facts! also the fact that since hydrogen and oxygen are diatomic, they were most commonly found in nature as H2 and O2 so Hydrogen Peroxide would actually make the most sense.
@@jobehastings6639 That's not how it works. Even tho they are diatomic there's never just one molecule of each. Also when they react they form the most stable compound i.e. the one with the lowest orbital energy states which is water, H2O. The balanced reaction is 2 H2 + O2 -> 2 H2O

@@SamTAnderson I'm not sure what you mean by 'there's never just one molecule of each.' Are you talking about as it occurs naturally? Because if so, I don't think that matters in this case. It's just a proposed problem of adding H2+O2 together. Which is H2O2. Which is Hydrogen Peroxide. HOWEVER, turns out (I did some digging), the question they asked is much more complicated than they likely intended. In terms of technicality, the above formula is correct, separating it from nature and everything. However, in a lab or in nature, the reaction is a lot more complicated than I ever thought it was. It seems like hydrogen peroxide is technically made during the reaction but it's changed to water during the process. I think. And I suppose you only answer with the FINAL FINAL result. Which will almost always (literally always?) be water. I still think if Courtney answered with hydrogen peroxide they should give her the points still.

Oxygen + hydrogen can produce different compounds. They should have stated the number of each element. For water, it's: 2H2 + O2 --> 2H2O

@@farrellundead4487 Hydrogen is weak therefore you'll generally always have 2 together, I may be dumb but I can't remember any reaction/anything that has only one hydrogen. The question is technically right with that in mind, but they could have added that onto the question to have it make more sense.

Aurora also goes by Briar Rose when she's living in the cottage with the fairies. It's also most likely her original name in the fairy tale, kinda hard to know for sure cuz it pops up in a few countries but it's close to her German name.
