Pantera was my shit in middle and high school. I saw them for the first time in 1995, I loved the aggression and speed, and Dimebag + guitar = Godly sounds that shouldnt be possible. Straight metal legends!

Saw them in Chicago on this tour, back in 90 or 91ish.. still got my ticket stub in a box ,their 1st singed big real tour! Ive seen hundreds of live shows since I was 7 back in 76 Elvis Presley my 1st show and these guys sounded just as recorded. They are probably the TIGHTEST band ive ever seen live.
Cemetary gates is my favorite. It really shows Phil Anselmo's vocal range and Dimebag Darrell Abbott's guitar genius. Vinnie Paul Abbott was a master on the drum kit. And Rex Brown's bass lines complex and amazing, and very often mirrored the guitar like in this song towards the end. He matches perfectly with the melody. Amazing group. Great rabbit hole to go down!🥰😁

Phil has that deep sexy voice!!!!! He's actually a really talented singer. "Cemetary Gates" shows what his voice can really do and "Walk" is also a great song! It's cool watching you guys experience something I experienced in high school, on the way to the big rivalry football game. This song was new and came on our local rock radio station when he were locked in traffic going into the stadium. I'll never forget it. I knew hearing this, it was something special. And it's obvious you guys think so too. They are one of my all time favorites and always will be. Please, go down the Pantera rabbit hole. They just get harder and harder with every album which was almost unheard of, and against the wishes of the record label.

I remember when I first heard this band back in 1989, they were unique because they mixed thrash metal with groove. Still sounds killer today 🤘

Megadeth was my favorite band waiting for the 90s. And then I found out about Pantera. Holy s*** these guys are good. Luckily enough I got to see them several times. RIP Brothers

They were a glam band before they made it big, then proceeded to get heavier and heavier. A lot of modern metal is shaped by what Pantera did.

This video was filmed at a club back in 90 or 91 . Called the basement I was there when they did this video . They also did another video for the song heresy . I was 18 and crazy . The video doesn't do it justice you had to be there.

I was pretty heavily into pre-Phil Pantera (I Am the Night is still a really damn good album that holds up) and they fell off my radar for a minute or two and suddenly this video shows up on Headbangers Ball and it punched me right in the face....then a bajillion soundalike bands popped up but no one could compare....
