AMC (AIR MOBILITY COMMAND) now has their Facebook page and every base such as Travis AFB or McChord AFB has their own official web page you can go to. i.e., www.amc.af.mil/ or www.travis.af.mil/About-Us/Space-A-Travel/. The more research you do the better. Check out bases like Cherry Point MCB or Naval Air Station North Island. IF IT HAS A RUNWAY, CALL THEM AND ASK THEM QUESTIONS. AND BE KIND TO THE PERSONNEL. GOOD LUCK

This video is old, but can Vets at 100% service-connected p&t receive base lodging? Is it free, or discounted? In, 2019 if charged. How much is a room? Thanks.

How do you sign up for a return flight at the same time? I just signed up for a flight to Korea in person with a letter from my husbands commander. The desk people didn't mention to immediately sign up for my return flight. Do you do this at the same terminal you leave from? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Your sign up is good for 60 days or until you FLY OUT of a location. Once you fly out you will need to sign up for that base again. I usually do it as soon as I land at my destination. Flying into a base does not erase your name from the waiting list.

I know this answer is way late, but I just saw this. You can not sign up for your return flight at the same time when departing. However, you can sign up just as soon as you depart that location. You are only taken off the list after a flight departs a location. Usually I sign up again just as soon as I arrive at my next destination. I guess you could sign up again while you are sitting on the flight, waiting to depart though. Just hope the flight doesn't get scrubbed before take off. Then you'd have to compete for another flight at your new sign up date and you'd lose all that seniority.

Respectfully, is the book you recommend still recommended? A lot of things can change in 5 years.
    THANKS!

They were updating that book every year or so, but I've heard that they no longer publish the book. You might want to double check that.

Are 100% disabled veterans allowed to fly on space A flights?

On Aug. 13, 2018, President Donald Trump signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2019, a $717 billion bill that will greatly enhance the U.S. military but also adds additional benefits for service members and disabled veterans.
One benefit allows “disabled veterans to fly Space-A on military aircrafts,” according to the Department of Defense.
