I have always been a CR500 guy, I wouldn't even give the KX500 a chance because they are just so damn ugly and old looking....... until now! I have never seen a KX500 look so well proportioned as this bike! This KX500 actually looks fanfuckingtastic!!!
I felt the same about the KX until Service honda offered the KX500AF around a decade ago. It was a work of art just like this one.

If you wanna sell big bore 2T engines, develop a counter balancer that reduces the vibration. Similar to the modern 300's. It doesn't look impossible. It would take a cnc table & sum patience from Doug. If you were successful in making a bolt on counter balancer kit for big bore 2T's the Kaplan name would become immortal.

Rear fender is great. Those stock ones are such head scratchers. That alone makes the bike go from ugly to wow.

Reason is should we not be able to win the auction, we 100% will be requesting a KX500 to this EXACT same setup for racing the AORC (Australian Off Road Championship)...and once we win...we will then be answering to everyone down here in Australia who wants one..so we will be putting in an order 😊

Nice have a couple of guys at the local dealer that super motard rmz450's they chuck out 85hp+ at the wheels fully moded (520cc, custom ecu and a few extra goodies) soo really if power is your thing a 4 stroke still wins pretty easily but love 2 strokes.
can i see the dyno sheets or a video link here? if not im calling bullshtit on the claim of 85+ HP, in fact ill bet money thats a lie. -SR

I saw a video a while ago by a guy with a KTM 500 4 stroke fully modded supermoto and they claimed it put out just over 50 or 60hp to the wheel can’t quite remember. But strangely enough for some reason they blurred out the dyno screen the guy made some completely absurd excuse as to why he didn’t want to show the screen on camera made absolutely no sense 🤥. Don’t have a link but I’m sure if you searched modded KTM 500 4 stroke dyno you’d find it. In fact if i remember right the dyno wasn’t even set up properly with the fans and don’t know the name but the thing that goes behind the exhaust 🧐. Anyway another great video that is an absolutely gorgeous KX would love to see what she dyno’s at? Should do one just to show them how it’s done properly 😆. Iv an 80s guy and Iv got a built 02 ktm 125sx and Iv rode them all. Why no respect to 125s. They are the most fun torquey bikes and deserve more spotlight! Some of us can’t kick a 500 and surely not afford one. Well 125s kick ass to! Love your channel!
You dont watch enough of kaplan . I have personally seen kaplan himself ripping a fresh 125 just reborn by his army of wrenches several different times .. and how about the Husqvarna TC 125 that is transfer port electronic fuel injected that makes 40 horsepower ...who doesnt what to throw a leg over that one ..you should know of or the history of the 1982 suzuki RM125-Z full-floater ..that at age 32 i was able to score 3rd overall in the illiana supercross series in the 30+ open class battling everything bigger ...it was a hoot dude passing big maicos huskys old Elsinores kaws and yamadogs , everyone except two national pros sponsored by team kawasaki riding their KX250 factory works proto types and both riders that year decided to drop their ama pro license that by ama rules allows you to run all amateur classes as the 30+ open class is ....and whaaaaaa i would of had this if it wasnt for gene ramsey and gary peak ...and one night i was staring at the checkered flag with gary coming up on me hard. This was just after i purposely roosted both of them tangled up together on a berm ..and apparently gary managed to get up first .....and dumbass me had to see the look on gary's face and did the unthinkable and turned my head to look back at gary only to see a braaaap throwing away 1st giving the race to gary and putting myself in 2nd and costing me just enough points to put me into 3rd overall in the championship ...this was not my first rodeo putting pressure on the kaw boys causing them to fuck up ....but its all good kid ..get yourself a new 2023 husky TC125 efi 40 horsepower buzz bomb and embarrass a bunch with bigger bikes

They had a CR250 out there one day with a paddle tire like for sand dunes and it was tearing the kaplan complex apart faster than any knobs ..and that day at kaplan's someone mentioned that before the ama outlawed paddle tires in supercross a pro rider ran off with all the prices using a paddle tire ....i looked it up that day and sure enough you tube has a video , but i cant remember who it was ...do paddle tire ama supercross and see what comes up
