This also makes me miss my grandsd who passed away at 87 in 2021 from corornavirus😢. We had so many older vehicala we worked on as projects. My 1965 mustang. His 1964 ford Galaxie. My 1978 Monte Carlo and our 1950s Ford 8N tractor. Evem when i was a a kid in the 90s he still a few older vehicals like a 1965 and 1969 chevy step side trucks. And a 1977 Datsun Pickup also a 1976 chevy scottdale and a 1974 or 75 dodge power wagon. I was one of the lucky kids that still got to experience the magic and joy that older vehicals can bring.
Respect for the el camino. A lot of things I'd never do to my 87 but I still love it.
what wouldn't you do to it
@@jahshuanoll9421 led headlights, Exhaust tips, rim swap, hood bump. All just my opinion and that's why I have my own. Still a beautiful car.
Let’s just hope that smoke is from a cold start and oil leaking from the valve seals…. assuming it went away after some revs I’d assume that’s what it is
Dream car right there!
Gotta love no crossover sound. Perfect!
So glad I live in a city that doesn't require catalytic converters on a vehicle from 1978.
10years and the motor running like that!
Money’s not always the easiest to come by
It came straight from the trailer park 🤣
Nah this is a homie Gs ride. The homies love those ugly azz flat exhaust tips..
Engine smoking that bad and y’all still reving it like that 😂
Never cut them any slack
..no. Engine smoking that bad and he wanted exhaust.
Boy that white S 10 has been for sale for a while now I am assuming LOL
My grandmother left me her old 81 El Camino. The first thing that I did was install Cadillac tail lights because nobody pays attention to those bumper mounted lights. People don't even know what they're looking at because they're so down low.
Cats aren't needed on this but ok
In states/municipalities that have visual inspection or emissions testing, it does, if it came from the factory with a catalytic converter. Being a 78, I'm sure it did. Everything after 75 did, unless it was a truck over a certain GVWR.
@@AdmiralRustyShackleford This Chevy came with 1 cat, now it has 2 it's illegal.
i have a 79 with the same exact paint job
I have a 79 elco and I'm going to use flowmaster duals. I was told that i need a dual hump crossmember or 1 side will be lower than the other. How did you fix problem
I was told the same
Take a look @18 seconds they ran the pipe under the cross member.
Sounds good. Looks good except for the cheapo ebay LED headlights.
Hope the bad idea for no crossover was the customers request
A little quiet for a 350 imo but still sounds good 👌
Hopefully they didn’t use a stock 350 engine from that year. The compression ratio for that year was terrible. Guttless engine. Definitely needs some engine work though.
He must of had a second half year 78 because my 78 Chevy built before June of that year did not have catalytic or EGR systems.
They had cats since 1975.
I really hate that you have to add cats where y'all live. Makes them old school v8s sound to tame. I live in SC where it's not an issue. I keep them on newer vehicles but anything past about 2000 or so and they have to go.
Sounds healthy
If that engine is running rich or burning oil.... those cats are going to get plugged up quick like and ruin them, waste of money.
Converters need to go but sounds ok otherwise. Car would breathe and run a lot better too
10 years on that '78?!? 😓
My dad's friend Wayne the weenie man use to have a 78 el camino except his was black
10 years the project should’ve been completed
LV Hendking it takes a lot longer than you think. A lot of time goes into projects but life gets in the way sometimes.
LV Hendking fact is they did not give up on it.
That’s a 305 lol
Instead of all that led light crap and that ugly paint job, they should of invested in a motor first?
