Fudge actually said in the post game interview something that I have always said ever since blaber became the starter: blaber is insanely good at pushing the limits of the champion. He always looked insane when nisquy picked karma. Enchanters enable him to play the way he excels at playing and it also fits with ls’s way of drafting
Riot fixed the yi taric funnel but they can't fix the fudge blaber funnel
LS enjoys playing balance and soft peeling kind of playstyle, not by choice but because everyone likes to play hard dive comps.
If we use yin and yang, LS by default chooses a balance of both, but will lean towards the yin side of drafting when required.

That game winning teamfight pay attention to Berserker. Incredibly high IQ he goes over to the wave and autos twice with chakrams to keep the sacks up. Then severum Qs to get max stacks and swaps to Calibrum. Swaps back to max stack chakram and melts everyone. Just so incredibly well played
I don't see enough people talking about this play. Watching it the first time, I wondered why he was after the minion wave but it all makes sense after rewatching it a few times.
Autos on minions don't reset chakram stacks
Yeah chakram autos only refresh duration on champions and epic monsters but because he used his q with the red gun on the wave he refreshes and gains additional chakrams

He was generally very solid throughout the game. Haven't seen any of his other games but he certainly looked like a top LCS ADC in this one.
The full AD draft wasn't even really that much of a concern if we're being honest, the healing and shielding from c9 as a total plus the olaf and camille true damage was so much more efficient than easy armor itemization
Also a thing of note, every champion but aphelios went revitalize this game, AND blaber built visage for the bonus shielding and healing to combo with soraka and his steraks. There's so much gold efficiency in the draft, rune and item choices here
What is very interesting about the game is that a lot of things went wrong for C9. From Summit and Blaber getting 2v2'd, Fudge probably should've had more CS but couldn't land Qs to stay in lane, getting a "weaker" soul and 1st Elder being stolen.
@@xavierarial24 its crazy how in control the game looked once the fights came around, even with those missteps. With more practice time, im extremely curious how high the ceiling will go for this group
@@just_n0va I think the biggest unknown is Fudge. If he can improve his mid performance just like he did last year from spring ---> Summer in top lane then it'll cut into the weakest part of C9.
The better he gets at mid , the less prio he'll give up which is important if you want games to not get too out of your control early with the opposing jungler or 2v2 making your life hell.
Scaling is about brushing away aggression in the most graceful way into your win condition. The better this team is able to do that, the more of a "wall" they'll feel to other teams.
We'll see repeats of those seraphine healing drafts where if you didnt kill them at 20 they just were immortal past a certain point.
@@xavierarial24 I think a lot of those things are a result of fudge not being able to boot camp in korea and the Korean part of the roster only having 3 days of scrims with blaber and fudge. The fact that they pulled out a win against a top team despite all these things bodes very well for C9 moving forward.

Dang Impact was the only piece holding EG in this game, clapped Summit with that counter pick (+ Summit's over extensions - same like yesterday with limited vision). C9 clapped them and Bezerker is a beast

I mean laning phase was over for summit after that early invade they did and summit had to give up wave under tower to move, and tryndamere still wasnt able to punish him properly, then started building randuins and doing 0 damage, he also could have dove camile couple of times with stacked waves

@@denzelyee4314 Yea thats what i mean, trynda had huge lead early, and didnt really manage to push it or make anything out of it, i wasnt watching proviews of either so i cant say, but either camille played really well to stay relevant whole game, or trynda just didnt punish at all after getting a whole level lead early due to their topside being much weaker on the blue invade

He has been known for his good drafts before, but some people kept saying he doesn’t know what he is talking about, because he is not a pro or a coach in the proszene, which is not even an argument tbh. I am glad to see he came to proplay and is now able to show his power in draft. Having games which are close in gold, but are clearly outdrafted. The commentators even once said this game in would be a close game in gold, because c9 only has a 1k gold lead, which shows they didn’t consider that fudge items cost way less.
Fudge's trust on LS draft picks for him is insane
If you check fudge's Twitter, LS showed him the soraka vs Viktor match up in a 1v1 before the game. The thing with LS is that he backs up his theories and seemingly insane picks with gameplay.

