Also note how Walter closing the meth containers was the only thing that was not done to the beat at all - in fact, the only mistake shown in that entire production chain was him failing to close a box fully
As someone who works as a QC Scientist in the biopharma industry, I have to say that Gus' policies of having his staff wear the full gowning suits with gloves while packaging the meth is exquisite.
I mean its more then that. Its perfect for safety reasons and since meth is water soluble one wouldn't want their skin to get infected by a possibly toxic P2P cook.

You would need too many people who reliably keep silent no matter what. That does not exist in the real world. DEA and other police forces know about drug rings pretty fast because they can trace from the consumers to the dealerd to the packers. This could work for a while but it would go down inside a couple of years guaranteed.
Thought I recorded the wrong program when this episode first started. My favorite BB intro scene ever. The familiar phony corporate babble transitions to the evil deeds behind the facade. The production line, the nuts and bolts of the operation, efficient with a rhythm as smooth as clockwork. A story told with pictures, not a word of dialog or explanation necessary. Now we understand. Awesome - gives me chills every time!
Visual storytelling at it’s finest. Gus isn’t even present in the shots but his meticulous and efficient nature seeps into each piece of distribution, essentially turning the lab into an extension of Gus himself. You also get a visual aid to understand just how massive the absurd amount of meth he’s moving is. Truckloads headed out every day across the southwest.

I remember when I first watched this, I paused the episode, got my ass up to the nearest KFC, came back and continued watching whilst indulging on some fried chicken.
Well, I even had Los Pollos chicken at shopping mall in the center of Moscow once in 2016, but it got replaced by other franchines in just a year or two. Chicken was good but couldn't compete with KFC nearby.

The name 'Madrigal Electromotive' was probably a spontaneous filler name they inserted at the bottom of the ad, to make it look more real. Then in season 5, when they wanted to introduce the parent company of Los Pollos into the show's plot, they used 'Madrigal'. What's more impressive than planning ahead is how good the writers actually are at revisiting older elements in the show and using them to maximum efficiency later on.

Perhaps they slow roast the chicken at first with the ingredients before using the fry batter. That way the flavor gets locked in, not just on the outside. Flavor inside and outside. That would make for some quality chicken, actually. Because usually when you lose the skin you lose the flavor. KFC also does both grilled and fried chicken though, so they could do that. Just like Gordon Ramsay says: "Season season season."
I always thought that Gus chose guys with a criminal past. Maybe he put the bail down for some of them or helped smuggle them across the border. At any way, I think all his trusted people are somehow in his debt.
This sequence is probably one of the best opening scenes in television, ever. Just the way it's shot and the ending shot of Gus staring at his product driving off in the distance.
The blue meth was a p2p solution, hank called it old school biker meth made by the biker gangs from the 80’s And he said all the cooks he knew were either dead or still in prison.
Recently I've Watched all of BB for the fourth Time and it still amaze me how good the montage, the editing and the music is. This scene is probably the best example it's such a joy to watch.

You would need too many people who reliably keep silent no matter what. That does not exist in the real world. DEA and other police forces know about drug rings pretty fast because they can trace from the consumers to the dealerd to the packers. Thought I recorded the wrong program when this episode first started. My favorite BB intro scene ever. The familiar phony corporate babble transitions to the evil deeds behind the facade. The production line, the nuts and bolts of the operation, efficient with a rhythm as smooth as clockwork. A story told with pictures, not a word of dialog or explanation necessary. Now we understand. Awesome - gives me chills every time!

Visual storytelling at it’s finest. Gus isn’t even present in the shots but his meticulous and efficient nature seeps into each piece of distribution, essentially turning the lab into an extension of Gus himself.
You also get a visual aid to understand just how massive the absurd amount of meth he’s moving is. Truckloads headed out every day across the southwest.

@@dxsolate im assuming because of how gus is covered by shadows and you can only really make out a silhouette, they do lighting tricks like this with Gus specifically a lot and its really cool considering he lives his life in the shadows. Looks like hes just watching his fast food business to a normal person, but the audience knows something more sinister is going on.

V you gotta watch BCS, it’s a really well done extension of the BB series. It gives a lot of background information on a lot of the characters from BB, like the Salamanca brothers, how Gus began his operations, and how Jimmy McGill becomes Saul Goodman

The name 'Madrigal Electromotive' was probably a spontaneous filler name they inserted at the bottom of the ad, to make it look more real. Then in season 5, when they wanted to introduce the parent company of Los Pollos into the show's plot, they used 'Madrigal'.
What's more impressive than planning ahead is how good the writers actually are at revisiting older elements in the show and using them to maximum efficiency later on.

They overuse the concept of fresh and slow cooked methods. But then have this massive Fried Batter distribution... Mmm... Seems suspicious
Perhaps they slow roast the chicken at first with the ingredients before using the fry batter. That way the flavor gets locked in, not just on the outside. Flavor inside and outside. That would make for some quality chicken, actually. Because usually when you lose the skin you lose the flavor. KFC also does both grilled and fried chicken though, so they could do that.
