categories into the Bible's different system of lineages. Where do Native Americans fit into this? Australian Aboriginals.
      Lastly, Noah's prophecy is quite vague, but taken how these people want to abuse it, it doesn't fit with anything they say.
      Genesis 9:27: "God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant."
      So, is Japheth (which they think usually means white Europeans) today living in the tents of Shem? Does Europe live in the Middle East/Asia? Haha. It also says Canaan shall be Shem's servant in the verse before that. Canaan comes from Ham, so is often assumed to be the blacks, so are all blacks still serving Europe and the Middle East? That means they agree with the leftists who say blacks are still heavily oppressed, haha. But actually this means emancipation must be rolled back. This would mean they are arguing to enslave fellow Christians who just happen to be "Canaanites". But it also means all these "whites" must move into the tents of the Arabs and Jews to be right with God! You see how easy it is to take apart this color/continent group ("race") interpretation of the Bible. It is completely removed from context and makes the Scriptures look like nonsense.

      Good questions! At a bare minimum, its a dire warning not to call evil good, whether its things like abortion and sexual immorality pedaled mainly by the "left" or the vocal white supremacism and anti-immigrant rhetoric from sectors of the "right". Right along with that is the dire warning to avoid idolizing any leader. Beyond those bare minimum, the church needs to find ways to show a different path and to support those harmed by evil. God help us!

      The Nazis railed against the liberal and marxist dangers to the white west, how they are bringing abortion, and socialism, and want to destroy family values and traditional views. And then they started persecuting union leaders, liberals, socialists, communists, Jews, LGBT people, non-white people, everyone was a danger and had to be put into concentration camps. And pacifists too, because they dont want to 'defend' against the 'dangers'.

    I grew up with the children of the woman mentioned at the end. When my husband, with advanced history degrees, heard the story, he researched. Mennonites were guards at Stutthof. They all lived on the street where her grandfather did after the war. What is overlooked in this talk, is that MCC sent them aid. MCC has some things to own up to. The American Mennonites are not innocent. My Jewish friends will not use the term Nazi. It was not used within Germany. They only use the term Germans. The reason? Evil does not just appear. Evil starts slowly within very normal circumstances. I see the movement from the ‘I and we’ into nationalism with all that has happened recently. In more conservative Anabaptist congregations you see no masking, no distancing, no vaxing, more racism- all started in nationalistic roots. Evil has begun, yet they refuse to see.

      @@clintonjameshuddleston-apo9385 If thou shalt not kill was taken literally as thou shalt not kill God would have contradicted himself multiple times in the old testament. Instead he said thou shalt not murder. The old testament makes a clear distinction between killing someone in self defense and war, and going up and murdering someone for nothing. You should probably read though the old testament again. God told the child of Israel to go wipe people out multiple times. What do you think they did to them? Love tap them? No they killed them
