Maggie Rogers and guitarist Elle Puckett perform an acoustic version of "Light On," from Rogers' forthcoming album, "Heard It In a Past Life," live in The Current studio.
she sounds like the cold water in a lake far far away surrounded by rich forests with a slim light coming through the trees and hitting the water making a thousand lights dance
There's something bewitching about her voice don't you think? I feel at peace after I have heard her voice......no lie...just the truth.Maybe there's more here than the apparent artist.
This song help me to fight my depression and anxiety . And always lift it my spirit to keep moving on , thank you for exist Maggie and create such an amazing song .
I find myself craving these acoustic studio recordings when I’m listening to my purchased albums. I just can’t replace the energy of an artist feeling their music while they’re sharing their story with me. Maggie Rogers and Elle Puckett seem to draw on the energy of one another. No matter what environment surrounds them.. they feed one another. Elle Pucket plucks that first cord and Maggie Rogers seems to transcend back to the moment a song was borne. I love her work so much. I can literally feel her making sense of the world and adding strength to who she is as her art is released. She’s the kind of artist that gives me the release I need in my life by sharing her own stories. This was a great recording. Thank you to “The Current” for bringing such beautiful work to TH-cam. We’re living our lives to these recordings we’ll likely talk about for the rest of our lives. Thank you all. This was great! ~Sheeara, Alaska
Really a tribute to the writing and composition and performance. Take it to the essence of the song and you really get to hear and appreciate the artistry. She writes with just her acoustic guitar and spirit. And she kills it in live performances with the band. Quite an amazing talent.
I hear this song at work all the time, and i fell in love instantly. Hearing this perfection acoustic performance.... I'm wondering where the hell has she been all my life. Maggie you talk to my soul...... 💘
Would you believe me now If I told you I got caught up in a wave? Almost gave it away Would you hear me out If I told you I was terrified for days? Thought I was gonna break Oh, I couldn't stop it Tried to slow it all down Crying in the bathroom Had to figure it out With everyone around me saying "You must be so happy now" Oh, if you keep reaching out Then I'll keep coming back And if you're gone for good Then I'm okay with that If you leave the light on Then I'll leave the light on And I am finding out There's just no other way That I'm still dancing at the end of the day If you leave the light on Then I'll leave the light on And do you believe me now That I always had the best intentions, babe? Always wanted to stay Can you feel me now That I'm vulnerable in…
I have been disheartened with the state of "popular music" in the last several years, but every time I hear this song (especially with the live versions),and frankly all of Maggie's other songs, I am more encouraged that Uber-talented and totally honest artists such as Maggie are still able to break through to shake the musical consciousness of the world.
@@emmavanherk8154 No she's not. She used to though. Nowadays she looks like a man and probably doesn't shave her armpits and legs. And that is the opposite of hot. Poor girl. Hope she comes around!
They say If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? You will hear Maggie Singing in a forest,if no one was around xx
I can't really help feeling like this song is a different take on or point of view of the song Leave a Light on by Belinda Carlisle. Maybe some kind of continuation.
She wrote it to her audience when she decided to take a pause after finishing the post-college explosion to fame. I love the universal feeling of leaving the light on. Maintaining hope for something you gave up on but still can’t let go of.

To whoever you're thinking of while listening to this song, I hope they leave the light on.

I can’t believe this is my first time hearing her. I can’t stop watching
Are you kidding? She plays with such sensitivity she almost steals the spotlight. It doesn't hurt that she is so stinking cute.
One of my best findings on TH-cam. Thank you Maggie for showing some light to a beautiful music.
This is so good. Reminds me of the brother and sister duo Sierra and Chase Eagleson.

Love that you mark Fsharp with your thumb. I do that. Are you from Venus?

I feel attacked. This song is just too much
Same!
Can we please talk about who’s gonna pay the electric bill if you two keep the light on?
I was hoping she’d get up and dance
My mom always gets mad at me for leaving the light on
I dont know, somehow the voice didnt matched the guitar rythm
i noticed that too! so weird...
@@merz2642 I hear you both. I ask that you listen to it without watching the video and see if you still feel the same way.
Her voice is a counterpoint to the guitar rhythm~
boh, ma come cazzo vi vestite. Niente di che alla fine.
