That is nice that you have a coin guy willing to do that for you! My LCS’s still refuse to lower their prices even though the market isn’t there anymore for junk silver dimes to be $3, Quarters to be $6.50, and Half Dollars to be $11. Their excuse is “we can’t lower them because of demand.” 😡
And then when they inevitably go out of business they will be the first to cry "No one wants to buy silver anymore" - code for "No one wants to overpay for common junk silver"
@@felixpeltier6164 Yeah, that's honestly not a bad price given current market trends. 30x face for dimes is absolutely insane, and 26x for quarters isn't much better.
Definitely cool the dealer hooks you up. Usually my dealers flip up all the coins with detail and puts all the cull ones in a box. Love seeing the old seated coins!
I always like the chance to see those beautiful Seated dimes. The sound of silver coins tinking together is always neat! Thanks for giving up the peeks 👍
coin collecting in the 40s and 50s was wild because alot of this was still in circulation, coming off the heels of decades of hardship alot of coins that practically circulated to death people could afford to collect now, there were so many different designs people could find going back into the mid to late 1800s if you were lucky
Rob you motivated me to start hunting. Started off small with 4 rolls of cents and found 5 Wheaties. One of them is a 1928s which I believe is a better date. I went back to bank and got a $25 box and found 10 Wheaties but no key or better dates. I have some concentration issues but when I'm hunting I'm laser focused haha.
I got 7 dollars worth from a coin dealer today for 24x face, I wouldnt say thats too bad I guess. Being as no shipping fees, local, and it was a variety of halfs. Thanks for sharing.
My entire collection recently got stolen, but I have to say watching your videos and seeing finds our still out there gives me hope. I was able to start up a small bit from coinstar so far, it's gonna take a very long time to hopefully recover but it's a good start. You found some good ones today
That was a great deal on those coins! My LCS never gets old junk silver like that - and he certainly wouldn't sell it at those prices. I am jealous! 😀 Another great video!
These junk silver purchases are some of my favorite videos on your channel. Those were some very nice SLQs. I don’t have a 1917 in that condition. Good stuff!
The only standing liberty quarter I ever come across was a 1927 - D. My uncle gave me when I was a little kid. I never would sell it because it’s the only one I have. It’s very worn but the date and mintmark are bold. I guess he saved it because it was a lower mintage one at just under 1 million made.
Actually, that ‘27S SLQ looks pretty nice to me. Obviously nowhere near MS but lots of detail and I’m no expert but it doesn’t look cleaned. And a CC seated dime would totally make my day even in that shape.
Boom what’s up rob! Nice to see you upload another silver video! Hopefully you got some sweet stuff and maybe upload some wheat penny rolls to your site, I’d definitely get some and they would be great Christmas gifts for people
Another one of these silver coin extravaganza hunts, Rob, that makes my salivatory gland go on tilt, making a little pool of saliva gather down on the floor underneath me. I don't care if most of them are junk or cull. Just being able to watch these hunts are special to me because of the history and wonder that's involved as you search them. Nice SLQ's and barbers as well. Use a little blender and mascara on that neck scratch will clear it up right away! Thanks for the show! 🤩🤩🤩
Hey rob nice video to watch after my shift tonight. Keep up the good work. And those comm halves are a beauty. If you decide to sell the Lexington comm half I’d be interested. Have a good night!
Enjoyed the video. I'm a relatively new subscriber and don't comment much but I do watch all your videos. I learned a lot from them. Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan Ps... Thank you for not doing this slow motion silver dump, drives me nuts 🤪
Super finds. I think the 1925 sesquicentennial commemorative was the coolest find, same with the CC dime and the 1825 dime - pre-1829 silver other than halves is super hard to come by.
@@RobFindsTreasure still would love to see where you are with them! I love those really old coins they’re fascinating and you seem to be just as knowledgeable about them as the ones we see more often in your videos.
Maybe it’s just the lighting, but it looked like the 1917 SLQ you already had in your collection had better luster than the one you just bought. I didn’t see any luster on the new purchase… unless it just didn’t display well under the lighting for the video.
*This was a decent hunt Rob. It's possible you can melt the damaged coins at some point? I would love to watch that video. At least you can have a nice chunk of silver from those damaged coins. :)*
Always been curious. Why do the Columbian Exposition coins always seem to turn dark while other US silver doesn't seem to do the same thing? Just curious.
I know... I am not sure why tbh but those and a few other coins seemt o darken more than others. I also find it odd that a lot of 1915 Buffalo Nickels are reddish.
Rob, I just picked up a 2009 (P) Lincoln cent with the Capitol reverse in red MS condition in change. Is this something collectible? ~Bill S., Horsham, PA

