@@nicolepereira6424 watched this entire video and then tried to make it following the instructions, but just measuring it by eye to fit my cats head. I didn’t make ear holes because I don’t know how. I remade it like 4 times because it kept coming out too big after adding that boarder around the whole thing. I did like 5 rows where I added an extra chain at the end. The base of the shape needs to be small be cause I did 2 rows for the border and that made it a lot bigger. Then I just eyeballed the eyes so it would fit the size of the hat. I hope this makes sense. It’s been a while since I made it and I don’t know the language of crocheting, I just follow what the people do but I always forget the vocabulary. It came out really cute. I added a button, then I made one for myself so we could match 🥺
Thanks for the tutorial! This is so cute. Perhaps, for future tutorials, you could film it at your POV (like if we were crocheting and would be seeing it from that angle) as it got kind of confusing? I totally understand if you can't and I'm super sorry if this is an unwanted suggestion/favor. Have a good day!
i came here looking for something that my eldest dauther asked of me, your explanation is very easy to follow, thank you thousands, and, although it has no relationship, i must say that i adored your tone of voice, i hope to see more of your material.
This was awesome! Do you have a written pattern for this? If not, i recomend to do written patterns for your future videos, it makes it easier to follow along! ❤️❤️❤️
I thinking of making this to my friend because she didn’t got the frog hat she ordered long time ago so this would be perfect birthday gift even tho I never give her any gifts hehe
I am also so stuck. 😩 i can’t figure out what they’re doing 3 minutes in. Are they half double crocheting on the first and last and then chaining one every time? or is it only in the last? i can’t tell and i can’t get mine to look like theirs 😅
@@fynn2614 to make the main body I think they half double crochet, and then they go around double crocheting, one stitch(?) from behind the work, one from the front(you don't have to turn your work around). Then personally, I didn't follow her steps for the next part, I kind of improvised. Hopefully this helped you!
hey im sorry im so confused at 4:47 you dont mention how you get to that extension is it by doing increasing half double rounds ? sorry if this is a dumb question
That's okay. I did two HDC into the first and last stitch of each row to increase the width. All the stitches in between just have one HDC. The rows should sort of look like this: 2 1 1 1 2 2 1 1 1 1 1 2 And so on. I hope this clarified that part a bit more.
To get 3 stitches in the first row you have to do your first hdc into the second loop from the hook. Then you'll only have two chain spaces left to work hdcs into. You could also do this by putting your first hdc into the third stitch from the hook, so the first 'hdc' in the row is actually the other two chains. Sorry this is difficult to explain in a comment but I hope it helps a little.
@@RauniPaigeO you don't explain that part well and in the increase and decrese too. If you chain 5, and make a hdc in the secong loop(thats sking 1 chain) youll get 4 hdc not 3. And in the drecreasing rows 39-42 you said the same thing to do a hdc in the second loop at the begining and at the end too, by the 42 row you dont get 3 hdc, it doesnt add up to the instruccions, I had to skip 2 hdc( so do a hdc in the third space) in the begining and in the end to get 3 hdc in the 4 rows of decreasing. And it didnt look like the increasing end because you made 4 rows instead of 6, so instead of 39-42 of decreasing is 39-44 rows. Sorry if it comes off rude or confusing, but I saw people(and myself) stuggling in the comments, and I just wanted to point out the error, it turned out good for you because you were doing it how its supposed to, but the wording and instuccions are wrong.
omg thank you so much! i have been crocheting for about a week now and i just made a hat! i really cant believe that and it also didnt take to long "just" a few hours ! :)
I went straight to the pattern since I can't watch the video atm, but I noticed after "Chain 5" you wrote "HDC into the second loop from hook" even though it should be the third loop. I'm not trying to be nitpicky or anything, but I wouldn't want another poor soul to realize their mistake too many rows in like I did 😅 Thanks for the pattern!!

thank u so much for the tutorial, i have a question and i don't if it's stupid tho. If want it to make it bigger, can i make 10 chains to start and make the same process? Idk if a explain mself well.
Yeah, you can add more chains to depending on if you want it to be longer or wider. If you want it to be wider, your beginning/foundation chain will be longer. I'd suggest adding an even number to keep it consistent. If you want the headband to be longer, you'll just crochet more rows between the increase and decrease on either end. I hope this helps😊

Yeah, the border is worked in two rows. The FP and BP DC are alternating within the same row to give it the unique texture. The first row (or odd numbers) will always be plain DC. Whereas the second (or even number rows) will have the alternating stitches. I hope that clarifies what I mean🤗