Well he follows the same thought process and he and ls are more or less scrim partners for testing out matchups like that even before he joined c9. I think it’s actually more likely that fudge would’ve liked to make these picks on his own but wasn’t confident in his teams ability to trust in him or play around him.
It’s not even the trust which is the most impressive. It’s the lack of ego. Trust me, many good mids wouldn’t want to play this style

@2:09 you can see the joy in LS's face when he sees Ivern banned. He knows it doesn't matter.
He's happy because it's message received. We don't know how to play against this, so we won't allow you to pick it. He also had the Soraka in his back pocket also. What will happen is that teams will start to index against the enchanter mid lane picks and c9 will then take the next step in adaptation

It’s really impossible to do anything if LS wants an enchanter because for instance here, soraka seraphine and sona are all still up. They’ll always be able to pivot and flex one of the enchanters anywhere which is amazing.
@@gadgets__ You're right, enchanter aint one champion, its an entire class! Soraka Ivern Seraphine Sona Lulu Karma you name it, they can play it. EG might have thought that Ivern was a single cheese pocket pick to wreck unprepared teams, but things are just getting started.

Honestly, at first glance he seems like the best adc in the west. NA might actually have a world top tier class adc.
I cant wait to see him on a champion other than Aphellios, but right now he might be the only ADC player in the country that makes Aphellios an insanely worthy of a first pick. I now understand why this champion is pick/ban in the LCK.
I'm glad Church9 had a 2--0 opening weekend. It silences a good portion of the haters that called LS delusional. You can''t deny results from games like this. He has a different philosophy on how the game works and he's got a team of guys that are fully invested in it and look at what happens when it all comes together. It'll be more curious to see if other teams adapt to his draft style or if they will continue to be headstrong and not respect it.

Back in the day Azubu Frost and deathball comps were all that was played... until heavy splitpushing comps came around. What i'm saying is, you *can* defeat defensive deathball comps, it's just nobody's played them for so long people mostly forgot how to do it.

I've been a consistent LCS fan for several years now, and I gotta say this is really exciting to witness. This is one of the first times I've ever seen a NA team develop win conditions that are so different from the other leagues. If C9 keep up their success we might genuinely see the top regions try things like Soraka or Ivern mid... which is nuts to think of as a NA fan.

@@krejman yep, but nobody realized, how insane it is. Cho is literally broken in at least 3 roles right now. Toplane I play him tank with demonic and frostfire. You literally become the strongest ap juggernaut in the game. You can delete squishies and your lane systain is impossible to get through, if you combine it with some freezing. Cho gath silence is in my opinion one of the most busted tools ever. I’m sure it’s no secret ap cho is insane as well, the champ has a stronger tool than ori ult on a 3-4 second cooldown and unlike other mages isn’t burstable. Silence everfrost q has to be one of the most unfair combos I was ever aloud to play.

Dude I'm absolutely here for it. Honestly Fudge is looking really clutch on these enchanters, it is NOT easy to keep up the cs he does... like holy christ look at the soraka auto attacks!? they take like a full 2 seconds to reach the minions.

And then the casters said smth like: "but if EG builds armor, will they have enough dmg to kill Blaber through the healing?"
WHAT is that 200iq draft bait. picking full ad to put the enemies iinto a dilemma: "more dmg to kill? or stat efficient armor?"
And the % armor pen is really good anyway so... getting around all armor isnt as bad as it used to be.

It could've been a bigger issue, but luckily Berserker went ham. This game shows that even with Trynd screwing up with C9's plan and dragging his team into their own scaling the draft of LS still came out on top. Promising things for the future.
I must say, I really like enabling Blaber's playstyle with enchanters. It's like doing pvp in MMOs or other games but you've got better gear than your opponent, you just plow through things and it's really good for morale.
And you saw that very dilemma play out when impact went randuin's instead of IE.

