DFS is going to be a great fit next to Lebron and Davis. He's going to feast with open corner 3s off passes from Lebron. And we already know about his versatile defense
Ironically, Max Lewis & Dariq Whitehead were my two favorite 'Sleepers' for the 23' Draft. I know Lewis struggled post-Draft but I'd like to see him get a 2nd chance w/ the Nets.
I would consider giving Russell a 4 year extension as he heads into his prime at a 12 million to 15 million range. He isn't getting much more in free agency and he can be important in a quick turnaround.
I wouldn't be surprised if DLo starts hitting his 3's, regains his confidence, avg like 20pts & 6ast and 'helps' the Nets win 3 or 4 more games than DFS would've.
I would have preferred an FRP for Dorian but since The Grizzlies weren't really serious with their offer, Marks got the best he could with the Lakers deal. The return salary is confusing to me, Dennis who was expiring was traded because he was winning us games so trading for another expiring guard who is better offensively doesn't make sense. Is possibly getting another 2nder before the deadline worth it? when they have 16 2nds, Dlo should've been rerouted or waived. Playing him so he can find a job elsewhere while hurting our lottery odds just doesn't make sense.
Folks every time this year, Doug has told us that we shouldn’t be worried about a player coming in and outperforming and ruining the tank. He has been wrong. We have all been wrong about this team and I think should be very concerned because we have a coach that can turn turds into gold so if anybody could rejuvenate Russell, it’s Jordie. What is Russell do really well pick and roll what did Dennis do? Really well pick and roll plug Russell into that position you’re back to where you were before.
I honestly don’t have any idea what Mark is thinking. Say what you want about Russell when he gets hot, she can go on a 10 game hot streak that’s just the type of player he is and now he’s extra motivated being that he’s a free agent and there’s gonna be less scrutiny with the nets? In the end, if Russell plays what he’s capable of playing, then you got better not worse in this trade and when Cam comes back? I will say this again this team is not gonna be good but they’re not bad enough where they’re gonna be able to make up ground on the wizards of the world and with that you got a hope strap is more like 15 deep not six.
Now my question is? Will BS still he in the starting lineup? Cause he’d fit better coming off the bench to run the offense when Dlo comes out the game or slot him at the 5 when Clax comes out. Dlo will add floor spacing and vision.
I think Dl and Claxton fit better off the bench and start Sharp. Thomas needs Ben for the extra defender in the back court there for his minutes, and even if it means Claxton and Simmons together I'll take it. Thomas and Dl minutes is just horrible defence and Simmons for all the stuff we give is actually sorta useful for what the team is like in terms of winning.
@ Barring injury Starting: 1. Dangelo Russell 2. Cam Thomas 3. Cam Johnson 4. Zaire Williams 5. Nic Claxton Bench: 1. Ben Simmons/Trenton Watford 2. Tyrese Martin 3. Jalen Wilson 4. Noah Clowney 5. Day-Ron Sharpe This what I’d imagine and you can switch things around depending on what works and what doesn’t
@@Kegotback likey what they will do. But I would just prefer Ben on with Cam than Russel for the start and he is much better at the start of a game. Meanwhile Claxton feels he kinda sucks these days too
giving a 40% 3s for a 30% 3s is another smart move , like taking Simmons , what else do you expect ? O yes, may be giving a new 200 milions contract to Simmons, and staying framed forever ...
The Grizzlies tried to screw the Nets… They wanted the 2nd round pick back… Say Memphis finishes 5th to the bottom of the first round and the nets finish at a top 5 pick in the second round… That’s only 10 positions to have to keep paying the second player for 2 years… So basically the Lakers offer was the best and it wasn’t even close…
I see your point. The Lakers don't care about the draft picks because they will always get superstars and other players to their team. Warm weather, better living, etc.
Don’t think this is a good fit if they want to tank. Think D-Lo going to play better in Brooklyn. He’s not going to have the pressure of LeBron hanging over him.
All these fools do is talk about Cooper Flagg. Give up all your good players for a hype that can score 20 but give up 30. Nets wonder why they always REBUILDING.👈🤡
DLo and Cam Thomas will be a ton of fun to watch play on offense
😂😂 and getting torch on defense

I think Cam Johnson ends up on OKC, too many rumors linking the 2 and Nic Claxton to Memphis for Santi Aldama as well
OKC can trade for anybody at any time!! That's my best guess too!

Welcome back D'Lo❗❗❗
They better have a plan b with D lo cause we been down this road before and the sign said Dead End !!
Dlo was always the player the Lakers were going to offer in a trade.
At best, we get some Dennis Schroder like performances from DLo. At worst, it’s like the second Dinwiddie reunion

Why the lakers ? They had to be better offers out there for DFS
Nah he was never gonna get more than what the lakers gave up

I thought Dfs was a decent dude. He showed his true classless colors. I’ll never root for that bum
I guarantee you're Caucasian with an audacious comment like that. You don't own DFS and the Nets didn't draft him! They traded him.

Nets gave up a point guard; now the nets got a point guard. Maybe the nets actually got better?
