I refused to give scalpers the business. I waited a year and bought my series x at normal price. It makes me so happy to hear they’re struggling now
Same here. It took me one and a half years until I finally had a PS5. But waiting that long to buy it for a normal price was definitely worth not giving some scalper a**hole the satisfaction. And yeah, anyone who bought one from a scalper is just as shitty a person as the scalpers themselves.
I liked setting up meetings with scalpers to buy their consoles but then never showing up. I’d also be like
“Sorry I’m running late. I’ll be there in 10 more minutes” repeatedly until they finally got the hint.
Waste as much of their time as possible lmao 🤣

@@Unknown_Genius Laundering money is actually very obvious most of the time and legal (real estate). We lobby our government (America) to make crimes legal if you have the money. If you launder money or do crimes at a street level, you will get punished. They love to audit the poor and let the rich go.

My initial reaction to the temperature-changing controller is that it'd be nice to have a controller that can keep your hands cool during a summer gaming session, or warm during a winter one.

It's Unreal Engine Features Nanite and Lumen that AAA studios are to big and bloated with bureaucracy and systems to adopt instantly
@Thanos_Dawn dont get me wrong I prefer stylized games more than I prefer games to look hyper realistic, but I think it can show what Unreal Engine can do and will open an opportunity for indie developers to create games that they have always wanted to, especially in the horror community
That Eve Online heist wasn't that spectacular lol, there's been more heists on Eve that payed out way more than that
I Hope Sony Buys them and then they can make a Call of Duty Clone that would beat call of dutys graphics
The movement alone is the most impressive thing for me. I cant see it working in a competitive fps but I could see it excelling in horror
The EVE Online thing is fun because, essentially, it's an active player who's tired of being in a guild run by a bunch of inactives, but can't get out because of his investment, getting his rich friend to help him takeover, so he can start playing again.
8:40...I actually really love the idea of this being a challenge they set up like literally making a challenge run for people to play through FPS games without committing a war crime to raise awareness, that's actually kind of genius
Pacifist run in Undertale comes to mind.
It's just a precursor to them at some point charging people for war crimes. They'll say that if you'll do it in a game, then you're the kind of person to do it for real. Mark my words, they'll do it. Especially with games like Unrecord coming out. They'll say games are becoming too realistic not to hold people accountable for what we do in games.

Any time I ever hear about this Eve online game it sounds like the most insanely detailed groundbreaking industry changing game ever made that takes transporting you to a fantasy world to another level….then I see the gameplay and I’m just so confused
1 part space sim, 1 part stock trading simulator.
Eve online is basically excel spreadsheet. It's not for everyone it's complicated tried it once after an hour stopped playing

I think the flat structure thing Jay was referring to was just that it's kinda impossible to do if the higher ups don't care to make it. Usually with game companies they would want you to present something to them to even consider pursuing it. It's hard doing work and trying to get this 3rd game made 🤷🏾♀️
Yeah definitely confused as how he interpreted "flat structure" as to the work being involuntary. I think he needs a dictionary, involuntary would mean they are literally forced to do it against their will, forced meaning the consequences for disobedience is physical power. Sounds like some commie gobbledygook to me.
No Valve is structured where, basically everyone works on their own passion project and if you can convince your co-workers of its potential it will continue development. The developer for the Steam Deck went into pretty solid detail in his interview with the Friends Per Second podcast crew a couple months ago.
Basically, valve doesn’t have the traditional “higher-ups” which creates difficulty getting resources to start and complete projects. With a more hierarchical structure, he could then go to the “higher-ups” and tell them what he wants to do but needs additional resources to complete the project. He needs to sell to one person/group to Marshall resources. It sounds like in the current structure he would be required to go around to each person and convince them for their help individually when they have their own competing interests at play.
The red cross thing is actually pretty genius. It's a really great way to show people (people who probably don't know) what war crimes are and how often they happen IRL. Kudos to whoever thought it up.
To be fair, it would also be a fun challenge.

Not mentioned in the ARK news is that players will be able to download their current public server to continue solo or on a private server, so not all is lost. Odd stuff going on with the ARKs lately but I'm still hopeful... possibly foolishly so.
The cooling ability of the controller could be nice considering I do find my hands get warm and sometimes sweaty from playing long sessions. But the battery is already a issue with longevity so they need to improve that before adding more functionality that will drain the battery even quicker.

For real tho, I'm super excited for Outlast Trials. It comes out May 18 and I'm definitely getting that. It's gonna be so good, especially since there's multiplayer. Also, the Golum game looks like Styx, which is ok cause the Styx games were really good stealth games. Also, if i want to commit war crimes in a game, then I'll commit a war crime.... because it's a video game....

I bought Ark years ago because my friend told me he and a bunch of his friends were playing it a ton. So I shilled out $90 to buy the game + DLC that I needed to play with them. We played a little bit before they all stopped playing like 2 weeks after I bought it. While I did play it a bit on my own afterwards, I've hardly touched it. I keep telling myself I ought to sit down and put like 20 hours into it so it's not a complete loss, but hearing this news, I might just donate it or sell it to Gamestop.

I'm still giddy that I came across a PS4 Pro pre-pandemic and kinda had the money for it, because I ended up discovering I had cancer a few months later, and was housebound during the biggest waves of Covid. PS5 launched and immediately went to scalpers, but they seemed to stop making PS4's as well, so nothing was available for like 2+ years.

Based on that valve story, they don't do much research. Valve's employees don't volunteer their time without pay, they get paid no matter what they work on. The just choose what projects they want to work on.

Yeah the Red Cross are really freaking strange for that ask, but it's an effective move. How often do you stop and think about the crazy shit you do in games that is straight up terrible and happening in places like Ukraine rn? I actually don’t see PS5s in my area still unless they’re in GameStop which only sells bundles for some reason (which are like 100-150 more). And forget about finding a digital edition (the one I want) it’s impossible.

The flat structure at Valve doesn't mean people aren't paid. It means they are paid, but whether or not they want to work on a project is voluntary, and/or would have to do it in their free time. Basically, Valve hasn't made Portal 3 because no one at Valve has decided to work on it. I'm also guessing that generally, some portion of the game has to be complete before Valve green-lights it, so people would have to make like 25% of the game on a volunteer basis before Valve says "ok we'll fund this" or not.
Why would Valve bother to make any games? They make tons of money already taking 30% commission from every sale.

Just a pro operator tip for those who don't want to commit war crimes: Before you walk past a presumed dead person, put a bullet in him. If he's injured, the second you take a step past him he is now officially a POW and you must tend to him and his medical needs. If you shoot him before you take a step past him, he's an injured enemy combatant who may still be able to fire at you. Also, it is illegal to use white phosphorus on enemy troops as it's deemed chemical warfare. But it's not illegal to use white phosphorus on enemy equipment. Thus the term, "Shake and Bake" is used. You drop a few rounds of high explosive on the enemy and they are now presumed dead. You immediately follow that up with white phosphorus to destroy enemy equipment. 100% legal and not chemical warfare.
