Yup glad there are others who know what thunder kings effect is. and he has 4 cards he could set with and has a dark bribe to negate heavy but he keeps all cards in hand and proceeds to just suck ass just like in all other games . But yet when he was no solemn or dark bribe he decides to set 3-4 cards for back row. It’s so cringe watching him play.

It's great to see all the love my friend Alex has been getting lately for this deck. We have had many late nights theory crafting random decks in yugioh and pokemon over the years. I remember playing against this at locals many times. Saw a lot of people try to pilot this deck and no one has ever been able to pilot it as well. Also at the end you forgot to mention the play is to attack with Lord British activate limiter and then chain honest so you get the honest boost and then double it with limiter.
IDK if this would matter when the shoutout was revealed 😂 Game 2 misplay: Joseph discarded Brain Control for Quickdraw. Quickdraw discards a monster for cost only.
I don't know how much Cimo and MBT know about the game Gradius, but I genuinely do love how each of the ships has an effect based on if it destroys something and they get a power up or an Option. So it's exactly like blowing up a ship in game and getting a power up icon. Archetypes that have super specific and lore accurate effects or effects that mimic other game mechanics (Admancipator with mining resources for example) are just the best, even if they suck
The spell card for quickdraw :( Makes no difference since you could just discard the Cydra for Quickdraw and then the braincon for Drill Warrior though

This is correct. BTT misses its timing from Drill Warrior's effect as its effect leads it to Special Summon itself and then immediately draw a monster from the Graveyard, meaning the response is now to the "draw monster from Graveyard" portion of the effect instead of the Special Summon. Card effects like Oppression and Solemn Warning work against Drill Warrior because the Special Summon is negated all together, preventing Drill Warrior from performing the second part of its effect triggered from the Special Summon and leaving it banished as a result.

I became interested in this deck after watching MegaCapitalG's video about it. Classy duelist in a suit with a cool spaceship deck! It was fun seeing it in action!
17:00 Cimo could have cleared the whole board here. When Lord kills a monster it can attack again and than when it destroys a monster through the 2nd attack it can pop the set. Edit: tbf Ryko interacts with Lord British during the damage step since it’s a flip effect, but he could have attacked the dandy and popped the Ryko but that would require luck.
This is a route he could have taken, but also this came up in tourny play as to wether hit the face down with a second attack and try to clear 3 or just pop it and try to deal with the remaining later. Ultimately it came down to hand knowledge and just gut instinct in where to double attack and pop vs just att and pop
they made a mistake using lord british it can activate his effects 2 times 1 - you activate another attack in a row, this trigger another effect again if you destroy another monster 2 - you activate - summon a token or destroy a trap card facedown. So it's a trade of three cards for just 1 lord british maybe that's the reason why the deck have 2 lord british and not 2 vic viper
Relinquished is the best pre-gishki ritual monster in the modern game. Non-destruction removal that combos particularly well with kaijus and lava golems is better than you'd think...especially with Pre-Prep existing. And, since Anima allows you to double board break when used in conjunction with regular Relinquished, it gets even better.
In game one Cimo had game, Lord British is NOT a once per turn, so with honest and limit remover you could have kept getting extra attacks and hit for game.
The official ruling from the Nashville 2010 Head judge was that if you selected to attack again you could te active it’s effect but had to pick 1 of the other 2 remaining effects(token or pop a set)
@@nilsbroermann7401 its because lord british explicitly states “a second attack” which means that after attack a second time, it cannot gain a “second attack” since its next attack would be its third. theres actually prior rulings with a bunch of cards including BLS that work the same way. One of them being that if you find a way to give BLS the ability to perform two attacks during a BP with a card like twin swords tryce, you cant attack twice, then apply BLS’s own effect to attack a third time since BLS explicilty only gives a second attack and not an additional attack
Fun fact, lord British space fighter is a reference to a game series called ultima. In the very first game, even though it takes place in the time of castles and wizards, you can purchase a spice fighter and go to different planets. It was never referenced or used again in literally any other games in the series