@@zz-fk4nl im not really a fan. LPL does play enchanters occasionally as well as supportive mids. This wont be surprise tech for them and at least some teams can run it over. C9 is probably not good enough mechanically and teamwork wise to stall the game to 30 minutes without giving up more than they can afford. Also can they swap roles and let blabber be on defense or support to vary the play options?
Edit also syndra or assassin not viktor for blind picks. Syndra or an assassin would potentially push soraka entirely out of lane. The drafts are really abusing viktor taking so long to ramp up. He does damage but he wont solo kill you unless you fuck up.
@@MrThedumbbunny why are you talking about teamwork on week 1 of lcs. summit and berserker have no problem playing more aggro as well as having good mechanics (summit was arguably top 2 top laners in lck despite being on a bad team, berserker is trailing behind gumayusi who was a top 2 ad), only question mark is fudge, and while fudge probably wont even break into top 5 mid laners, dont really think its much of an issue since simpler champions exist. fudge just needs more scrim time and getting adjusted to mid lane, as well as expanding on his champ pool. if a jungler is good at going aggro its easier learning how to play a tank like sej etc if the situation calls for it, plus being able to hold internal scrims whenever they want really helps accelerate learning and practice.
@@vonwaq sure summit can hold up but if you take this draft into an international competition top and mid get smashed instead of just top and blabber doesnt get to play the game. Blabber with losing mid and top got every neutral objective and more than his share of camps. Fudge would certainly get smashed by a top 10 in the world mid especially if they blind syndra instead of viktor. They both have the same weaknesses but syndra spikes much earlier but isnt as good late.

The guy who replaced teddy was afraid of this guy. Imagine if this roster made it in lock in. These players with the drafts are looking good. Hopefully we keep seeing it and force at least the top 4 teams to adapt to it.
Berzerk is stomping so hard in fights I honestly forgot what it was like to witness an adc with perfect teamfight intuition in NA. For christ's sake, going even with Berzerk is a losing lane at this point.

yeah... I really hate the Randuins. I'd be be much happier to see AD/armor items like Death's Dance or GA. Hell, even Thornmail would have more value for healcut. Honestly, though, Soraka healing and thresh peal made the AD comp so much less of a deal... especially after they got dragon soul.

That last fight was straight up from an anime. Allies losing. You back out, train, get stronger, come back and kill all enemies dragon ball z style. (Berserker leaving the dragon, goes to minion wave, stacks up his chakrams, murders)
at 42:55 after berseker flash over wall and use his ult . why does he go over to kill minions before going back to the fight ?
more chakrams and I'm guessing to buy some time till they are ready to go back in, they waited till after olaf GA to get used to go in.
But that's just a guess
1. To keep up his stacks on his chakrams. 2. It reset his guns, from red to white. this gives him more range before re-entering the fight.
2 reasons, to charge up Chakraborty and to use the minions to switch h the weapons.also he went in at the perfect time when all abilities on EG were spent and he can go in risk free and free fire on chakrams
He's keeping chakram stacks up while spending ammo to switch from red to green gun. Olaf and Camille have GA so they can buy time and soak enemy cooldowns. Turns into an easy clean up for Berserker.

Also isn't it stupid for impact to go randuins against 2 true damage champs when you can go thorn mail and free up your grevious wounds slot while also getting armor? Not that armor in that amount is relevant at all, especially for tryndamere vs that team. Kinda pointless to have a gold lead on someone if they lose to the shopkeeper

If his goal is to shake up the LCS, he´ll most likely suceed, but if they want to go big, the team has to get better

I think people are over thinking berserker's acctions on the last fight; I belive he just literaly flashed the engage and then, because he thought the fight was already lost he started pushng the wave. Then saw he could rejoin, pressed severum's q to refill/gain more chakrams and aa a couple of times xd
the thing is in lategame, trydamere has really hard time playing vs aphelios+tresh, since aphelios can just use turret to shread him and force his ult out from distance. Also they have camille ult to trap him down. The soraka pick is a death sentence in case the two teams go even in one fight. C9 will just be full hp in a couple of seconds. Anti healing Vs soraka is not that good, since she can remove it with her ult, or just wait for it to run out before healing. When they gave soul it was game over, baron dosen't matter, elder drake could have been good if they used it to oneshot team C9, but at that point of the game they are just waiting the inevitable loss,.
FINALLY. fcking finally, a coach that realizes how broken AD champs are, and teams having 0 AP means nothing, due to all the true damage on AD champs, that building armor is just useless.
LDR and Grudge are mad broken and efficient anyways that it doesn't really matter a full AD comp

The LCS is incapable of winning versus top tier LCK and LPL teams playing standard league. With that being said, if the LCS can go offmeta with weird, funky, flex drafts we might have a better shot at international events. I'm kind of excited for this year, it feels different.

