  • Fall has arrived here in the Carolina's and that can only mean one thing. Predator fish such as Spanish, Blues and False Albacore are starting their migration south while the Drum and Speckled Trout start to move into the creeks with cooler temps approaching. This is my favorite time of the year. The tourist are gone and us locals get our beach back ! Enjoy, like and subscribe.

      @@SlackTidesFishing Crap!
      Just looked up Topsail Beach and saw there are 3 piers, Jolly, Surf City and Seaview.
      In mid May, are they all the way up to Seaview yet or more bites down at Jolly?
      Wife and I would like to stay near Seaview but would hate to fish and no bites.. 🤷‍♂️

      Man it’s that time of the year, these Spanish are gonna be from Charleston SC all the way up towards Virginia. Water was 71. It should be prime. Follow Johnny Mercers Pier on FB. That’s what I use as a guide as to what fish is close by. They’re 2 hours South.

    • @SlackTidesFishing
      @SlackTidesFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot depends on how hot the water gets. It’s it’s upper 70s low 80s the morning bite should be decent. Then they’ll move off to just a tad bit deeper/cooler water. But if it’s mid 70s it should be decent all day it would just fluctuate with the tides.

      Honestly I don’t. I’m sure there’s a data base with that info. If it helps, there’s a bunch of big schools of them and Albies being spotted a few miles off the coast. It won’t be long.

      It maybe an old wives tale but when we start seeing the small yellow butterflies that’s kinda what I’ve went off of that the migration is in it’s early stages of potentially them running South. For 5 years in a row it’s been a good gauge.
