As a long time follower I appreciate the throwback. Traditional camping will still be around long after all the fancy shmancy rooftop tents and everything else have faded away.
My son and I built a super shelter a couple months ago. After we got it all sealed up, it was absolutely awesome. I learned a lot from you and Cody doing the super shelter all those years ago. It’s amazing that people can still learn from a show that was recorded all those years ago. Hooah Sarge.
Dave always have liked watching you on TV and then your videos and the fact that your cats speaks so highly of you is a recommendation that I would just have to heed
I use this set up a bunch camping at work. it’s fast, easy, and you stay really warm. I’ll switch to a tarp tent configuration, if there is heavy snow or rain, but for the most part this is my go to style. unless I bring a cot with me then I’ll do an A frame with bug net.
I do like the Baker tent. It was a Nesmith favorite. But then came along Col Whelen. The Frost River Whelen is pretty darn good and hardly any time to set up, keeping with the benefit of conveyance in mind.
Sometimes life truly sucks. Now, when I can finally afford a tarp like that I'm too damned old too sick and too stove up with spinal stenosis to be able to enjoy it. When every move you make hurt you so bad that you would scream if you saw it it would lessen the pain there are no Pleasures left. People enjoy your health and everything else that you have while you still have it. The cat really likes you. I have two cats. Wife died two years ago. The cats are all I have. Enjoy while you can.
I forgot to mention something else that will do. Those who struggle with God are his beloved, Israel (not the country). I think the wording of that is significant. We struggle with God, to me that seems along side him. Not for or against or because of Him, but with Him. Much love and prayers of strong spirit and blessings brother
I'm in a similar situation. Medical disability, blood clotting and blockages...being on blood thinners...can't carry myself, let alone a 40 pound backpack and gear. Getting old and becoming disabled sucks. And extreme pain from eyes open til eyes shut is enough to make you a homicidal maniac with suicidal tendencies. So, just take it one step at a time, one day at a time. And before you know it you are dead. And hopefully found some religion or faith to grasp ahold of, and hope your God is a forgiving one and effort in life pays off. Or. It won't. But u have to try

Can't remember where I picked up that term, but I have seen online, open-sided cabin shelters that are periodically placed in the Adirondacks that look like this tarp shape. Can you tell me where the "Baker" title comes from? Just interested!
