The Southerners that lost land after the Civil War lost it because they were either reliant on slavery for income, or they were heavily invested in the CSA which was illegal in the first place. In otherwords, they were either slavers or criminals. There was no 40 acres and a mule, and even if there had been, let's be honest it was only fair to give it up considering how much was stolen in the first place.

I've _seen_ the pictures of my old friends from high school on Facebook, they pretty much _all_ look older than me.
