- How to make your football boots last longer - in today's Unisport Uncut, JayMike and Joltter discuss some tips on how to make your football boots last longer and give them a longer lifetime, both when it comes to durability, but also to prolong the time in which you can use your new football boots. It's never fun to buy a new pair of football boots only to have to stop wearing them because they've either been worn out, gotten too small or for other reason have broken down - and if you want the football boots to last longer and be more durable, we have a few good tips for you that you can use in order to get a longer lifetime out of your football boots. As Joltter and JayMike have both played football for 20 years or more, both guys know what it means to have to get new football boots, but if they had known these tips and pieces of advice, maybe they could've made their football boots last longer.

Lads, congratulations, you have made my day a little bit better... and I just had an entire day in an exclusive nike boot launch event for the phantom visions with meeting football stars from top league teams and mucking about on the indoor court they had in a perfect weather day... but this video was needed, it needs to be seen by every friggin person who should ever have anything to do with football.
I work in a football retail store and so often I see people bring in their destroyed boots after having owned them for only a couple months wondering why they are like they are, and when I appraise the boots and listen to their stories, it is all too obvious that they have not taken the proper steps toward taking care of their boots, and it hurts my soul.
I've had my first pair of boots for three years (some Adidas 15.1X's) and they're in phenomenal condition and I still take them out for a spin occasionally because I just really enjoy them and look after them. I've had my nemeziz 17+ for a whole year now, and they're still 100% functional and retaining much of it's original glory for aesthetic, simply because I looked after them properly after watching a video or two and asking a professional.
You would have thought it was common sense that when you invest a significant amount of money into just about anything, that you do the appropriate research concerning the prolonged maintenance of the item(s) or at least the dangers and risks of ignoring them. Alas, the human species continues to baffle me as we present ourselves as the smartest beings on the planet and simply neglect to use the common sense developed into us through millions of years of use of our frontal cortex's, as well as the bountiful (and rather excessive) resources we have created for ourselves... way to go hoomans!
You missed the massive point/procedure of taking care of your shoes with taking the in-soles out and stuffing some newspaper in the boots for a couple minutes to absorb the moisture and airing them out naturally, not near a heater or anything. But you did make a video about the proper care of your boots and you did mention this, but I still think it would have been essential to this video to make it complete.
All the same, well done with this video, it is an incredibly necessary video needed by the ignorant and oblivious. I thank you guys so much for surfacing this issue that assails the football populous on a daily basis, I hope everyone gets to see it, for their own good.

I own a pair of superfly 4's and they've lasted me 4 years playing through 4 seasons and pre season and Sunday league. Never thought they'd last so long and they're still going.
We in Iran use Zinc oxide adhesive tapes to strengthen the edges of the boots. It is highly recommended in hot air and AG surfaces where temp of the pitch reaches 70c.

I played with the first magistas (FG) three years on both artificial and firm "Winter/Summer" (without cleaning), wish the new boots would last longer...
I think it's the emphasis on thinner and lighter that makes it tough for boots to last. they do take a lot of abuse.

Ive got 3 boots that fits me. A superfly 4 diamond CR7, a Nike hypervenom 3 orange/green and a vapor 12 game over pack
here in Kerala we use boots up to 3,4 years we use boots like Sega a non popular company ,I think .it's Worth about 650 rupees means about 8 euro .this boot Sega is the best boot for our climate and situation .Nike ,addidas are seem but Sega is suitable for us for our budget.
Hi, one question. With all those boots sitting in the background, would they still be durable say when you wear them 5 years later after it has been sitting there on the shelf? would the glue degenerate if you dont wear them ala army boots?

Haven't had a pair last more than 6-7 months for the past 4 seasons. Always cleaned, however I find the upper separating from the sole often. I do 3 x 2 hour team trainings a week and weekend games.

Rn I have 3 boots I’m rotating on. My loved Mercurial Vapor 11s that tore down to the last piece (saving these for special moments), a pair of Evospeed 1.5s for rough trainings and own trainings, and last I have my superfly 5s bought in last week that I use in games and team trainings.

The polishing boot was so exhausted ,did you used it recently in any tutorial video?
i could add one more; try to brush your boots with the proper cleaning kit. soft toothbrushes are useful in this, just don't go full plastic brushes. it'll tore apart the threads that bind the boots, making it less longer to last.

What I usually do is use my pair from the previous season for practice and when I play on artificial grass and use my new boots for the practice before a game and when I play on natural grass.

To help boots dry, stuff them full of newspaper. It helps the boots dry quicker and kills some of the smell.
