    I see test voltage is 13.5v which is low, can we see a test @ 14.8v alternator charging voltage, or a bap voltage of 15.5-16.0v?, Applied to these pumps, as with adding voltage, current consumption comes down, and I hear walbro needs atleast 14.8v to shine. Not Knocking the dw400 it's a nice pump, but I think testing condition s could have yielded different results in a higher voltage setting, at straight battery power of 12.5-12.6v the dw400 probably walks all over the 525 walbro, due too less voltage with higher current draw.

    • @glhomni
      @glhomni 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't matter what voltage you compare them at as long as it is the same. The flow is almost linear when it comes to voltage so the difference between the pumps would be the same.

    Hey when swapping fuels, how long would you have to run the DW400 pumps dry before you damaged them. As i swap fuel the flow starts to slow down as tanks near empty. Is that ok on the pumps to drain fuel tank dry to get all the fuel out before swapping to other type of fuel. Just don't wanna burn my pumps.

    Who is running 50lb. of boost with only 1 fuel pump? Standard fuel pressure about 40 then add 1lb. fuel pressure for every lb. of boost. So at 70psi fuel pressure you would be around about 30lb of boost and thats a lot of boost for most people.

    • @sssmithVR
      @sssmithVR 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @El buckeye No doubt. I had 36lb. of boost on my civic making 713hp. But who runs 50lb of boost with a single fuel pump? Everyone I know run dual or triple fuel pumps once you get to those numbers.

    • @sssmithVR
      @sssmithVR 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @El buckeye at 36lb. I had a 10 gallon fuel cell E85 ran an external aromotive a1000 with Id2000cc injectors. But that was all we could do. Im currently building a CR-V to 500-600 hp. With a single in tank Walbro Hellcat 525. I'm boarder line going to a dual setup. Good luck on you build. 👍Race it, break it, fix it, repeat!

    • @sssmithVR
      @sssmithVR 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @El buckeye Nope. No intank pump at all. just the one external. Idk if it was the filter or the pump that held us back but 713 is where we ran out of fuel. so that makes sense on E85 at least. If we ran Q16 with meth injection im sure we could have hit much higher numbers. Or a dual pump setup but I thought that was plenty for a civic anyways. I was getting scared of the motor blowing up at that point because I didn't know how well it was built Unfortunately it croaked shortly after that due to the Darton MID sleeves. Still the most fun in a car I have had. I owned a 40 hot rod with over 1000hp and wasn't as much fun as the civic. cost a 1/5 of of the chevy too.

  • @superboogen

    with a fpr with a 1:1 ratio 100 PSI would be roughly 60 POUNDS OF BOOST ! I May be mistaken but what, ive seen data logging on true 1:1 ratio fpr's is there is a bout a extra pound of pressure per boost psi, so hmm as soon as i get to 50 or more psi ill consider Deatschwerks. highest I got on my twin walbro set up was 45 psi and they did well price to product wise. Deatschwerks seem to work well and are consistent not as dramatic of a loss.

    • @glhomni
      @glhomni 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some manufacturers use 55psi as their base fuel pressure. Those applications I have seen them running upwards of 40lb of boost. So yeah, you want to know what it flows at 100psi so you don't lose flow and run lean.
