WOW Mike. Another top notch video of your conversion uploads bro. Those boards looks so clean like they just came off the assembly line. Videos like these need to be preserved for the years to come to help others in the Neo-Geo community for sure. 8^) If you like Mike, feel free to post this awesome video on the Neo-Geo thread. It will benefit the members and guest like all your other content you share with us bro. Thank you as always and keep up the great work for sure. 8^) Anthony..
Where did you order them metal sponges at to open the cartridge because I have a metal slug 5 it's authentic and one of the boards and is loose so I need to open it to make it to tighten it back up🎮🕹😀👍🏾
Yo Mike, what's good? Nice tear down dude. Those PCB's look nice and clean. The insert and the manual look nicely printed as well. I wanna see that MS multi-cart tear down sometime in the near future. 🍻
Yeah man you and me both. It’s actually sitting on my work bench. Still shrink wrapped but hopefully next on the to do list followed by krautbuster which I also haven’t opened yet sitting here for months!
Bro you have no idea. Also I’m working on a surprise Neo Geo mod. I’m making 5 of them as a test. I just finished my beta and it worked out pretty awesome. I wanted to send you one to try out as well as a few of the other regulars. If your down send me your contact info Mikesarcaderepair@gmail.com
I like your video I'm going to tell you something I just got a fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves conversion rare still to find but this one was professionally done because it was no fake part all snk Hardware no fake roms no fake pins all Snk Hardware which makes it authentic the open up original mark of the wolf it will have the same boards and everything will be the same as the conversion I got from the insert the manual everything was done professionally I paid almost $900 for it versus pan almost 10,000 for the original has the same original snk Hardware in I got it from a cat and Philadelphia it was on eBay in about 181 people have in there basket on eaby i swoop it up quick it's one of the best conversions I seen cable television conversion open up the cartridge look at the snk Hardware everything was authentic in that bored and it's a little heavier than that other cartridges but all cartridges don't weigh the same I am very happy with it I would love to get your feedback on this 🕹🎮😀👍🏾
I love neo geo games and i prefer pay for a conversion game than spend 600-5000 dollars in an original game. Many people hates this conversions because these people have original neo geo games and they wants makes money. There are some people that make conversions better than original ones.
I see that you redid the video and removed some infos, good on you man. By the way, they used to take ZMC2 chips from MVS motherboards and AES cartridges. Hopefully they found a way to clone the chip now. Do you see anything on the boards that look out of place (like used, old, etc) ?
Yeah you were right on man. I thought it would be interesting to add the backstory but I ended up breaking my own rule of not promoting where I get them. That’s pretty disappointing to hear that those chips may still be stolen. I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary but then again I also wasn’t looking hard since I assumed everything was new. Thanks for the feedback!
@@mike7599 @Mike7599 Sorry I was a little harsh on you the first time, you're obviously a good guy who didn't know any better at the time. It's pretty clear to me now that you care about the hobby. Subscribed.
This is a series I’m doing on many different metal slug conversions. I collect them since it’s my favorite game. This video is part 4 in the series and I figured I would switch it up a little bit just to show something a little different. I did put a note in the video title and the thumbnail pic that this is a repro cart. If your interested you check parts 1-3 out they are all true conversions. Thanks.
Packaging wise, it looks good. Functionality wise, this is the worst. All those parts are rated for 3.3v, and you're sticking it into a console that outputs 5v logic. This is gonna fry the cartridge, after a good amount of use.
Thanks for the comment. It’s cool to hear from someone who seems to know the ins and outs of this. I’ve been hearing the debate for years regarding the 3 volt vs 5 volt chips. Especially in regards to flash cartridges. But I’ve never actually seen anyone fry anything. Not saying your wrong, but I think it’s a little over hyped.
@@mike7599 The common misconception is that it will damage the console. The truth is, that only applies to SD Card Media being interfaced with no proper level conversion. 3.3v Flash memory without level conversion for a 5v system, is basically causing these flash chips and even the CPLD to run hotter, due to being ran out of their spec. So while this repro will work for now, it'll die out after prolonged use due to being ran out of spec for too long, without any sort of proper level conversion. Fortunately, since this isn't using any sort of SD Card media, this will only hurt the cartridge, not the console.
