Never been to Colorado but I'm sure it's similar to Washington state. From my experience I will say the camera even 4 k ones will never do it justice on how hard the trail really looks.
This video is a perfect example of why wheel base length along with approach and departure angle when off-roading is so important. You can buy the best upgrades for your truck won’t change the dimensions of you’re truck.
@@JulietHotelFoxtrot I've used ATRAC and it does not replace an actual locker. A locker will provide traction to both sides simultaneously without any delay. I've experienced instances where ATRAC can cause you to fail an obstacle because of delay or one side spinning too fast while the other has no power. I owned an FJ Cruiser with ATRAC and then a Jeep Rubicon with dual lockers after that, the FJ could not compare to the amount of stable control the Rubicon had, but reliability was a whole other story..
@@dirttales A locker by design must send half the power going to the axle to each wheel, regardless of if it needs it or not. ATRAC/MTS can brake the spinning wheel, which leaves nearly all remaining power to go to the traction wheel. So on a rear axle, it will send nearly 50%, less friction losses. It is inspiring seeing the skillful driver maneuver the whale of a Tundra with no crazy tall lift suspension or 40+ tires. Is that rig outfitted with 2" front suspension lift (and 1" rear) and 35" AT tires? The driver really working the rock sliders like he's skiing up Colorado powder. Crazy. @@TheNotorious9 that’s R4T’s tundra. My guess is it’s not his truck. Cool video. Thanks for sharing your experience. Question. Were your rock sliders on the Tundra attached to the frame or the body of the truck? They seemed to have saved the day. ???
Man! Nice Tundra! There's nothing like trying to crawl up rocks. Right after you, drive through mud and sand. Its definitely NOT easy, with wet gritty tires. Especially with the extra weight of a full size rig.
A lot of people have not even been on this trail but are quick to judge. We took the tundra to see how capable it is not because we think we are cool and just taking a full-size truck on a difficult trail lol. Enjoy the content. Thank you.
Lmao it’s quite possibly the most sketchy jack on the aftermarket, but seeing that the tundra didn’t even bring his own spare, we were workin with what we had. 🤣
The fact that it’s a full size truck is what gets in the way. Way too big, heavy, and long to be rock crawlin. Weight is your enemy. The lightest and most nimble short wheel base is the way to go for rock crawling. Bringing a rooftop tent and every piece of gear and the kitchen sink isn’t the smartest for the rocks. But these are overlanders just hitting different moderate trails. They usually avoid the really technical hard stufff. Nothing wrong with that tho. Know your rig and why and how you built it for the type of off roading you do.
Even if you get your vehicle dented or flipped over, this is what these vehicles were made for not those 90% pavement princess crap...unless it a sport model.
I will never understand? If you have rear lockers and or front lockers SET THEM UP BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT ANY TRAIL. Why do damage to you truck 🚚 because you never set it up before you ATTEMPT the obstacle. I'm just saying boys if you have it us it 🤷 The Banks boy's

No, we did not make a video. We just had to bend the exhaust hanger back in place. and get a new bumper cap for the rear. Nothing mechanical was damaged.

Last time he’ll take the tundra on anything but a fire road or the highway. 😂
You definitely want to have at least one locker on this trail and this video proves it. Throttle control goes a long way too!
ATRAC/MTS is seriously good though. It is capable of delivering more power to the wheel with traction than a locker.

What size tires are on that FJ?
what goes up, must come down. also everyone pretty much needed high clearance bumpers lolz
The spotter on the Tundra doesn’t discern lines or the vehicle he is spotting “your good” means your about to tear your shit up
The white taco what tires is he running? Thanks
Video reinforces the fact that lighter is better when wheeling. I wonder how a lifted GX460 or 470 without heavy stuff wouldve handled these trails
