I'm not expecting more than a single 2nd for Dlo. He was bad for the Lakers. A contenteder only gets him for half a year. They need to match 18 million. Nets get lucky if they get any value for him at the trade deadline.
This was a better deal than the Memphis deal. No need to have 6 picks this year with 4 or 5 being in 20s. Unless they get lucky with lottery they are not getting 1 or 2 pick because wizards, Pelicans and Utah are not getting to 17 wins. I would be fine with Dlo as the PG the next 4 years on team friendly deal.
A team people should keep their eye on are the New Orleans pelicans. What are they going to do with Zion? Also, Ingram is a free agent. Would the pelicans be open to trying to move Zion if they are Mark has the pieces and players to get it done, but is he a player that the Nets would be willing to take a risk on because the dude cannot stay healthy. The pelicans and Nets could complete a massive deal that financially works where they could send Ben Simmons expiring, Cam Thomas and Cam Johnson To the pelicans for Ingram and Zion, who is currently injured and Ingram is on expiring, and they can decide whether to either flip him to another team or possibly sign him in free agency. The nets shot 29% from three point range. They took 40 3 pointers smh. This is the modern NBA folks and this is not a one off. This is happening throughout the NBA big problem. Here’s where things have lost me. It’s one thing to say the math says if you can shoot 36% from three it’s better than taking two but now teams are shooting well under 30% and still chucking them up. Keion Johnson is like a fringe NBA player. He’s not curry and he’s not Reggie Miller. Yet Keon Johnson had the greenlight to shoot 12 three-pointers last night. And this is where things have gotten screwy. Everyone has the greenlight.
As a Lakers fan all I can say is thanks for the consistent, high level 3 and D piece for 2nd rounders and an expiring contract. Opens up another $3 million in space for us to add another piece at buyouts time. Also, thanks for taking inconsistent no defense playing DLo back! 😄
Thanks for D'Lo, Sean is a master at rehabbing players value. He'll only turn D'Lo into an asset. D'Lo turning into a first or a couple seconds only adds to the 3 seconds. Sean is also a master at flipping assets, or finding diamonds in the rough and turns them into assets.
Zion available on the cheap. Would be amazing to flip Simmons expiring and 1 of the knick picks for a potential franchise level player who is at his lowest value. No risk high reward
