Overwatch 2 Invasion PvE Season 6 update gameplay of all missions and cutscenes including Resistance, Liberation, and Ironclad. These missions have new lore and cinematics with a lot of hero interactions. The bosses and enemies of the omnic crisis feel like an upgrade compared to the archives missions in the past, but it is sad the skill trees never made it in the final version.

I think it's because Tracer is playable that mission. She's 'technically' on the ground and not flying

Dude, a 4 minute animation about Zen and Ramattra was genuinely one of the best things to come out of OW, I want more lore and less skins and challenges.
Zen was one of the characters that *needed* some expanded lore and I'm glad they delivered.

I didn't expect that ending ngl. That was unexpected for Talon showing up to Shambali straight to Zen. Even more with Widow and Sombra specifically being on the scene. If Doomfist was there too it would be hella crazy considering they seem to use their lore stats more than their in-game stats in the story mode in general. Like it feels like that.
I think Doomfist coming there himself would be a bit overkill, they're likely just there to abduct not kill him hence Sombra being there.
I think they’re there to kidnap him. Ramattra probably doesn’t want him in the crossfire so he’s taking precautions
I'm pretty sure I saw Soldier 76 in the background on the right when it's the big panning shot showing Sombra and Widow, but I'm not sure, there was definitely someone else there though

10:45 - Genji turning around to get a few more greedy shots and Winston just yeeting him into the ship is such an in character moment.
You can tell the passion the lore team put into the universe. The branching relationships and struggles between the characters, the nuance of protecting family first over protecting society, the wishful hopefulness of those seeking peace, the villains reasons not being complete dogshite but actually understandable.
If some of these cutscenes/missions came out before ramattra then i could see big hype around the character. As before we didnt see much or any of him in game.
Its a real shame when internal conflicts as well as corporate short term demands are what causes games to fail.
I’ll always consider Overwatch a passion project that is bogged down by a greedy company/higher ups. No corporate machine comes up with the Sigma, Bastion, Rein, Genji cinematic, etc.
@Phasmania the sad part is that it's not real corporate greed. It's the worst kind of corporate greed. The kind that needs to see results right now as soon as possible or your fired type of shit.
The world of overwatch has so much monetizable potential but the higher ups want short term money gain. This is made way worse by the internal struggles they had.
Overwatch is very much a case of "I love this game and its development team! I wish they were working for a different studio!"

Honestly shocked that's not what OW2 is. A single-player campaign that never diverted the PVP resources.

ngl, I started tearing up when Rein said "Always" because it was a call back to the somber and sad "Always" from Honor and Glory, but just hits different... I'm so happy to see Rein so full of happiness and hope, ready to teach the next generation of heroes!
I just hope he makes it to see the next generation. Something always makes me think that if any character were to go down, it would be Rein.
Brig was definitely there, but then you get to choose heroes to play and Lucio just has to solo heal.

Still bummed that the pve is degraded to this instead of what was promised initially. Maybe if the developers were given more resources or time to give what the community wants or the game was focused as a PvE add-on to Overwatch 1 instead of an updated version, the game would be much better at launch and the initial PvE idea would never have to be shelfed. The fault's on Activision Blizzard, not the devs.
The cutscenes are incredible though
i wish blizzard would understand how much the community genuinely loves the lore and pve missions, they could easily have a completely different team for pve, but then they'd make less money, i've been playing overwatch since launch and after season 6 i might be done, blizzard has dissapointed me too much and too often

It's not like their last game made 3B$ of revenue in its first year or anything.
As much as I would like to defend the Developers, they had Five Years plus nearly two extra in terms of Development time.
Alongside being paired with an already billion dollar company, and they decided to....make an entire game for an update that ruined itself.
@@carsonlove9164 Yeah, unfortunately, they realise they can squeeze wayyyyy more money out of PVE by 'cancelling' it, and making existing players buy it piece by piece through a battlepass while actively screwing over their players with false promises that were OW2 PVE. That's the sad reality of it.
@@carsonlove9164Blizzard definitely knows how much the community loves the lore. Why do you think they hype up their cinematics or released that little anime short series? They know what we want, but would rather optimize making money by giving us what we want in small increments that we have to pay for. It’s simple supply and demand, but we just suffer for it overall with subpar product.

He has always been like this. The difference before the Cinematic was that he had no concern for his comrades. You see he didn't push Torb to join after he declined because he understood what it means to protect, or "to be their shield" to put in character perspective.

In the world of Overwatch, Anubis and his army were unstoppable and humanity was threatened with extinction. And war leaves a lot of wounds sometimes not visible

I think the developers did good for trying to give a PvE mode. Blame Activision Blizzard for scrapping the initial plan, could have poured their resources into the PvE instead of releasing a new CoD every year.

I love how they’ve had this stuff for two years and just now releasing it for 15 dollars to play. They were in the works of genji saving zenyatta which is the scene right after where they left of, but I guess they didn’t want to work further
i remember seeing leaked footage of the zenyatta/genji/talon mission over a year ago so it’s absolutely ridiculous that it’s not out yet.

Really loved to hear your reactions during these PvE missions, especially at this point 45:44 when you pointed that fact out after several seconds it had happened and I also realized it after you said so when I first time watched this. So hungry of the lore that almost missed this detail! 😂

I love overwatch, the story, the characters. Its honestly so fun just to hear the hero's talk to each other and to see the story of overwatch take center stage and unfold before us. Normally we gotta wait for a hero to release to forward and sort of lore or story. Is just a shame that pve took such a back seat and was dunked on. Additionally the pve we have is definitely not worth $15, more like $5 if even that. And honestly I don't really think skill trees would have made the pve that we have any better.

Potential lore spoilers, referring to things that have happened in the comics.
Genji said he wanted to consult Zenyatta, so it is likely he and a few others will line up to rescue Zen or meet against Talon? Further, Symmetra was recently with Zenyatta so I wonder if that is how she will make her appearance in future story missions.
It will also be interesting to see how they weave in Kiriko, Hanzo & the remaining OW crew.
