Nice thank you. I bought this game ages ago but have only recently starting playing. I tried the tutorial again but it gave me the out of date warning this time. Long story short thats how I found your channel. Love you game play videos they help a lot. This is awesome as well. Im still feeling like I'm not grasping manual torpedo solutions but I think it may be down to lack of practice. Thanks again.
Excellent and timely video. I've been trying to figure out an easy way to maneuver my boat while using the deck gun in first person. Thanks! BTW, I also find K and L for 1x and 5x time compression to be very handy.
Hey Lite_ly, another excellent video. Thanks so much, I am currently working through your catalogue and growing my knowledge like a boss (lol). The game is totally opening up now and I am getting into nicely. Cheers :)
Thanks! Have you found a way to move the crew around in the bottom right? Find it kinda irritating that they seem to be placed based on XP in relation to the Captain. I find them moving around to be a pain. Keep up the great work with the videos, always enjoy them.
@@Lite_lySalted and this works as well, but so does a left click and drag. Woot, now I can keep everyone in order haha. In the military we called it dressing from the right to the left by height. Now we can do it by job :). Cheers!
Thanks for all your guides, this game is so confusing for a new user! In FPP, I can't move my character, it's as if it were locked in 'Alt' mode, I see the mouse cursor all the time. Is there a special key to regain control and move in 1st person mode, or is this mode only working at the start when docked? And I suppose that's normal at the beginning that we can only control 1 character? I see in your videos that you can select all 5 officers.
I think it depends on whether you selected fpp only at the start of your game. I leave that unchecked, so at any time I can select any officer and move into their fpp mode. As to why your officer is stuck, I really dont know sorry. I am not aware of any special command to make them move. Could be a bug. I recommend leaving fpp only unchecked.
@@Lite_lySalted FPP only is unchecked, and the other modes seem fine. I have restarted the tutorial and now it's working, that looks like an evasive bug :) Thanks for the recommendation, I wouldn't like to play everything in FPP mode indeed! I suppose we only have one officer in the tutorial too, I'll just see if that's the same by starting something else.
@@no_fb Don't play the tutorial, mate. It's really, really out of date. That's likely where your bugs are coming from. Best thing in to dive into a real game off the hop.
@@Lite_lySalted Sounds like a good piece of advice! I've seen the warning, but wanted to see a vague intro on some of the features. Maybe I was looking for trouble ;) Now I've seen your videos, I'll watch them instead and skip this outdated tutorial.
I have a question: I know the video says that pressing the alt key during deck gun combat brings up your controls but when I press alt it still brings up the officer controls. I can’t find a way to control speed or turn while I’m actually shooting the deck gun. It really sucks to have to back out of the deck gun, alter course or speed, and then go back into the gun.
How would you guys say this compares to the Silent Hunter games? I know it's more involved with the crew sim portion, but is the overall realism/feel much the same??
Is there anything more basic? I've been playing sub sims since the first "Silent Service 1-5" came out and I had "Red Storm Rising" on my 386 with a null modem cable playing against someone else while we were on cruise. All this experience and I can't even start the engines in this simulator. There doesn't seem to be a step by step to start and move the boat. There should be something for each station if it's this hard just to start the engines. I know about controls, I hunted subs in the Navy, it's knowing how to control this sim.
I still need Keybiard binds for rudder, I still want buttton for Set course to bearing ,, i want shallow depth gage AND deep one, I want to see ALL gages at once!!!
@@Lite_lySalted Oh good. Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I got a kill on an escorted convoy, but the corvettes closed in awfully quick and I had a hard time getting away. No point making it any easier for them.

If you hold ALT while in section view it brings up all available action icons

i think left click and drag moves them
Not that I know of, other than taking them off your boat and loading them back on in a particular sequence.
@@MrLittlepe Confirmed, this does work. Thanks!

I know this is an older video but I can't watch with volume so used subtitles. At the start it read as "I'm lettuce alton" and I find that hilarious.
Omg thats awesome! Thanks for letting me know!
Thanks a lot!
The UpPage and DownPage will increase the text size so us old timers can read it
Thanks for the info!

Officer controls should be tab. Check your settings.
Great, thanks!
No worries!

I would say it's a very worthy successor.

Cheers, the shorter videos are better for the algorithm!
Lol
How do I raise and lower the flag? It sticks out like a sore thumb and I don’t want to wave a red flag at enemy corvettes.
Go into fpp with an officer and select it.
