Kraftwerk - Sydney - December 6 2023

Veteran German electronic group Kraftwerk are credited with having far reaching influences, both musical and social. While I have known many of their tracks for decades, I’ve never seen them live. I thought it time to correct that.
I choose three of their better known but shorter numbers to video:
Computer Love (00:07)
Geiger Counter/Radioactivity (06:03)
The Robots (12:53)
Although the sound and images are there, my video doesn’t really capture the ambience of their performance. For that you really needed to be there in the auditorium, feeling the music and sharing the experience with a mass of people. What it may have lacked in ‘excitement’ in the traditional concert sense, it compensated for with mesmerising control, sweeping the audience away in the sounds and images of a technologically driven future that we already inhabit.
