Hello. I was born and grew up in Tully. Lived in Brannigan street at the foot of mount Tyson for 20 years. And As a kid I was always climbing mount Tyson all the way up to ‘Scout’s Rock’. The church was the commonwealth bank. In the 1970’s, the town had enough rain to flood the Banyan creek ... that’s the river you cross entering the town. The water would come up way past the gumboot and often into the town. This happened every year without fail. Nowdays this flooding is a rare event.
Such good memories about my home town.
A quick note ... in the 60’s and 70’s Tully and surrounding areas were a world renowned hotspot for UFO’s. Thank you for the wonderful video.
Nice I stayed in trower street behind the igloo when it used to flood our house use to flood to because the banyan is just across the road hahha beautiful town Tully tigers
@@taitaufahema@taitaufahema haha.... that igloo used to be across the road from the civic centre/library just beside the fire station. The fire station is also now down near the showgrounds across the park from the gumboot.

I was honestly surprised when I saw this. Tully is not very well known. Every time someone asks me where I am from and I say Tully, they asked where is that, or they say they have never heard of it.
