I find myself craving these acoustic studio recordings when I’m listening to my purchased albums. I just can’t replace the energy of an artist feeling their music while they’re sharing their story with me. Maggie Rogers and Elle Puckett seem to draw on the energy of one another. No matter what environment surrounds them.. they feed one another. Elle Pucket plucks that first cord and Maggie Rogers seems to transcend back to the moment a song was borne. I love her work so much. I can literally feel her making sense of the world and adding strength to who she is as her art is released. She’s the kind of artist that gives me the release I need in my life by sharing her own stories. This was a great recording. Thank you to “The Current” for bringing such beautiful work to TH-cam. Really a tribute to the writing and composition and performance. Take it to the essence of the song and you really get to hear and appreciate the artistry. She writes with just her acoustic guitar and spirit. And she kills it in live performances with the band. Quite an amazing talent.

I can't really help feeling like this song is a different take on or point of view of the song Leave a Light on by Belinda Carlisle. Maybe some kind of continuation.
She wrote it to her audience when she decided to take a pause after finishing the post-college explosion to fame. I love the universal feeling of leaving the light on. Maintaining hope for something you gave up on but still can’t let go of.
