Songs of the oppressed | Trolley Times Documentary

Discrimination against workers on the basis of their status and caste is a harsh reality. We talked to someone who has written songs about this oppression. In this video, he narrates incidents of the systematic violence his community endures and how access to farmlands can liberate them. He sings the songs of the oppressed. He sings to fight for the dignity of labour.
ਕਿਰਤੀ ਕਾਮਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੈਸੀਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਤ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ਼ ਵਿਤਕਰਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਕੌੜੀ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਪੀੜ ਹੰਢਾਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਵੀਡੀਉ ਵਿਚ ਓਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਾਦਰੀ ਤੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਜ਼ਬਰ ਦੇ ਕਿੱਸੇ ਸੁਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵਾਹੀਯੋਗ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਮਿਲਣ ਨਾਲ਼ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਟੁੱਟ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆਂ ਨਿਤਾਣਿਆਂ ਕਿਰਤੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਰਾਂ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਅਣਖ ਨਾਲ਼ ਜਿਉਣ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਸੁਣਾਂਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