This means the last thing to occur is not the special summon of drill warrior but the add back of a card optional when effects miss timing if the last thing to occur is not the meeting of its activation trigger. Since the last thing to occur was not the summon of a 1500+ monster, bottomless cannot be activated a modern example of this are the drytrons, who special then apply an effect; making a format where torrential was bad since it could not be activated to any of them
Victory Viper can trigger it’s effect twice in a turn; you misplayed by choosing to make a token instead of attacking an extra time then making a token
I'm pretty sure you can't either oppresion nor bottomless the drill warrior cause its just coming back the same as purple mekk knight and psy framelord omega, he's not getting special summoned, he's just coming back.
Lord British would be an actually decent card for its time, if it had 600 atk more. I can guarantee that this deck was carried by its backrow for one for one trades, until they get lucky with a token.
If only MBT didn't instantly clear his field of the 2400 ATK monster every duel opening his board up to just get beat up. Cimo wasn't really playing a way to clear it outside of MBT summoning another monster and letting it get Torrential'd.
1. We need a history of Tier 0. Can you do a video covering the tier 0 formats? ex. Tele-dad vs Zoodiac 2. Can you do a game of modern Yu-Gi-Oh with everything at 3? I don't think some cards are as busted as people think!
At 28:00 can you actually bottomless the drill warrior coming back? Shouldn't it miss timing due to being a when effect and drill warrior specials itself first, then recovers a card from grave so him being specialed isn't the last thing that happened?
Cimo's ranting about Gorz not being an alien is extremely confusing, seeing as his Zombie deck included DAD and he ADDED Krebons to it himself when the list didn't include the card originally, neither of which are Zombies. EDIT: You also can't bottomless Drill Warrior. Bottomless misses the activation timing thanks to how Drill Warrior works. Same goes for Torrential Tribute. You have to use something that negates the summon.

@27:54 May be wrong here, but I believe you cannot Bottomless Drill Warrior in this scenario, as it SS'ing itself and adding back a monster are not simultaneous effects, which means the GY add is the last thing to happen.
I don’t know when Vic Viper T301 shows up, but it makes the entire deck much better. Also Victory Viper XX01 has a support card, Power Capsule, that lets you apply one of it’s effects without having to beat over a monster. Machine Assembly Line also helps with getting enough attack to get over things, and if all you’re running are machines Solidarity helps a lot. Other than Solidarity, Hoshiningen gives a minor boost, and in more modern eras Hip Hoshiningen is easily accessible as a boosting tool. Of course instead of boosting your monsters you could hinder your opponent’s, and Burden of the Mighty is an option for anything other than links and xyz. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t have a problem. I can quit optimizing jank decks whenever I want.
Don't think it ever came up, but does Lord British keep gaining extra attacks as long as he kills tokens? It's not once per turn like BLS. If so, that makes it a pretty nifty card. If the deck was pure machine, it could utilize cards like Solidarity to boost it and its tokens to 2000.

Relinquished couldn't crack into GOAT but he did pull off a top for Rituals in Reaper format a few months ago. It's a threat if you've got a good pilot, but its not easy.

You cannot bottomless a drill warrior returning off its own effect. The last thing that happens is a monster is added from graveyard to hand, therefore bottomless misses the activation window. Same with torrential.

