It would be helpful to the TH-cam community if you put the year(s) makes and models applicable in the title. i.e. ( *1985-1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Alternator Replacement* )
Thank you for the video it was very helpful and methodically done. That front bushing for the alternator was a bear to move just an eighth of an inch. Anyway while I was there I decided to replace the idler pulley the one that gets attached to the long bolt. Once again thank you and stay safe.
Hello, So what voltage were you getting that made you replace the alternator? I'm getting 13.5v on warm idle with the light on, radio off and A/C off. Is this normal or should I be getting closer to 14v. Thanks
Sorry, I don't remember as it was over four years ago, and I've slept a few times since then, lol. Every day, I work on something different. I don't even recall when I last worked on his 911, and he has since sold it.
Good, good, how you been? I'm glad we're finally getting a break from the 100up heat index. If you have to change the alternator on that thing, be real careful with the vacuum lines, they break pretty easy when you hit them. Not hard to fix, just another thing to do if you break them.
Very helpful buddy. Just did my 997.1. Saved me £200-£300 depending on the quote 👍
Very well explained and camera work!
