Turn that KX into "Supermoto" . You can't go wrong ! Believe me you will have tons of fun ! Also if you want good winter usage get a "Snow Bike Kit" and you will certainly make very good usage of that machine . I wish you lots of fun !
I’m enjoying your videos, but brother you sure do a lot of stuff backwards (in my opinion anyway). My method is to remove the engine before the forks front wheel, swing arm and rear wheel. Makes it so much easier. And the drain plug for the coolant is almost always on the pump cover. It should be easy to identify with the copper washer. Keep up the work and you’ll find ways to work easier! Best of luck.
Man I just have to say your videos are so funny and they are very entertaining and sometimes it’ll teach me abit about dirtbikes anyways keep up the great videos and keep doing dirtbike videos 😂
Carb would fit. Prolly a 40mm and 250 uses 34-36. Jetting will make it work. Gotta have a knarly pipe to get extra potential. Shorty will probably narrow the powerband slightly.
A bit more camera 🎥 detail 👍🏼 closer shot, but still a great video and looking forward for the rest 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 the carb could work but with some crazy jetting. Like rd 80 LC with Rxs 100 carb I did when I was younger, but with better results 💪🏼
Hey, do you have any tool kits to recommend to get started on working on bikes? I bought a kit from advance auto parts but it wasn’t metric or something like that so the sockets didn’t fix my bolts... maybe you know of a decent kit that contains most if not all the tools I need to work on common problems
Why didn't you just unbolt the skid plate and use the coolant drain bolt? Would've made a lot less mess. It's the small bolt at the bottom of the water pump cover, lol.
was keeping an eye on a similar kx 500 here in italy, so if that is the one you bought, it was listed 5k, but since i know you are better then anyone else taking prices low, 3.5k
Pull skid plate off first. Pull motor before stripping the bike, it just keeps it stable while you wrestle the engine out. Most bikes have a coolant drain screw or one of the bolts on the water pump (the lowest on usually) drains the coolant. But what ever good vid, nice bike.
You say the draining of the rads is a bad design? Go to 10:55, that upper bolt to the left o the KX500 raised print, is the drain plug/hole! Take out with the rad cap on, put bowl under, take rad cap off and ta daaaaaar, there you have it, cheers. Did the guy, hang on I'm assuming gender which is a tricky subject nowadays!? The person who opwned the bike beore you ever strip it down? Cuz damn, some of those bolts looked tight!
Long time no see!!! Sup Diedrich, love ur vids man, I’ve watched ur vids from the word go, these builds r by far my favourite. I’ve liked, subscribed, notification bell and followed ur insta. I think u paid $800 for the bike.
Hey I'm a big fan of you're channel and recently got into dirtbikes . And for the giveaway if you're already have all those things done are you still in the giveaway
I appreciate the way you wrench on bikes man, that kid motomigs makes me so frustrated with his half ass jury rigged builds. No bike deserves to be abused that way
Guys so this is a 2001 kx right? and it looks pretty outdated. The newer dirt bikes look really agressive and better. Can you put new plastics, seat and tank to make it look like a new one or the frame and everything isnt the same?
Anthony Nikoloski it’s more about the fact that it’s a 500cc two stroke and less what it looks like, but yes the design was almost unchanged from the early 90’s till 2004 when production ended. Some people throw them in new aluminum frame rollers but that can get very expensive.
Im pretty sure 62 percent of this bike is held together with zip ties and missing bolts. Lol you shoild see my bike. My oem gas tank started cracking from age so i have 8 zip ties holding 2 lawnmower gas tanks on it. Seat has 1 bolt hilding it skid plat has 3 different sizes of bolts. All the cotter pins have bent nails instead thanks to the owners before me. And thats just the things off the top of my head. Im sure theres more. I do have a honda gastank from an older bike i wanna put on it but im still stripping rust off it and it will need some fabrication.
There’s a drain plug for antifreeze on the water pump cover
Clearly didn't read the manual. Muppet.