And thsi is the type of drafts/play that'll get absolutely shiitsmashed internationally. The draft of no prio.
Internationally, soraka would've died 4:20 with xin moving to mid to shove out the wave with viktor, and leona holding bot river control into scuttle. Jinx is already back on the map, aphelios is recalling. Xin already has the strong buy from base, and so does jinx (vs counterparts.) They can take drake OR xin can path into a fullclear to topside(since he didnt take wraiths in this scenario). But he moves over to dragon after clearing wolves/gromp and starts dragon on vision, realising soon after it's not possible. Then running ALL the way top to krugs, losing even more pace vs olaf.
If they played properl; Topside doomed, mid doomed, botside is no control. I wonder what'd happen if this happens vs better teams.. and their jungler is SOFM fro example. It's GIGA doomed.
But because teams are makign huge fundamental errors, don't push matchups as hard, the game gets into the enchanter dream state.

I'm excited about C9/LS. But I'm worried about the amount of optimism and stuff I read regarding drafts/individual performance. This wasn't a good draft, or a good game. - Talkigna bout drafts, it is a matter of time until these things don't work anymore. First game of C9 they banned zed and the 2nd they got banned lulu/ivern against them (probably because teams are unfamiliar) But there's alot of matchups/champions that can deal extremely well with the drafts C9 has picked.
This should only work for a few more games, but considering it's NA I wouldn't be suprised.

It doesn't matter if you play 3 days together or 50billion years. This draft is not playable unless the opponent makes huge mistakes.
Furthermore, I really DO NOT grasp how people think LS has a gigantic brain for coming up with soraka mid. Fnatic played it ADC in season 10? multiple games, LS pushed for it, and it was unsuccesful. Not only that, the janna smite top tech came from a masters play in EU. In scrims, caps played stuff like draven mid and all kinds of random stuff.
Do people really believe, in 12 years of time, LS is the only person that can come up with this? Noone tested it, scrimmed it..? There's a reason it's not played.
Nonetheless, it's not meant as an attack to LS, but more towards the general league public/reddit that are drawing wrong conclusions. LS can have different reasons (maybe they can't play standard, maybe he just wants to play reactive for now.)
It's fun to watch, it's exciting, but reality is; People are insanely overreacting. And for some reason the argument " they're only been together for 3 days" is made so many times (altho it holds no value as fundamentally you cannot play this unless the opponent is bad) but the argument can be made against all the INSANE overreacting aswell.
I also don't understand how nearly every year the exact same thing happens in NA. Where teams are winning, due to fundamental mistakes of the opponent and people cant differentiate and think the winning team is actually insane. And then it goes internationally. Then I open reddit after 2 games of C9 and it's like LS has discovered the cure for every disease.
@@---kn2go LS has in fact scrimmed it and tested it. God knows what would have happened if the T1 fans had let LS coach T1. The reason ppl think LS is smart is not because of one or two random picks that just so happens to be strong. It is because LS has a good understanding of the game and how pieces work together.
As an example for this game: Olaf is weak unless he has someone to enchant him. Soraka mid was picked because of Olaf, not because Soraka mid itself alone is good. It is not the singular picks that shape his draft, it is how the champions all interact with each other that really draws this out.
Yes, people are overreacting. But there's hope and there's a whole lot of storylines converging on C9 right now. We might see something like TPA (then turned into Flash Wolves).
And that possibility is exciting for a major region that otherwise has no hope right now

I think the most interesting thing isn't even that LS has a team of players willing to accept and jump into his drafting/playing ideologies, its that MAX and VeigerV2 are his coaching staff, Max is someone hes always legitimized and praised as a coach and thinker of the game and VeigerV2 is like one of the only people LS has talked about in a detached coaching manner as someone who knows their shit and what they're talking about. This C9 team isn't just a LS Church sesh from the looks of it. This C9 is one of the most unified teams ive seen in the LCS ever, the entire fucking unit.
