      I like Ayo a lot on this team, I’ve recommended the same Ayo/Craig trade before lol. Ideally you could get away with sending just an unprotected swap and 2nds. Maybe if CHI preferred a 1st to a swap, OKC would send them a late 1st in exchange for an unprotected swap in like 2028. OKC did that before, and if I were them I’d value the upside of an LAL unprotected swap down the line more than a pick that’ll end up in the 20s when they have so many.

    I don't think there's a wing that's worth the Lakers going for. For what they'd have to give up. It's much cheaper and more realistic to go after a quality backup big that can maybe play some starter minutes. I'm definitely not interested in Brown for Rui and picks.
    How much better are you really getting when you're losing one of your best three-point shooters and you're basically just swapping players at that position? And you have to add picks just to make the move? What's even the point of that when Rui is already used to the system and you don't have to roll the dice to see how he plays on the team?
    If the Lakers really wanted an athletic guard who's pretty solid on defense and offense, they wouldn't needed D-Lo's expiring $18 mil contact that wasn't producing that much for the Lakers this season anyways. It's a bit too late and unrealistic at this point. Unless a team really wants Gabe and Vando which I highly doubt.

      i mean Bruce is more versatile when it comes to positions. Yes we do lose Rui's shooting and scoring but Bruce can somewhat do that and adds better defense. Tricky situation I say don't trade Rui but put DFS in the starting group. To me, a backup big and another 3&D but one that can play 2-3 should be our focus and then find a PG in the buyout market. I may be more in the minority though in that I don’t care if we add a center if all we want is another backup. I like Koloko a lot I’d be fine if we move one in a trade and move Koloko up. Plus I just don’t trust that JJ has any real interest in a two big game 95 percent of the time.

  • @tylerk4641
    @tylerk4641 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

    Look i understand the desire to get faster and more athletic as well and the majority of teams in league Lakers wouldn't have a issue going against in terms of needing more size. HOWEVER what we've seen in 2 straight playoff losses to nuggets and going 0-2 vs cavs this season is that teams with big lineups will continue to be a problem for us until the Lakers get a better backup big. If the Lakers don't get another big there basically banking on that they wouldn't play a big sized team in playoffs like nuggets. If that's the case instead of playing nuggets your playing teams like Memphis, Houston, okc, Dallas it's one thing. But again your banking a lot that you won't get matched up against a big team like nuggets and if you do your basically again in a bad spot. Also the Cavs are the best team in league. The celtics are another top level team unfortunately and also have a bit of size. New york is another good team and has a lot of size. 76ers as bad as they've started the season they have a lot of size and could be dangerous in playoffs. If the Lakers want to win a championship the likely hood is whoever comes outta the east is gonna be a big team and then Lakers would be to small. We need a better backup big. Hayes is a third string guy. He's not bad but he's not gonna help us a lot in many of the matchups and Wood who hasn't played yet this season isn't a defensive big.
    Preferably we get a upgrade at the back up big spot and add maybe one more athletic guard/ wing.

    More faster & athletic doesn't necessarily mean they won't target another big man. Robert Williams III, Nick Richards, Day'ron Sharpe (I doubt he's available now & if he was, maybe the Lakers would've gotten him), maybe Duop Reath from Portland. I don't see the Lakers getting another wing or guard on the trade market without trading Rui and I don't see them trading Rui

  • @davidparks4835

    Trade JHS, Gabe, Wood for anybody. I don’t understand Rob. It’s low price centers besides Kessler we can go after like Missi, Theis, Duren, Powell, Richards, Valanciunas, Adams, Landale, Fernando, Looney, Nance, Thompson, Sharpe. It doesn’t even have to be someone that’s well known, just get a physical body in the paint to play next to AD. This is needed against teams like Grizzlies, Nuggets, Timberwolves. I wouldn’t trade Rui for a big salary player. I would trade Gabe and Vando together for a big salary player like Vucevic or Capela. We can start AD with another big and keep Hayes as the backup big. Koloko can fill in when Hayes is injured. For athleticism, we should try to trade for players like Collin Sexton, Kelly Oubre, Derrick Jones Jr, Kyle Kuzma, John Collins, Keldon Johnson, Peyton Watson, and more. Also we could get more bench scoring from players like Donte Divencio, Jordan Clarkson, Eric Gordon.

    Waiting for Vanderbilt is a mistake. All that'll trigger is less minutes for Rui, Knecht, Dorian Finney-Smith & Christie AND less offense, since Vanderbilt is offensively challeged. In short, Vanderbilt creates an unnecessary logjam and Lakers will be in another situation to where it's obvious they need to make a trade and every team knows it so they lowball them. And people wonder why th Lakers always get lowballed because they always try to make moves way too late🤷‍♂️

    A back up C that won't play much behind AD is low on the priority list.
    What they really need is a point guard. As it's constructed, it would have to be a two way guard to play alongside AR or it would be another DLO/AR and likely a downgrade.
    It's going to be hard to find a point guard that can fit next to AR. It would be a lot easier to find a one way point guard that can run the offense and then look to replace AR with a 3&D player.

  • @MBeano
    @MBeano วันที่ผ่านมา

    I think the Dan Woike piece is really pointing to something else, more specific. Lakers do NOT need a slower older Center NEXT to AD. This piece touches on many things including the desire to be quicker and more athletic. Combining everything, it makes most sense to what many of us have stated - NO large contracts on aging slower Bigs, meaning both big Vs are out. Split the resources in terms of salaries and picks between a cheaper backup big (Kessler or Richards would be ideal), and an athletic defensive playmaker guard or wing.