In game one Cimo had game, Lord British is NOT a once per turn, so with honest and limit remover you could have kept getting extra attacks and hit for game.
The official ruling from the Nashville 2010 Head judge was that if you selected to attack again you could te active it’s effect but had to pick 1 of the other 2 remaining effects(token or pop a set)

@@nilsbroermann7401 its because lord british explicitly states “a second attack” which means that after attack a second time, it cannot gain a “second attack” since its next attack would be its third.
theres actually prior rulings with a bunch of cards including BLS that work the same way. One of them being that if you find a way to give BLS the ability to perform two attacks during a BP with a card like twin swords tryce, you cant attack twice, then apply BLS’s own effect to attack a third time since BLS explicilty only gives a second attack and not an additional attack

Fun fact, lord British space fighter is a reference to a game series called ultima. In the very first game, even though it takes place in the time of castles and wizards, you can purchase a spice fighter and go to different planets. It was never referenced or used again in literally any other games in the series

I've seen someone non-ironically do really good with the space ship deck that also played Luminous Spark and Seal of Orichalcos.
Honestly I think Seal would of been really sick in to original build and at that erra if it existed! That awesome though

why? because drill warrior speical summons itself THEN adds a monster back. This means the last thing to occur is not the special summon of drill warrior but the add back of a card
optional when effects miss timing if the last thing to occur is not the meeting of its activation trigger. Since the last thing to occur was not the summon of a 1500+ monster, bottomless cannot be activated
a modern example of this are the drytrons, who special then apply an effect; making a format where torrential was bad since it could not be activated to any of them

You can double attack with Lord British and summon a token. The effects aren't only one per turn. So attack, attack again, summon token.

If only MBT didn't instantly clear his field of the 2400 ATK monster every duel opening his board up to just get beat up. Cimo wasn't really playing a way to clear it outside of MBT summoning another monster and letting it get Torrential'd.

At 28:00 can you actually bottomless the drill warrior coming back? Shouldn't it miss timing due to being a when effect and drill warrior specials itself first, then recovers a card from grave so him being specialed isn't the last thing that happened?

In testing there was a general extra deck for the just incase scenarios but never really came up in testing so wasnt registered
Cimo's ranting about Gorz not being an alien is extremely confusing, seeing as his Zombie deck included DAD and he ADDED Krebons to it himself when the list didn't include the card originally, neither of which are Zombies.
EDIT: You also can't bottomless Drill Warrior. Bottomless misses the activation timing thanks to how Drill Warrior works. Same goes for Torrential Tribute.
You have to use something that negates the summon.
He's insecure about his wins being invalidated. He seems to take his performance in these series pretty seriously.

@@NovatoEx I dunno. He makes a lot of excuses whenever he loses that I wouldn't call "playful banter." Guy hams it up to an obnoxious degree when he wins, but shuts it down quickly when he's losing.

FYI raioh has a second effect that lets you negate a summon. Which is better than having it be killed by battle by that very monster

@27:54 May be wrong here, but I believe you cannot Bottomless Drill Warrior in this scenario, as it SS'ing itself and adding back a monster are not simultaneous effects, which means the GY add is the last thing to happen.

i had a little space fighter deck in early duel links, was pretty fun. Granted i don't ladderclimb so no clue how good it would be.
I don’t know when Vic Viper T301 shows up, but it makes the entire deck much better. Also Victory Viper XX01 has a support card, Power Capsule, that lets you apply one of it’s effects without having to beat over a monster. Machine Assembly Line also helps with getting enough attack to get over things, and if all you’re running are machines Solidarity helps a lot. Other than Solidarity, Hoshiningen gives a minor boost, and in more modern eras Hip Hoshiningen is easily accessible as a boosting tool. Of course instead of boosting your monsters you could hinder your opponent’s, and Burden of the Mighty is an option for anything other than links and xyz.

Don't think it ever came up, but does Lord British keep gaining extra attacks as long as he kills tokens? It's not once per turn like BLS. If so, that makes it a pretty nifty card. If the deck was pure machine, it could utilize cards like Solidarity to boost it and its tokens to 2000.

Relinquished couldn't crack into GOAT but he did pull off a top for Rituals in Reaper format a few months ago. It's a threat if you've got a good pilot, but its not easy.

You cannot bottomless a drill warrior returning off its own effect. The last thing that happens is a monster is added from graveyard to hand, therefore bottomless misses the activation window. Same with torrential.
