My grandfather bred Tall Bearded and Pacific Coast Irises for his whole adult life - I remember being out in the garden almost every summer as a little girl helping him weed and water the blooms. He passed two years ago, but he left his floral legacy scattered across the country and I've managed to collect small pieces of it to try growing in my own garden - they really are generational plants.

I love your love for Iris. I’ve been a lover since I was a child and my Aunt who has long since passed had a beautiful Iris bed. I have Iris all over my yard and a smaller version of Iris garden in my back yard. I have probably at least 100 different varieties. Some historical passed from my grandmother in law and many I purchased from Schreiners Iris and Sutton Iris gardens. This is my first time seeing your videos.

Marie I love irises too! My Mom had purple ones that smelled like grape koolaid. Then I met my husband at college and at his dad's farm he had the same ones. Now I have them in front of the house!😃 I get to smell them every year. 💜🪻

My mom had beautiful Irises. She had many varieties, sure wish I knew the name of them. Looks j you said they would get mowed over and it seemed like the next year they multiplied. Your Irises are stunning and brought back many memories. Mom had a tiny yard however her mound of irises were faithful and came back each year.We lived in southern Oregon at that time. Thank you for sharing.

I like the verigated leaves on some iris cause when they are done blooming, they still have very cool foliage.