90% halfs at 11$ seems about market price, esp considering silver is at 23.50 rn. I wouldnt pay more than 22x right now though
@@felixpeltier6164 Yeah, that's honestly not a bad price given current market trends. 30x face for dimes is absolutely insane, and 26x for quarters isn't much better.
The dimes and quarters is a dollar more each then at my lcs but it's same price on half dollars is that normal prices for them or am I overpaying
@@felixpeltier6164 I got some for $9 the other day. Silver quarters seem to range from $4-5, war nickels around $1, and silver dimes around $2.
I just love constitutional silver bags. I need to buy a Seated Liberty half-dollar for my collection. Thanks for sharing your purchase.
😍😍 the Stone Mountain and the Lexington half dollar 😍😍. The whole bag has very nice stuff to get as constitutional silver

The oldest coins I’ve seen in your albums are barber stuff. Do you have seated/capped bust albums? I’d love a video on those at some point if you do!

Love these little bags! You should make your own grab bags on eBay!
I have thought about it. For now, I just do them periodically on Wednesday and Friday Streams.
I just finished re watching the PCGS unboxing where you had sent in a 17 type one
Yeah, these were MUCH better but that was one of my first SLQ's I ever had so I am partial to it.
@@RobFindsTreasure I might be interested in the one you culled out of the album. I've always wanted a type 1 in decent condition
Maybe it’s just the lighting, but it looked like the 1917 SLQ you already had in your collection had better luster than the one you just bought. I didn’t see any luster on the new purchase… unless it just didn’t display well under the lighting for the video.
It's true. I felt the new one had better details and a little less luster. Hard to decide which one I like better to be honest.

Good evening Rob
Hi Jack!
great video rob. at 16.20 , just curious how that’s considered machine doubling and not double die? still new to finding varieties
the 1927-s is a key date!
Hello
Always been curious. Why do the Columbian Exposition coins always seem to turn dark while other US silver doesn't seem to do the same thing? Just curious.
I know... I am not sure why tbh but those and a few other coins seemt o darken more than others. I also find it odd that a lot of 1915 Buffalo Nickels are reddish.
Rob, I just picked up a 2009 (P) Lincoln cent with the Capitol reverse in red MS condition in change. Is this something collectible? ~Bill S., Horsham, PA
Any 2009 pennies in MS condition are collectible, but only as a set to most.
sweet
Rob says no slow motion for this pour out. Instantly go to turn playback speed in settings to .25% so I can view the pour as the Lord intended.
Do you need a membership to get coin boxes from your local Wells Fargo? Im wondering because i am wanting to get penny boxes for Christmas
Hey Rob I was wondering if you got my recent email sent it this morning picked up a couple coins was excited for you to see them and check them out
Rob, can you please tell me about the microscope/magnifier you use in your videos? I'm sure you've posted about it elsewhere, but I'm new to your channel and I really don't want to wade through all the comments on all the videos. Thank you!
Do you have any estimate for the amount of silver in a 1879 Morgan silver dollar?
Also do you have an idea of why there’s a tiny little O at the bottom and it’s definitely from the mint
But it’s not in the proper mint spot
About 3/4 ounce
Some of those coins look familiar to be honest.
Man i want to eat the silver so bad😂
I love silver coins.
