I didn't even realize that I was dropping my hand down before mawashi uke! Great observation! I guess every student does that while learning Saifa. EDIT: Also it occured to me that the motion comes from the kake practice.
@@GKCgoju Thank you for this interaction! This made me want to share something. My sensei once said while I was looking at the kids group training that it is great to have disciples because you can learn from THEM. Things like that open new dimensions.
Saying there is "no wrong in kata" is as bad as my title "don't do it wrong" 🤣. They both suggest an extreme where the truth most likely lies somewhere in the middle 😏. Thanks for watching the video and for your feedback.
@@GKCgoju To me my kata is mine. And your kata is yours and flawless. Concerning saifa : I first learned versions of it in shotokan and wado ryu. As Heian/Pinan Sandan. Later on in shima ha ryu - again as a pinan sandan. Whilst this was to me the "missing link" to the goju interpretation of probably the same older set, all were right to me. And still are.

Why move your hand all the way down..when it doesn't need to? Shihan's explanation makes sense to me so I'm changing the way I do the move.
That's why there Instructor, so called teachers, and Wise Students,.Mmm!. My point exactly. And Instructor can organize your training alignment. A teacher only can teach what he or she knows but wise students dig deep find ailments issues balances and refinement to upgrade their performance CYPHER issues within the KATA system itself