Glad you started making vids again ! , great bike to build too don’t see many of these anymore can’t wait to see how it ends up looking
Theres a drain bolt either on the face or under neither the water pump cover every bike has one
The legendary KX500, love it.
Hey dude you should definetly not put that engine back into that frame. Throw it into a newer kx450 frame!
100 likes and he has too do it!!!
⏬
I can barely weld steel now you want me to weld alum. lol that thing would fall apart
Diedrich ever hear of JB weld😂
Might be worth outsourcing to a welding shop. They'd at least quote you a price for free.
Either way this build promises to be badass!
DubClub TV nah bro, keep it original!
Noooooo are you mental
Held together with hopes and dreams and zip ties sound like my car bumper grille and the front headlight is zipped tied on 😂😂
It'd be awesome if you could find someone to vapor blast all the metal parts, it looks even better than new!
Turn that KX into "Supermoto" . You can't go wrong ! Believe me you will have tons of fun ! Also if you want good winter usage get a "Snow Bike Kit" and you will certainly make very good usage of that machine . I wish you lots of fun !
Love the videos man keep up the good work.
Yes he's back and wow that's the best looking cosmetic kx500 and I bet it was 3,400
Is nobody gonna talk about the sin committed? Chrome sockets on an impact😂
That will break them. But do not worry, that is not an air gun.

Put a 450 rear fender on it👐
Lukas Radzimski definitely
Lukas Radzimski nah it’s a 500 you gotta keep it classic
I’m excited for the rest of this project. Also I’m glad you’re back.👍👍💨💨💨
750$? Im quessing u got it for cheap cuz u always get awesome deals
It would be worth at least 1500 in the UK so guessing American prices is impossible since they go for way cheaper
@@dicksplatts007 It would be worth much more than that now, you can't even get a bad condition 125 for 1500.
These rebuilds are so satisfying to watch
Well I did all 3 hope I can win!
And also I guess 1350 for the bike
1450$
1750
$1150
$900
Man I just have to say your videos are so funny and they are very entertaining and sometimes it’ll teach me abit about dirtbikes anyways keep up the great videos and keep doing dirtbike videos 😂
The 500 carb will work on the 250 with the proper jetting
Carb would fit. Prolly a 40mm and 250 uses 34-36. Jetting will make it work. Gotta have a knarly pipe to get extra potential. Shorty will probably narrow the powerband slightly.
I think the bike costs you like 1000/1500$
Edit: how cool would it be a kx500 supermoto?
Tech tip ,... most of the screws are JIS.. you need a JIS screwdriver
Older Kawasaki subframes all have Allen key bolts
Also don’t forget to Cerakote engine parts and triple clamps also update the bike so it looks a bit newer
Hey bro can I have those riding boots. I don’t have a bike yet but I guess they would look pretty cool to wear to school or some🙂
A bit more camera 🎥 detail 👍🏼 closer shot, but still a great video and looking forward for the rest 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 the carb could work but with some crazy jetting. Like rd 80 LC with Rxs 100 carb I did when I was younger, but with better results 💪🏼
I think that you paid $1100

I'll bet you got the bike for $1,200 and a bird feeder
Hey man next time you drain the coolant undo the drain bolt on the water pump housing👍
2300
Bingo.
What email do you want it sent to?
I guessed that because that’s how much my bike costed😂
Bro i guessed 2300 aswell 14 hours ago just like you!🙄
Did you get my email
nice proiect bruh, keep it up, love ur vids, greetings from Romania 💜
Get cracking ! Can't wait for part 2
Really excited to see the next video 😛
All those bolts at least she's like that cuz that thing migrates unbelievably insane.
Why didn't you just unbolt the skid plate and use the coolant drain bolt? Would've made a lot less mess. It's the small bolt at the bottom of the water pump cover, lol.

Is it just a resto or a supermoto conversion?
Make a retro style kx with the big pink kx logo on the side 😍😍 thats always been my dream bike
Pull skid plate off first. Pull motor before stripping the bike, it just keeps it stable while you wrestle the engine out.
