I found the ol woody book on the first day and the first tree I cut down on my brand new save. Also, when I was checking the trash, a trashcan exploded and I thought I'd be getting my trashcan hat, but instead I got a trash furniture catalog with really shitty items in it. I love it!

i got two of them in like three days it was crazy! maybe theyre not as rare as the trash hat?
I used that catalog to decorate Clints house, very fun!

Book of mysteries does not need to be found in specifically Golden mystery boxes. The wiki is wrong, You can find them in regular mystery boxes as I did. Easiest way to get a ton is just get as many calico eggs as you can from the desert festival and you can buy up to 10 a day of over the course of the 3 day festival.
I found one in the normal boxes as well, it was a nice surprise

One thing that these books add, specifically "Jewels Of The Sea", is Legendary Fish Roe. Someone on Reddit already posted this, but when they fished up Glacierfish Jr, they got a Glacierfish Jr Roe, thanks to the book. So, if you're a collector, hold off on fishing up the legendaries until you read Jewels Of The Sea, or Ape makes it so you can't obtain Roe from Legendary Fish.

Do uou get more money when uou ship legendary roe? Is this just for molders or will this come to consoles to. In the past uou couldn't put legendary in fish ponds

Definitely one of my favorite parts of the update. I finished my iridium quality fish collection in 1.5 and this gave me something new to work towards!
I recently fished up prismatic shard roe, worth 1051 each and I got like 3 of them from catching a prismatic shard

you can't automatically get the book at the adventurer's guild, you have to kill 1000 enemies first.
Also if you have extra books, you can give them to characters, and some have dialogue about it. (Learned this unpacking the XNBs again to update said custom NPC)
One of Willy’s loved gifts is actually one of the fishing ones. I forget which one but the game had it listed as if I had previously given him one even though I myself haven’t found that specific fishing book yet.

this update is absolutely crazy it's basically a new game!
I explained it to my mom like "You know when they remaster a game 20 years later and it's basically a sequel. That but it hasn't been 20 years and it's still not $60"
half of them are mods being integrated into game, other half are same old stuff but more of them now
the queen of sauce cookbook even has the same icon as the mod, obviously he got permission from mod author to integrate it but nothing new unless you play it on mobile
You don't actually need to have golden mystery boxes for the book of mysteries, I've gotten it and don't have access to the golden boxes. It's possible to get it from the normal boxes.
the skill books also work towards the mastery bar, I got an entire bar level halfway just from reading the books, so even if your skills are maxed they are still useful
do you need to read them for completion even if you are already level 10?

Its because its experience towards that skill, which is converted to mastery once at that step, so probably only worth trading in once done with mastery, and saving them up if maxed with the skill but not unlocked mastery
@@pairot01 You can read them for mastery, but you don't need to. You can get exp just by harvesting crops, killing monsters and doing things that normally gets you exp.

You can find the "Book of Mysteries" outside of golden boxes
where else can you find them? i’ve opened 30 golden boxes and still nothing

@@onedirectioninfection5756 Regular Mystery Boxes also drop them, but it's less likely than the golden boxes because it's a larger pool of items.

i know im spoiling it for myself by watching the vids but i dont mind, its exciting to see the new stuff i can get to play with when the console update comes.
oh a tiny question will you make a vid regarding the dehydrator and fish smoker to see how good they are and possibly the new looks for the juice, pickels, jellys etc at least for some of em
Me too 😅. I first didn't want to see any content to not spoil anything but I couldn't stop my self
One thing I found out is that dehydrator is good for abundant stuff with low selling price per item like blueberry, cranberry, salmonberry and blackberry
The health and energy dehydrated purple mushrooms give you is literally god tier skull cavern food lol
I had no idea the books were even a thing until the monster loot one dropped off a random slime in a lower level of the mines. They’re such a cool addition to the game, I love the added effects

If you don't want to trade in the books you've already read, you can read them and it will go towards your mastery exp.

The mystery box book doesnt have to be form a golden mystery box! I don't actually remember how i got it, i think it was just from a normal one> Either way I have it even though I never came across a golden mystery box
btw the skill ep books can be used for some end game unlockables

You can use the experience books to gain experience to get all the mastery skills
The last screen of you having 4 mastery stars and missing the golden mystery box book is the exact same screen I have right now in my game haha 😅
I just got Book of Mysteries from regular (blue) Mystery box... so it not have to be gold one! :D
i got the mystory book and a new book that you dident mention called the jewels of the sea you get them by the tresure chests and they give chances to find roe in chests
The raccoon seeds drops will very depending on the season you are currently so if you had opened that mystery box on spring it would have been carrot seeds

the jewels of the sea book is so nice i got pretty early on in my playtru and whit remixed bundles on i dident need to build fish ponds for the bundle

You can get the Mystery Book in regular Mystery Boxes. I haven't gotten a golden MB yet but have opened a lot of regular ones
book of mysteries ive also recieved from hitting the artifact spots
The friendship book is guaranteed as the 5th prize ticket item and you get prize tickets from the Shoreview request board....waaay more consistent than the egg festival, which happens once per year
It's worth it to purchase and read all the other books even if you've maxed out your skills because it'll add to your mastery xp

If you have maxed all your skills you can read a book for the 1.6 mastery exp as well.
i think its a bug but the cart that shows up in the forest on Fridays and Sundays had combat quarterly for sale but I was able to buy multiple. took a screen shot and made it public on steam.

It is not, squid kid is an enemy in this game. It's more likely Squid Kid (techno's) named himself after this. Or because squid and kid rhyme so it sounded nice. But either way it's not a reference. Also I believe techno and squid kid are both no longer with us. R.I.P Legends

Mystery books are not found only in gold mystery boxes, I got mine from the normal blue mystery box.
Book of Mysteries can also be found in blue mystery box. Found mine in one.

Note that you can get the Book of Mysteries from ANY Mystery Box.
I've gotten two from opening basic Mystery Boxes, so no, it is not exclusive to the Golden variant.
I wonder if the new double drop book stacks with the burgler ring? I suspect not, but it would be cool if it did.

I bought the tree book from the bookseller and i read it, but it didn't show up in my "Special Items and Powers" tab. Do I need to find the book somewhere else for it to "count"?

the books get added to your wallet where your other bonus items get put like the key for the sewers and bears knowledge. so its a permanent upgrade.
You can also get the row book from chest

Be sure to read the experience books if your maxed out but haven't reached full mastery! the XP counts towards mastery!

I have a doubt about books, does anyone know if they share in multiplayer games? I mean some stuff like the Junimo statue doesn't share, so I think that the book on the Golden thing it's probably to be just for one player, if anyone can tell me about it, It'll appreciated

Does anyone know what that cauldron icon is in the collection stream and how to get it? at 0:28 in the video - does that come from the wizard or how do you get it?
also you can get the book of mysteries from normal boxes as well, we did get it from normals
and we good woody's secret from hardwood trees :)
it's just the cauldron you drink from to learn how to see the junimo letters from the wizard. After you have that cutscene it fills in.
I have collected and bought some of the books and read them, but they don't all show on the mastery tab. :(

I have the same issue with my new game, I'm making the assumption that you need to have a high level of friendship with Marnie to unlock it but if it's different then I'll reply here again ☺️
