That and the scene where they make him shoot the fake Clark Kent childhood when what he actually got was this. Who knows how he'd be if he hadn't been raised by sociopaths
Because there was no point lying or being fake. Homelander can tell when someone is lying by listening to their heartbeat. She knew she was dead from the start so she didn't even bother.
I'm surprised he didn't call her out on how the "they were scared" excuse makes zero sense. Maybe if she had said they were more scared of Vought than they were of him, but being scared of Homelander seems like a pretty good reason to go out of your way to be nice to him. If I'm scared of a dangerous animal, the last thing I want to do is piss it off.
@Nisselak Difference is that a cage will usually prevent an animal from getting to you if you tick it off, even if it wants to kill you. She says in this video that there was nothing physically preventing him. This was more like keeping a pet tiger in your home. If you're genuinely afraid, if you genuinely think that tiger could maul you at any time, you don't go and yank on its tail.
So the doctors were scared, but instead of befriending a superpowered boy, they experimented on him? How stupid was that? Even the rest of the Seven is scared of him, that’s why they play nice!
I kind of feel sorry for the new people working there, that had nothing to do with homelander. Imagine being a trainee at a company, then finding out the company you work for violates human rights on a daily level and then getting torn apart (literally) by a sociopath with superpowers and literally all of that in like 30 minutes. That must really suck…
Homelander asks why no one stand up to Vough, it's because there were multiple selection protocols for hiring staff. People who could, who had a potential to compromise their work, just wouldn't get hired, that's all.
Meh, in the past he was more of a bully than a monster. If someone stood up to him with no fear at all, he'd have no response for them. It's a big part of the reason why he didn't kill Stan Edgar the multiple times he was right in front of him talking this way to him. I think Butcher too, but that also could've been cuz he needed him alive to find out where Ryan was and no amount of torture would have broke him. Possibly Maeve too, but it's hard to tell cuz he had a sick twisted kind of "love" for her.
I don't think she thought she was going to get out alive, so she just spoke the truth. She strikes me as a person who knows they have done bad their whole life and sort of accepts that it will one day be their undoing.
“ engineered the need for you to be obedient, our greatest success” Homelander - “wow … I mean this was holding me back for a long time, but you essentially just gave me years of therapy in that statement. This was engineered therefore I can choose to recognize that myself from it and kill you all” “….”
_"They were just following orders."_ The surving Nazis on trial at Nuremburg used the same defence. Needless to say; _"I was only following orders"_ didn't save them from; 'dancing the hangman's jig'...
Well, now it is done. Part of Homelander, no matter how small, WANTS to be truly loved and it does give him some small touch of humanity. But after this, whenever he hears that voice in his head, he will see it ONLY as the attempt of his inferiors to control him. He will then try to destroy it by going as far as he possibly can in the opposite direction.
If Barbara knew Homelander was trying to be good and could've broken out of the laboratory, why did she let him suffer? If it's about the 3 deceased doctors and a nurse, who are probably her family, then it's kinda understandable.
Good taste. Btw did you ever see the remake of Night of the Living Dead? Not a lot of people know about it, but I thought it was surprisingly good. Like how the remake to Dawn of the Dead was pretty damn good.
@@stingerjohnny9951 I have seen the Remakes of Night of the Living Dead and it's sequel, I have the unrated and director's cut of Dawn of the Dead. I have them both on DVD!!
We don't think Homelander's the hero. We just see that he has been abused far more than anyone he works with. He had nothing, everything blew up in his face, he was purposefully raised to have affirmation issues, and he still managed to claw his way to the top. It's like the ending to One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. But it kept going and he's an Invincible psychopath.
@@Lorgar64 he still managed to claw his way to the top? He is an invincible, all-powerful supe. Just a mere sight of him was enough to scare most people who know him. Saying he had nothing is ignoring that little fact that he's almost a demigod.
@thedarkone9552 A demigod controlled for decades through insecurity, mommy issues, and daddy issues. From the moment he was born, he was property. You don't stick a kid in an oven then wonder why he became a sadist.

Barbara, you’re the smartest woman I’ve ever known. And you’re too stupid to see he made up his mind 10 minutes ago.
Heisenlander
I understood that reference😂
she tried to be stan Edgar but forgot she does not own a chicken restaurant
Barbara was not up to Los Pollos Hermanos standards
Different actors play different roles through their careers. Shut the fuck up
I think she knew she was dead the second she saw Homelander tormenting Martin.
😂😂😂
This was the one single moment in which I sided with Homelander.
They way this woman so arrogantly justifies their abuse actually pisses me off.
That is one of the few things I hate about civilization.
It protects the makers of monsters from the monsters they make, well sometimes.

0:55 The way she described Homelander’s birth was exactly how Homelander’s son with Becca was born in the comics. Such horrifying imagery.
So in the comics, Becca dies when Ryan is born?
@ Yep. And Homelander’s son was never named cause Butcher immediately killed him after it was born. Yeah, the comics were dark a.f.
You mean black noir child right? He was the one that rpd Becca in the comics

What do humans do with dangerous animals that they are afraid of? They put them in a cage. And that's what they did here with him.

She knew he was likely to kill her and the others. She all but said it.
I expected her to have a backup plan. She should’ve known she’s walking to her death the moment she entered the lab.
Technically she did talk her way out of it, Homelander usually doesn’t k*ll people who have the guts to stand up to him (Butcher, Stan, Barbara)

More like revenge
So at no point, did they think psychologically fucking with a super powerful being would end badly ?
