    Hello, my wife & I are car/tent campers. A couple of yrs ago we traveled from our home state of Maryland (nearer to Washington D.C.) in hopes to find campsite #1 (Abes Run) free & available. It was and we set up camp there for a week, based on your original video of the place. It was everything you said it was, we absolutelyloved it. We love the look & feel of the great state West Virginia & look to your videos whenever we're road tripping to WV. Thanks you so much, you provide at great service.

    Hey Lou ! This is another one of your great "overview video's" that you have posted! You did an excellent job of showing where there are some nice dispersed free camping spot's in WV. They look VERY quiet, peaceful, and relaxing for sure. Great sound effects also of the "babbling brook" rolling past your own private campsite !!! Jeepers Delight,(Jason), would love camping at some of them with his buddies for sure. I would like to also, lol, but like you said....it is ," bear country", sooo , Im not sure I could do that. But, they are very beautiful and I could spend the day in there for sure. (not too sure about night time) lol Love watching the video's !! You do a very nice detailed description, and picture's of each campsite location !! Thank you Vicky

    • @LivingOurDreamNow

      For Spruce Knob, use the dump station at the USFS Seneca Shawdows CG for a reasonable fee. For Cannan Loop use the dump at Blackwater Falls State Park. Hope this helps. Lou

    The sweetest spot after #1, pretty remote, could a Mzda CX5; no tow, get across that bridge? How far is the nearest town, for groceries stores etc? Also, would there be enough sunlight?

    Question? Do you like one of these sites better than ABES RUN for tent camping. I’m from Wv and want a special place to go. What’s you # 1 pick ?
    Thank you , Jaime

    • @LivingOurDreamNow

      It depends on what you are looking for in a campsite and rig size. Most of these free campsites have little to no cellular service. For me, I'd make a reservation at the US Forest Service Seneca Shadows Campground for RV camping with medium to large size RVs. The Seneca Shadows Campground puts you within an easy drive of Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks, Dolly Sods, and Canaan Valley. I've done videos on all these places. So if I just put Gandy Creek dispersed camping area in my GPS it will take me to that road and then I can just start looking for sites off that road?

    • @LivingOurDreamNow
      @LivingOurDreamNow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Copy and paste the grid coordinates I provide in the written video description of the Gandy Creek Dispersed Camping Area video into Google Maps and hit enter. It takes you to that sweet campsite next to the creek pictured in the video. This location is midway into the camping area. Thanks for watching! Lou

    Do you know of any campgrounds that have sites with electric for tenting that are not stacked up on each other. I’m finding more and more that sites with electric or not at all private can I just looking to get out and have a nice quiet no frills campsite without generators running and loud socializing from side to side another words, I just want some quiet time, but due to medical reasons I require electric so I can’t go out into dispersed camping, which is what I really like to do.

      At the army camp in prince wv its open year around.. there is handicap sites as well.. cell service isn't that great if you even have any but it's definitely ptivate.. it's not completely primitive there's fire pits with grills attached and restroom building not Porta pody...with electric.. if u have plenty battery packs or a way to charge for your heath needs be ok..but for free, quiet decent roads it's ok..

    I have been watching all your videos …I’m taking my 4 Runner from Bradenton Florida to Boston…..My route will take me up 95 through GA, then up 26/77 to Charlotte NC to visit my son. From Charlotte I am taking 81/88 to Allanton Pennsylvania to visit a friend. Then up to Boston. I would like to do free camping on my way up. I would like your recommendation on your choices for a places you would stay at along my route. Preferably close to the highways in GA, SC, NC and Pennsylvania. Would I like bathrooms and showers, sure, but not necessary. Thank you very much. I would like to make 4 camping stops along the way up north…

      John, I've looked at my personal camping map and the only free camping area along your route I can recommend is located near Chambersburg, PA off I-81. This is Michaux State Forest Campsite #1 and a free permit is required. See Part 1 of the Michaux State Forest video series. The exact grid coordinates are: 39.987569, -77.401986 Hope this helps.