Most bikes have a coolant drain screw or one of the bolts on the water pump (the lowest on usually) drains the coolant. But what ever good vid, nice bike.
Great Build! For its age it's in pretty good condition I would guess so I think you paid around 2250$ for it.
I’m guessing that you paid $1800. It’s so good to see you making videos again.
Love those rear pegs. Hope you are putting them back on.LOL
Awesome bike dude & very nice
I entered to win, good luck yall! Awesome video btw! Need part 2! And more!
You say the draining of the rads is a bad design? Go to 10:55, that upper bolt to the left o the KX500 raised print, is the drain plug/hole! All 3 have been done! I'm a size 12 👍😁
i really hope you get some updated plastics becuse out of all the years i thought the kx500s never looked that great
you can also powercoat the hubs in some dope color
Does that bike weigh under 200lbs without the rear fender?
Can't wait to see the ending results
i love your content man keep these vids ,,💙
Really need some boots right now!
Why wouldn’t you pull the drain plug in the water pump?
900 for the bike. Great video, keep the content coming!
What year is the yz 250 keep up the good work
I paid $1800 for mine years ago..
Go with the "as cast" look. I think it makes it look more like an old-school works bike.
Long time no see!!! Sup Diedrich, love ur vids man, I’ve watched ur vids from the word go, these builds r by far my favourite. I’ve liked, subscribed, notification bell and followed ur insta. I think u paid $800 for the bike.
Can you put kx450 plastics on it and get some custom graphics?
Im guessing around 1600$
What adapter did you use for the impact?
You should make a supermotard of it!
Is a kx 500 rare ? And is it expansive ?
Is that a suzuki samurai??
3:10 your dirt bike take the number 420 😂🤫😉
Beautiful bike.
Yup a 32mm mikuni will fit the 250.
Keep doing your thing man 👍🏽👍🏽 doin good work Bro 💯😎🤙🏽
U do know there is a drain bolt on the water pump cover in like every bike
you realize all bikes have a drain bolt on the water pump cover for the coolant so you don't have to take off the hose and get coolant everywhere
Oh boy oh boy I would love some riding boots instead of my vans cause hitting a cactus with your foot in 5th gear is kinda horrible lol
4:54 mortal kombat guy made my day XD Aaaand, I'm guesing 2000 $
Hey I'm a big fan of you're channel and recently got into dirtbikes . And for the giveaway if you're already have all those things done are you still in the giveaway
Awesome video!! 👌
Great build
Actually people use the 250 carb on the 500 for more bottom end torque!
Hey that scene at 9:55 reminds me of "ALIEN" and the acid and that creature with 3 sets of jaws .
I appreciate the way you wrench on bikes man, that kid motomigs makes me so frustrated with his half ass jury rigged builds. No bike deserves to be abused that way

is it a four stroke?
I did all three really in need of boots. Hope I win
Im pretty sure 62 percent of this bike is held together with zip ties and missing bolts. Lol you shoild see my bike. Sweet builds. Subscribe, clicked that bell and found ya on the gram
That bike is sweet I had a 93 kx250 with a big bore kit it was awesome I'm going to say 1100 for bike
Finally get to see a kx500 complete rebuild. The bike was $2500 maybe...
I guess $900. If you keep this bike you should buy shares in Loctite. Then you can have all the bolts still.
i guess its around 1,7k, if not, my excuse is that i am from germany and have no clue what your local market says
Oil = American soldiers shooting haha. Nice. Very fitting.
Nice jobs 😋
is giveaway worldwide or?
When are you picking the winner of the boots?
I am guessing the dude said the bike was blown up so probably something in the range of $600 through $750.
Where do you find such cheap bikes every dirt bike on my area craigslist is so overpriced!!
XD love the oil meme
i could totally use those boots the ones that i have now are destroyed
throw the engine in a newer kx450f frame and put retro graphics on it that’d be so sick
$2000 perhaps, great video dude
Done every thing for the boots. Hope to win I have grown out of my boots and am in the market for a new pair
1400$ ?
Great content btw👍🏻
$1450, sweet build👌
1200 and love the vids
