Matthew, thank you so much for informing beginners in the yachting industry. It is a great honor for me to become a part of your channel. For all the guys who would like to find a job on a yacht, I can say that a year ago I was sitting and watching Matthew's video just like you, not imagining how you could get a job. But believe me, if you watch all his videos, you will be able to make a good plan for finding a job and, just like Me, you will be able to find your first yacht. Only the best is ahead!
Jumped here from your latest released video. You truly perused your passion about helping and improving other people's lives even back then. Keep up the good work! Also great effort from Aleksei, not everyone could tackle all those challenges! You did great Aleksei!
Another big thank you to Aleksei for taking part in this series. If you have any questions for him then please check out the description for links to both his Instagram and TH-cam profiles.
Hi mate !!! Your job is incredible and is really changing lifes including mine, something I want to give up with my dream job and then I see your support with the green crew and I really believe that One day I will get the position I am looking for !! Thank you
Hello Reyber, and thank you for this wonderful feedback; it's great to hear that you're finding some inspiration in the videos. I wish you every success in 2022!
Good Day Sir. Story was really full with motivation & information. I really like it. I appreciate his continuous patience & eagerness to join superyacht industry. I really appreciate him. One I noticed he started his career at 34. It's simply symbol for new freshers like me that continuous approach will lead to get success. Your videos are inching me closer towards my dream job. Congratulations both of you sir.🎊🎊🎉 Thank you.
I find it Interesting to hear about crew stories, to hear about the similarities and differences in different walks of life. The courage and determination, that Alex had in his situation, is a great example of what can be accomplish when you put your mind and determination, when you truly want something. Good for you Alex.
Hi Matthew, what’s happening ? Nothing heard. You had a great thing happening, your channel is by far the best channel for those new/entering the industry. VERY PRACTICAL, SIMPLE INFORMATION. The correct names/terms for everyday activities on a Commercial vessel. I recommend your channel to the young and inexperienced. Down to earth no hype or self indulgence. Look forward to seeing more. Cheers
Very glad I found this YT channel. When I was doing my STCW there was a girl that showed me your YT page, she also wanted to become a deckhand just like me. Heading down to Antibes in April and will look for work :). Wish you a great christmas and a happy new year! :)
Hello Daniel, and a very happy Christmas and new year to you too! I hope you enjoyed your STCW training, and wish you every success with getting started next year.
This is exactly what I hoped would come from the idea. Thank you Alex for sharing your experiences, and it is good to see that your efforts were rewarded with a job last season, and I hope you get a lead deckhand or bosun position in the forthcoming Med season to further your career. Also thank you Matthew for the series.
Thanks for the feedback, Vince. It’s great to hear that the first video in this series met with your expectations, and I look forward to sharing more stories very soon.
Very good Matthew, love the way you made this video, looking forward to more stories. And Congrats Aleksei, best of luck in 2022. Merry Christmas to you both and everyone in the comment section..
I'm 20, from Malta, and just completed my watchkeeping and stcw bst courses. Just found myself my first job on a tourist ferry. I will be starting next month but still looking for other opportunities as the wages aren't great. But I'm eager to start and especially to start earning sea time to eventually get going up the ranks.
My friend ! Hi! I also from Russia and I working vessel now and craftboat about year! Amazing ! His example very motivated for me. You really helped many people. Thanks for you) Can I keep call and will know address or contact your friend from Russia? 😊
Great videos! I wanted to ask if u know where I can purchase full crew departure, arrival, onboard fire, man overboard etc laminated charts etc for vessels, and or if I could purchase from you? I know you will have the proper and best ones! Great videos!
Hello Stephen. If you’re asking about checklists for arrival, departure, and emergencies on board, they’re all contained within the Bridge Procedures Guide. It’s published by the International Chamber of Shipping, and it’s an excellent resource to have on board. The checklists are generic, but you can make them specific to your vessel and then laminate them.
hello love your video just a quick question as a deckhand do you work yearly becuase some sites say only 3 months of the year as i want to work 12 months of the year
Hi there, I’m currently trying to make my way from the Merchant navy into the yachting industry, but while filling out my DS160 for my B1B2 visa I’ve ran into a snag. I’ve not yet got a position on a yacht, but it’s asking for addresses I will be staying and for my point of contact in the country. How can I fill this out? Thanks!
Hello Danny. Getting a B1/B2 visa without a job contract can be difficult, and it isn't something that I've ever attempted. It's one of those chicken and egg situations: you need a job to get the visa, but you need the visa to get to the USA and find a job! Unfortunately, I cannot give visa advice on this channel, but I recommend you check with a yacht crew agency in the USA to see how other crew are currently overcoming this problem.
@@WorkonaSuperyacht thanks for your reply! I will try what you said. Yes it is a chicken and egg situation as you say, same as getting your first yacht, I’m a highly qualified and experienced deckhand but with no yacht experience I can’t get any yacht experience!😀
Great to hear it! I'm 34 with a quiet experience on yachting and now looking to get a permanent job on yacht it have been difficult. It's important to be at the right place at right time. I received a few calls but none progressed. Keep trying!

Hi what rank are you?
I recently passed my OOW 3000 exam, so my next position will be as 2nd officer.
