You can change the max extension length(tmp2), movement distance (temp, every 10deg C over 0* is 1 pixel of movement), the max amount of pixels it can push/pull(tmp), and the element that blocks it (ctype) using different properties. look on the wiki for this. It will make your life easier as you can instantly open or close a valve.
Around 7:15 into the video the easiest solution to the piston pulling the titanium and fuel is to similar to how clone works use the fuel source or the titanium on the piston to blacklist it from pulling that material.
im pretty sure you need to set every individual fan wall you place, you cant just set one, because that only makes the one singular fan wall work using a larger brush may help also for airflow you need both an in and an out, else it just becomes a vacuum and air stops flowing after
Hey spike the piston doesn't have to be that short if you make pstn longer it will push further and in one go this means if the pstn is 10 pixels long it will expand 10 pixels if you spark it once. Edit: it will not expand exactly it's length so if it is 10 pixels long subtract 1 pixel so it will expand 9 pixels. I hope this Useless information helps

Suck, squeeze, bang, blow. The 4 cycles of an engine... I recommend watching some other TH-cam channels before attempting this again... because you're missing a throttle (butterfly valve), intake and exhaust valves (piston valves), and rotational energy from the crank shaft to an alternator via serpentine belt to generate power to charge the battery which charges a coil to the spark plug to ignite the fuel. Unless you have a crank driven magneto.. Then you have the cam timing belt to move the valves. Unless you do freevalve tech with electric solenoids, then you won't need a throttle. Or you can do timing by gear drive. As you increase the throttle opening it will register more air adding more fuel and accelerate. Then decelerate when closing the throttle. But I don't think this accounts of anything I just blabbed on about.

(You put POLO in a glass box thick enough to convert PHOT to NEUT. On the outside you put a 1 pixel layer of PSCN and then NSCN, which generates SPRK when it gets hit by PHOT.)

(i think its that order)
but when you let the fuel/oxygen in you have to close the fuel/oxygen or the explosion goes back in the tank causing huge ka BOOOOM

Experiment with DESL and glow plugs (basically hot metal that ignites DESL, a real thing in real life)

This isn't really (at all) how an engine works, but in a game like the powder toy, its pretty much as close as you can get

You could use DTEC(OXYG) with DLAY, as, if DLAY is SPRKed while it's still counting down, it resets the counter.
spike use prti and prto to make a one way that wont let fire through. and if you are using fancy display then deco it black.
Download the More Fuel mod, you'll have a lot of fun with it.

I dont think generating energy with moving pieces is possible in tpt. The best thing would be using a steam generator and DETECT to generate SPARK
