I read somewhere when Rhaenyra after 3 years still bitter towards Alicent for marrying her dad, "Rhaenyra should get over it, it's been 3 years"
And now after 10 years , Cole still bitter towards Rhaenyra and her innocent children.
If you think about it, Cole is a kingsguard because of her, Cole said, "everything that I had is because of you"..
For 10 years she let Cole around, and not use their secret against him is her doing a favor for him.
She can just tell the King that Cole 'defiled' her, no witness, Cole will be dead by now, but instead she let Cole go to Alicent arms.
But if she does it, she will also ruin her name which will have bad impact to her status being the heir of the throne

Criston Cole, a humble man who risks everything he has for Rhaenyra and ends up being one of her toys, almost loses everything, but Allicent saves him.
God I hated him he literally blurted her secret out in seconds to alicent while rhaynera kept her mouth shut and never told anyone and he could’ve said no to her she wouldn’t have gotten mad at him or blackmail him because it would put her in a catch 22 if she did that then she would have to say she slept with someone and it would put her under a microscope again with the king and everyone else. Then he wanted to marry her knowing she had responsibilities and only to get his honour back. He thought it would be that easy to just runaway with her bullshit her father and everyone else would’ve hunted her down and she would’ve been charged with treason or executed as well as him.
I don't think he proposed her to run away only to "recover is honor", but he also loved her and put everything at risk for her. He could just have said no if his honor was his principal affair

And if he was truly a man of honour, he wouldn’t be a hypocrite to call Rhaenyra a “spoiled cunt” then being the pretentious guy he is in front of Aemond as he regarded women to be the embodiment of mothers.

Ser Criston's selfishness and jealousy coupled with Alicent and her own love of Rhaennyra, created two bitter jealous hateful ppl. But no one can hate you like someone you love. Ser Criston caused all of this more than anyone and because of him how many people died, people who never even saw or spoke to any of the people involved. How many women were raped, villages burned, and people brutalized all because Ser Criston loved a woman, who didn't run away from her birthright with him. It's funny how can respect his moral code in one way, and then see it as totally corrupt in another. He doesn't once consider how this affects not only Alicent's children but Rhaenyra's whom he treats appallingly or the people who will suffer.
I can't hate the guy. He was broken hearted and have not 1 but 3 contender for Rhaenyra's affection. - Laenor, Daemon and Harwin. He convince and crownd Aegon to be king cause he wanted revenge for a "broken vow" and points at Rhaenyra as if she forced him to stab her with his D. People saying his a simp cant undertand his character at all.
