That is wonderful. Bart grew up in Talbot County Maryland. He has some great stories and I would love to visit there. We would love to chat with you and your wife about the area. We can set up a Zoom call if you would like. Our phone number is 805-256-2813 and email team@living-inventuracounty.com. We look forward to speaking with you:).

For this money not even pool or spa?

We had that question as well. The builders reps said to make friends with someone who is living in one of the rentals so you could use their pool....At least you have volleyball and ping pong tables.

I may be moving to Oxnard, I have been searching for an apartment and the Wagon Wheel apartments are looking pretty good. One concern I had was barking dogs, to me it's like nails on a chalkboard mixed with a baby crying, there is no more irritating sound in the world to me than a dog barking. I called The Wagon Wheel Apartments to ask questions. obviously, it's her job to sell the apartment, but when I asked about this, she told me dogs not being allowed on the balcony unattended was strictly enforced, and they also have people who patrol looking for trash or noisy people/dogs to deal with them. Would you say this is true or is she just trying to get me to sign a lease? I am not in the state yet so I can't see for myself but I will take a tour before signing with anyone. However, sadly you can't really know any house or apartment well until you have lived in it for a while.
I keep hearing family family family... where is a good place for single people?

We understand the concerns you have about moving to a place that you do not know. When we have driven the Wagon Wheel area we saw a dog on the balcony and then when we drove back it was gone. We also saw a lot of people walking their dogs or having their dogs walked by a dog walker. We saw people picking up after their dogs. We can not promise that there will not be any dog noise but it does look like people are trying to be respectful. Keep in mind that Wagon Wheel is currently under construction. There is noise from the construction and the developers are going to be on top of everything because they are selling homes in the area. Since it is so new we can not say this will be the trend once the development has been finished.
We would recommend looking at meetups in the area before you move out here. Find some that you would like to join and reach out to people who have similar interests as you. This is a great way to meet other people, make friends, and find places you might want to hang out.

We are so happy that you have found the perfect place for you to live. Just as a side note, Oxnard does provide condos that range in price from the high 200's and up. People do pay more to be so close to the beach. Also, Oxnard was just ranked the 5th happiest place to live in the U.S. www.neighbor.com/storage-blog/most-neighborly-cities-2022/#:~:text=Climbed%20from%20%2318%20in%202021.&text=But%20what%20really%20boosted%20its,happiest%20place%20in%20the%20U.S.

As someone who has lived in the Mid West and CA and NYC, they all have their pros and cons. Lets go over the cons of the mid west, since we already know CA/NY cons.
      1) You have a bigger house... so what? All I do inside my house is sleep, cook, and play computer games, you don't need much room for that. Seriously what do you use the space for? Who cares about your yard? You have a whole beach in Oxnard, and then in the other direction you have ATV/Quad/dune buggies and off roading and hiking.
      2) Food sucks in the mid west compared to the coasts, this is just a fact, can not be debated by any reasonable person. Food is a big part of life and the food on the coasts in the more urban areas is just better. You have the BBQ that the Mid west has but you also have good Chinese (the "Chinese" food in every mid west place I've tried is awful) Indian, Thai, Italian (actual Italian, not olive garden) etc. Food is a CLEAR win for CA/NY.
      3) Jobs. If you want a high paying job that isn't rough, again CA/NY have a crushing victory here.
      4) I can't name NY in this, but CA weather is God tier, literally the best weather on planet earth.
Mid West is cheaper, allows more guns, and has less hippie liberals, which are all good things, but again it comes with the sacrifice of lower paying/less good jobs, garbage weather (tornados, sweltering summers and freezing winters) and terrible food, relative to the coats. So in the end, you need to pick your poison. An apartment rent or buying a house in Oxnard is 3 times as expensive as it is in Arkansas/North Texas but then again the weather is 3 times nicer and there is 3X better food so... pick.

I am sorry that this is your experience here. We have lived and visited other cities that have more homeless and that are dirty but also the other way around....On a side note, do you read Mark Tufo? I have really enjoyed his books and noticed your name is one he uses in his Zombie fallout series.

I grew up in Oxnard and all this stuff is new since I moved away. But there's always been homeless and people down on their luck but the way you talk about the homeless makes me sick to my stomach you silver spoon. I guess you've never been down on your luck. All you guys achieved to do there in the Seal Beach. How much rather have my old Oxnard with all the farmlands instead of all this stuff

I appreciate your perspective on the issue. Homelessness is a serious concern that needs more attention and support. We only mention it in our videos because so many people ask us about it when they call. Our channel is about answering those questions. We are both very active in trying to help those who are less fortunate than we currently are. As for never being down on our luck, I personally was homeless when I was 7 months pregnant, going through a divorce from an abusive man and had taken a sabbatical from teaching. I would not have made it without so many people helping me during that trying time. I am sure we all have stories like this. How many of us are just a paycheck away....I also love all of the fields. They bring peacefulness to this area as well as jobs.
